BIG NEWS!!!!LOTS OF UPDATES!!!!

Hello everyone,

Big news to share… we have started a new band!!!! This past year has been one of incredible change and growth for us, and the music has evolved into something that is no longer “Test Your Reflex”. We can’t begin to express our love and gratitude for those of you who have stayed by our side these past five years, it has been an incredible journey, and we’re confident that it is really just beginning. The truth is, we have never been more excited to make music, and to play music than we are right now. It has been your undying support and encouragement that have kept us going ‘till now, and we are going to need it more than ever in this next chapter of our lives….

So… JOIN US in our new beginning, LISTEN, let us know what you think about the new songs, and PLEASE continue to give us the love and support which has breathed life into our music.

Current mood:  accomplished

Hey guys, check out what artist direct has to say about "The Burning Hour"

Test Your Reflex cook up pop melodies flavored with alt rock experimentation, honing their very own spacey sound. It’s a sound that’s catchy, and at the same time, refreshing. Their RCA debut, The Burning Hour, channels The Shins’ indie sensibility as well as the warm, fuzzy guitar tones of early Smashing Pumpkins. It’s a tasty cornucopia of sounds that separates the Los Angeles quintet from the countless other young rock bands trying to find a happy medium between "arena" and "open mic." The album kicks off with the infectious hooks and quick build of "I’m Not Sorry." The record then segues into "Pieces of the Sun" and "Thinking of You," which embrace epic guitar resonances, while allowing singer Ryan Levine’s voice to soar.

Test Your Reflex work, because they break with convention. Andrew Ampaya’s keyboards have a dreamy, ethereal feel, while Clark’s guitar playing crunches out hook after hook. The band will definitely evolve over time as their songwriting "reflexes" evolve more, but it will come. An indication of that comes on the album’s 7-minute last track, "Painted Red," a more somber cut. Over the course of the song, the band traverses an entire soundscape that encompasses a diverse range of sounds from drone-y distortion to melodic keys. If anything, it points to a bright future. Test Your Reflex have found the right hour to burn.

Hey everyone, we've been in the studio writing and recording new songs, and we know it's been a while since we've played a show...so, we're making it up to you by playing every Wednesday for the whole month of March at the Hotel Cafe!  It's 21+ so hope you have a valid ID, otherwise we can point you in the direction of a guy we know who operates on Cahuenga and Western.  Anway we go on at 8:45 sharp and we're going to be playing a different set every week, with brand new songs and of course all the old jams.  Maybe even a couple special guest appearances... We even have some new merch to top if off!  So hope we see all your faces there,

lots of love,

Test Your Reflex

For coming to the show in San Louis Obispo, that was crazy!!  There were so many people there, it was by far the biggest show we've ever played.  Thanks to Cartel too for having us on the bill. We just want to say thanks again and keep checking out our myspace and tyr.net for news and tour dates.  See you soon!

Summer's already over...next stop, Halloween wooo!

Hey everyone, Right now we're in Madison, Wisconsin just chillin' at the hotel trying to rest up after a long drive from St Louis. The shows have been going real well. Our debut cd "The Burning Hour" just came out and its awesome to see people in the audience who know the words to our songs. It's crazy energy every night. It makes the long drives and seemingly endless days all worth it.

Also, we just finished a cover of the Smashing Pumpkins song "Ava Adore." It's going to be on an upcoming compilation album, so keep checking up on us and we'll have more information about it sooner than later.

Sleep has definitely become a luxury nowadays as there's always something to be done whether it be a phone interview, morning radio show, or just unloading gear. Nonetheless, I'm enjoying every minute of it.
Alright time for a nap.
