As some of you know, I've been on an I.V. drip from home for the past 4 weeks due to a bone infection from surgery on my foot.  A nurse comes once a week to change dressing, take blood, and drop it off at the lab.  Well on the last lab report, the doctor ordered that the dosage of medication be increased. Well swelling and hives ensued, all over my body and in places I can't reach to scratch, and it's driving me friggin crazy. Benadryl, has helped somewhat, but the medication also has caused peeling of skin. I feel like a damn snake, that sheds and a cat that purrs when she gets scratched.  Luckily, the medicine has been changed, but the damage has been done and set me back about 3 weeks.  Good grief if it wasn't so pitiful, I can imagine the picture I make, as well as the sounds. Scratch my back, and I make orgasmic sounds, now that is a funny thought. Yet in the midst of it not so great.  I'm definitely trying to keep my sense of humor about me, and write about this in a comedic situation in hopes that one day when I look back and remember this experience it will be with laughter.   So just imagine, that I sound like a cat in heat when the back scratcher, or my husband, hits a particular area on my back. Damn, if I was a dog my back legs would be moving constantly.  It is getting better, but when the humidity strikes, I'm back to the loud screeching noises and sighs.  lol.

I hope all of you get a chuckle from the description and can laugh with me.

For those of you that know me, realizes that I love all sorts of mediums, one of which is reading. Well, if you enjoy reading about Vampires, Werewolves, or other Immortal Beings, I would like to share three authors with you, that I recently discovered.

The first one is Lynsay Sands, she writes about Vampires, and her stories, are amazing -- The Immortals or The Argeneau Series, will blow you away. She is witty and refreshing with her novels and story lines.

The second author is Patricia Briggs, she writes The Mercy Thompson series, which excite you and your mind will be blown away! So definitely check  out these two authors, and have fun reading!  I know I did!

Last of all Christina Warren, OMG!  All of these authors are amazing, so pick them up. You will enjoy them immensely!

Okay, some of you know that I had to have another foot surgery, because some ass pushed me down in the grocery store while I was heading for the check out line. Yes, this jerk, cut in front of me and pushed me out of the way a little too hard, and I fell. My foot went into where those metal things are that hold the wheels in, and cut my toes pretty badly.  Now this wasn't a kid, or a young man, he was in his 40's and in too much of a rush! I yelled WTF, when you're in pain, anything can come out of your mouth.  All he had to do was ask if he could go ahead of me. I would have allowed it. So now, I've had another foot surgery, because some jerk doesn't have the common decency that God gave a piss ant! It's going to take some time to heal.

I know people are in a hurry many times, but if you're always rushing around than you're going to miss out on a lot of things if you had taken a moment to slow down. A highway where someone is speeding, gets someone injured or killed, and now a grocery store?  Good grief people, I know I'm an A personality, but I even know when to take a step back, and be courteous.

Anyway, antibiotics, pain killers, or Ibuprofen seem to for the time period be my mantra, and I'm sick of it.

Now a comedy of errors, when I was hobbling up the stair steps, one of the cats ran between my feet and tripped me, so I sprained my other foot, and ankle.  Yes, I feel like a slapstick comedy right now.  So, I'm looking forward to warm weather, and all of this nonsense being over!

So, sorry for the bitch session, I don't do it very often.

Talk to you soon,

Janice

I know of no greater heartache than the loss of someone that is beloved. Natasha Richardson, wife to Liam Neeson, mother of two sons, daughter to Vanessa Redgrave & Tony Richardson, and sister of Joely Richardson, aunt Lynn Redgrave and the list goes on of all her relations. Natasha Richardson never took advantage of the acting royalty she was born into, but dared to tackle the world on her terms. As a fan I loved her in the roles she so audaciously took, and how she portrayed a character so believable you stood up and took notice. In the prime of her life, and a future that beheld untold stories she would have done, has taken her shining light to another place.

Her family was with her in her last moments. She died March 18, 2009 at the young age of 45.

My heartfelt sorrow goes out to her family, and friends. My prayers are with you on the loss of a vivacious, wonderful woman, fantastic wife and mother, as well as a highly talented actress. You will be sorely missed Natasha.

In Memory of Natasha Richardson

Well here it is 2009! Some years ago, it seemed 2009 was so far away, that I never thought I would be the person that has to watch her diet, be concerned with aging, or absolutely detest the cold! I thought, hey maybe I'm immortal, yeah I wish! lol! As my gracious and so called logical husband told me earlier, "Hey, you'll be fifty the end of June this year!" I did a double take, like do what? You're kidding? Nah, it's not possible! I'm still 22, what are you talking about? Yes, I always sucked at math, but hey it's all in the attitude, right?

Anyway, I want to wish all my friends, and their families a wonderful year filled with laughter, joy, prosperity, well being, and joy!

I'm hoping all of your dreams and wishes come true!

Well those of you that know me realize, I'm a huge "Moonlight" fan. Even though CBS canceled the show, all 16 episodes will now be available to watch on the Sci-Fi Channel beginning January 23, 2009 beginning at 8:00 EST. Please check your local listings for the area you live in!

This short-lived television show is captivating, enticing, action-filled, with crime, passion, and plenty of tension. So spread the word and tune in! You will not regret it!

Also, the DVD set will be available in stores or on Amazon.com to purchase as well, on January 20, 2009, so don't forget to reserve your copies. Let's show CBS how they made a huge mistake, especially since all the Vampire movies and shows are huge hits! So get those ratings up for the Sci-Fi channel beginning January 23, 2009! Pass the word!

Okay, Thanksgiving is come and gone, and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. The holidays are upon us, and it's too damn cold for my tastes. I should have been born in San Diego, Hawaii or some tropical paradise where it's warm. I am after all a summer baby, and relish warmth. Now I realize I have no room to complain. There are people that live in places that get numerous feet of snow and their summers consist of only a month or two. Where is the Global Warming all of the scientists put out sometime ago? I realize the artic caps are breaking up, did they get sent down this way? Although if you've heard the latest that the South Pole is getting colder? So what do I have to gripe about right?

I just feel more alive in 82 degree weather, running around in sandals, sleeveless tee's and sandals, not going to happen when it's a day from December in the D.C. area, I can tell you that. Yeah, I hear all of you people that live in the mountains laughing at me and saying I'm such a whimp. I do love the change of seasons they are beautiful, but if I had to live in a place like Buffalo, or oter places that snows ten months out of the year, I'd go stark raving mad. So, I guess until the economy improves, I'm stuck here a little longer freezing my butt off for the time being. On my next blog probably within the next couple of days, I'll tell you all about the "Moonlight Gala" in Chicago, that was a blast!

Anyway off to bed, curling up with a goose down comforter for me.

Have a great night!

I'm way too cool, and way too young to be a grandmother. When I think of grandmother's I remember mine, she was pretty cool too, but I remember her with long silver hair. I'm only 49, back in college, and don't have any silver or gray hair. Not to mention, a lot of people think I'm hip. I don't knit, sew, or crochet. If I'm required to start quilting or things like that forget it! I learned all of that when I was a kid, and it was required, and gladly erased that from my memory -- lol! I hate everyday cooking, I only do the special occasions, or entertainment cooking, or when someone is sick, ill, or has passed away.

My grandson was born on October 5, 2008, weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces, and 21" long. My family doesn't produce small babies. Even both my sons were close to that weight and same size, and my oldest son is 6'5" tall. I'm the short one in the family. Luckily, I raised boys, and my grandson is healthy, and very sweet. When I held him in my arms shortly after he was born, my husband got a fearful look in his eyes, wiped his brow, and whispered "You're sure you can't have anymore kids right?" My response was doing an eye roll, and replying, "Well honey, we could always adopt." He shuddered thinking of college expenses, and all the growing years. "Yeah, right, we're getting too old," he said. I heatedly exclaimed, "Speak for yourself, grandpa not for me!"

But he was worried, cause he saw that wistful yearning in my eyes, and how I held our new grandson. Well just to be mischievous, a couple of days later I decided to go online looking up adoption attorney's, and leave the newspaper out on adoption notices, and made sure he overheard me making a doctor appointment. especially coming home from the doctor's beaming. I just wanted to see if my husband would say anything to me. A terrible prank, I know, but the temptation for being silly, was most definitely too much to resist, also saying I was too old. Then to make him sweat some more, I started baking, (which I only did when I was pregnant), finally after a week he said something,

"Janice, do you have something you need to tell me?" How I kept a straight face, I'm not sure how I accomplished that feat. "Well maybe, perhaps you should sit down, this will be quite a surprise." He sighed and sat down. I pulled the balloon, and a card from the closet, like I always did when I was pregnant, he braced himself. The balloon said "Congratulations" and the card said "Isn't it grand being a grandpa." He almost fell on the floor. I handed him a couple of cookies.

He just looked at me stunned. It was priceless. "Honey, did you think I was pregnant?"
I asked. "Well yeah, I did by the way you were acting." "Well last week you thought I was too old, yet apparently not this week, huh?" "I guess not when I heard on the radio that a 54 year old woman gave birth to a child." I just let him know that even as we age and mature, our bodies might not be as agile like we were in our twenties, but physical numbers are just a state of mind. I think he got the message loud and clear. Wouldn't you agree?

Anyway, I'm psyched about our new grandson!

Well, I guess since we've had the official Labor Day, I gather it is considered that Summer is over, WHA! Which means I started back at my college classes this week. My English professor seems rather cool. I'm in English 102, and the theme for this semester is actually quite enterprising, the supernatural, aliens, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, UFO's, Loch Ness Monster, and Big Foot, among other things.

I would say the argument of proving or disproving in the mystical. Pretty cool, huh? I can tell she'll be tough, but fair.

My communications professor, who I shall say is absolutely gorgeous, so he definitely has my undivided attention, lol! What can I say, I like good looking men! He is extremely intelligent, nice, and will be absolutely a great professor. I haven't met my other two professors yet, so, I'll have to get back with you on them.

I will be honest with you, I normally get along with both genders, but for some reason my past female professors, and I bumped heads, like they have to compete with me, or are extremely difficult on me, cause they probably know I'm not easily intimidated. I will give them respect as a professional courtesy, but I won't back down when arguing a viewpoint or playing devil's advocate. I like to have people think! Every male professor I have I get A's, every female is B's, how ironic is that? But I still seem to keep a 3.9 grade point average overall. Although, I didn't get all male professors this time, damn! My other two classes are Web Design II, and Nutrition, so we'll see how that goes!

So fall is here almost, and back to school, studying hard, reading textbooks that I have to struggle not to fall asleep on, writing a gazillion papers, not to mention handling my brother's estate. Oh, and at the very tender age of 49, I will be a grandmother next month, holy shit! I'm way too cool to be a grandmother!

I don't believe I will be bored whatsoever, also have a five month old puppy to boot. Should I say hectic lifestyle.

I'll be escaping to the Moonlight Gala in Chicago Halloween weekend, which should be a blast!

Now all the fairs start coming around, so things will be hopping every weekend in September through November.

That's the update for now, I'll update you as to my other two professors.

Talk to you soon!

You brought us the moon then snatched it away,
The fans fought so hard each and every day,
We did blood drives to help the needy and sick,
Although your untruths were pretty frigging slick,
You fooled the media with your petty lies,
Instead of allowing the numbers to continually rise.

The ratings were there, but you didn't care to listen,
Especially to Nielsen and their antiquated system,
They let you know there was a mistake,
It was much higher, yet you remained a snake,
When things got hairy cause the initials were failing
You decided to jump ship, and think of bailing.

You were approached by a studio to increase the budget,
But no your boss, decided to fudge it,
Oh yes, he increased by twenty-eight percent to his personal fund,
Firing the cast, crew and leaving fans stunned.

Of course the creative differences didn't help,
You wanted another initials drama whelp,
You knew cast, crew, and fans would object
The show you called your baby you didn't protect.

Since your numbers for the summer continue to drop,
We're faced with pill popping, screwing slop,
Although the fans refuse to watch,
The fall line-up is a virtual botch.

Being faced with mediocre and frivolous fluff,
Your demographics detest this disgusting stuff,
Eleventh Hour, Mentalist, and Ex-Wives,
You don't actually believe they will survive?
And what I'd personally like to know,
When did your network became a comedic show?
Except for the two nights you have penned in,
Other networks are the ones making me grin.

Your network is mostly made up of drama for sure,
Losing Peterson, and Dourdan is not the cure,
That show has outlasted its scientific thrill,
And Mac and Horatio are a copycat drill.
Now there are only three programs to see
A Ghost Whisperer, NCIS, and Numbers for me.

So, for once be upfront and bold,
Go public and let the truth be told,
How you exaggerated and led people astray,
Which will come back on you eventually one day,

It's much easier to admit mistakes, and eat a little crow,
And bring back our favorite Moonlight show,
Not to be insulting, obtuse, or rude,
I'm definitely not bitter nor am I crude,
You held Moonlight in your hands and created a craze,
The vampire genre isn't just another lame phase,

My past professional experience gives me the know
When to recognize a true network 'ho
And what really makes me so sick,
No quality programming, just many brainless shticks,
So, dishonesty isn't the way to be,
And please no more reality t.v.
Viewers need to escape and relax,
Not some twit falsifying facts,
All we ask is for a some kindness and reason,
So bring Moonlight back for a second season.
