I just found out that some more music got placed in some TV shows. I guess Man VS Food and Emerill used music as well as a biography on Oasis. Living Ghost was also used several time in something on Current TV. I just submitted most of the music from the People Like To Be Fooled release. I'm waiting to see what gets approved and then maybe used in who knows what. So keep your ears peeled you never know where a song or snippet might pop up.

I've got my own iphone app now. You can get it for free by clicking here:  istvan app

I'm still adding to it but as of now I think it looks pretty cool and works well. Let me know what you think and if you have any trouble with the link. If you do you can always type  istvan while searching the app store and it should come up.

Do you know how busy I've been? Yeah like most everyone I am hustling like mad these days. I will admit that I got a bit lost recently but have pulled it together as of late. I'm back playing as regularly as possible. Committed to making new fans one at a time. I'm trying to make all the Chicago shows as interesting and fun as I can and trying to bring different guest musicians up as often as I can.

The other thing that I've been trying to accomplish is recording. It has been slow going. I'm hoping to finish the childrens songs I've got. I'm working on them with Mike Fleming and am planning on recording with old friend and engineer Fred Bailey. The demos are really great. So I can't wait for everyone to hear them. The rock musical The Custodian will hopefully be taken up by Steven P. Slivka and actor/singer Jim Toth. My hope is to have the soundtrack completed sometime soon. I'll post the entire thing as a pod cast and then seek out an appropriate theater group to adapt it.

There is other bizne$$ that is taking place but is either too soon to put in print or fodder for the haters. So know that things are in the works.

Stay tuned and drop me a line. Find me on Facebook and Twitter if you haven't already. Or fan up at iLike. It will make life easier and more fun. I promise.

For Chicago friends I'm planning another Cigars & Stripes gig soon. I'd like everyone to be there and welcome suggestions as to when. You pick the date. Let me know spread the word and fight the power! Istvan.

So Ryan is back for a couple of weeks. But he will return to the road for another marathon stretch before you know it. We're going to try to get as much stuff recorded as possible while he's in town. We're working on the music to the Custodian and my hope is to get the basic tracks to the childrens songs done. I really want to hear him play the drums on these songs. If time permits I want to get some video of him and I playing one or two live loops. Wish me luck.

So the Halloween compilation I contributed a song too has been delayed. I'm dissapointed and impatient so I'm posting the song. There is an older blog post about this project that has a Youtube clip of the original song. Compare the two and let me know what you think. If I had to do it again I'd make it shorter. Besides that I think it came out cool. Happy Halloween.

The B-side collection is official. In a bold step into the present I have forgone producing any traditional physical product and have instead made download cards to be sold at shows. They were finished today and look very cool. The songs will also be available at all places music is downloaded. For anyone using itunes please take time and spread your writing wings and leave a little something sweet on my page. This is how itunes becomes aware of you. I'm about to debut a podcast and I'd love to someday be featured. Thanks my love.

So in addition to finishing up the song for the Halloween compilation as well as working on some childrens songs with Mike Fleming I have also been working on finishing a soundtrack to the long in the works Custodian with Ryan and Tom Miller. We tracked two songs before Ryan left for the latest stretch of the Leonard Cohen tour. He sent me an MP3 of one of the songs with an added B3 organ part he had one of the members of Leonard's band record. It sounded excellent and totally perfect. I'll post something as soon as it's done. We need to cast the voices for the dialogue after the songs are completed. If anyone is interested email me. The roles are as follows: Bob - main character (must be able to sing) Dad - Bob's dad, "Sara" - the girl that got away, The Boss- Bob's boss, The narrarator. (None of these are singing roles.)

The b-sides collection has also been completed and will be up soon. The song Quitter featured in my music player is one of the songs from that release.

Cigars & Stripes is the best bar. If you've never been there you should check it out. It's at 6715 W. Ogden Ave. in Berwyn.
