I've neglected this blog for a while so I'm gonna post an update.

I have completed a couple of songs since my last post.
I've been watching Farscape obsessively and it has been a great inspiration to me, as have it's lead actors Claudia Black and Ben Browder.
Hoping for some studio time soon so I can record some new tracks. I have at least four tracks waiting to be recorded and then I can finalise the rest of the arrangement.
Still working on getting more gigs. Hopefully some new, fresh tracks will aid in my success.

As ever, if you've read thank you for doing so.
Be kind to one another and take care.
Much love and many hugs

Okay, so it's time for a rant.

Oh. My. God. If you haven't heard The Birthday Massacre go find them on Myspace and/or YouTube now. They are one of the greatest bands. So, last night was the second time I have seen them live and boy, they don't disappoint at all.

The setlist was fantastic (Blue, I Think We're Alone Now, Video Kid and Happy Birthday being my favourite of the night) and they are so full of life, energy and passion for their music that it is infectious. The music is so poetic and energetic that you just need to dance and sing and jump and move.

The greatest thing about this band though is their attitude. They are up on stage to have a good time, not to take themselves seriously, and they spend the entire night talking to people in the audience... Chibi play fighting, hugging and hi-fiving anyone and everyone she can reach. And it's so great that in that kind of environment fans can give presents to them whilst they're on stage and they really are grateful, especially Chibi who thanked everyone. My favourite memory is probably of the entire audience making love hearts with their hands and Chibi doing it back. That is just so sweet and not typical at all. They're all so good natured and show how much they truly appreciate their fans. I have never seen anyone be so kind towards an audience. The fact that they're willing to converse and laugh and joke is something of a rariety and the audience just feels that much more excited to be there because of it. Last night wasn't a gig; it was an experience. It felt like being apart of something truly unique and amazing. The stage may have been small for a six-piece but they still let loose and I loved every minute of it.

The other great thing about this band is their eagerness to show their fans love. I loved the fact that they encourage you to talk to them after the show, that they stand around posing for photos and make sure that everyone of them is good because they don't want people going home with bad photos, they sign anything and everything you put in front of them and they are interested in having conversations with people. I have never seen another band with as big a fanbase as theirs treat their fans the way they do. It's lovely!

They are all lovely people (I met them back in 2006 as well) and I look forward to seeing them again and hanging out with fellow fans again because they are also some of the nicest people I have ever met. Being a fan of The Birthday Massacre is truly an honour because they treat their fans so well, they try to get involved with an online community and other fans are kind and you can get a chat going before/during/after gigs and get to know one another. It's a very unique thing and it's really very humbling as well. I hope that if I am ever in a position like The Birthday Massacre's that I act in the same way, that I show respect and care for everyone involved and that I am as down to earth as they are.

Thank you to Chibi, Rainbow and O.E for joining all us fans outside. It was very cool to talk to you all again (well, it was my first time talking to the smiley O.E but he's totally cute and lovely) and thank you for signing my poster, for taking photos, thank you Rainbow for the quick chat about music and thank you Chibi for chatting also! It was a great end to a great evening. Good luck and a safe journey on the rest of your tour!

Just finished a new song, entitled 'Destructo Girl'. It may change in arrangement and some lyrics may get changed (I'm too fussy!) but for now I'm just trying to memorise it.

Gig next week. Trying to decide on the songs I'm gonna play... think I'll be prepared and then change my mind at the last minute. Any suggestions?

This is the video I made for BrendaBrenda in the summer of 2008 when fans were showing their support for Shannen to return to 90210 and I wanted to show my support to Shannen on whether she returned or not. The audio used here was one of the early demoes.

Both of these songs came about because of assignments.

River of Fire was a title I was given and I wrote about the first thing that came to mind. Maybe it was from the amount of Charmed I watch or something else, but the first thing that came to mind was the Underworld :P

It's kinda different in a way from the other songs I've written but I'm seeing how it fares.

Friend of Old began with an idea of writing about missing friends and wondering what they were doing with their lifes.... and you can hear the result :P I knew some great people who would have made great evil geniuses and I still know some people who might get there one day!

So enjoy

Here's To You was a song I wrote in the summer of 2007. It's dedicated to all my friends who I love dearly.

I'm really happy that I finally got a recording of the song finished. It's one of the few songs that aren't about imaginary creatures, mad scientists and the apocalypse :P

Enjoy and take care

I was too excited about this song so I thought I'd share a rough recording of it with you. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

It started as a song for an old friend who I miss and it turned out that he was a evil genius in the making (did anyone tell him that?). The story took a life of it's own and boy, did I have fun writing it! And singing it!

Much love and hugs
