Greetings all you vamps and vipers!

The Speakeasy is back on track! Issues with ASCAP have been resolved, and we are free and clear to crank it back up and party like it's 1929!

So when the sun goes down and things cool off, come down to hear the hottest tunes from the golden era of the speakeasy from yours truly, and tip back a cool one from the age of Prohibition mixed by our own William.

I just recently jetted back from the bay of San Francisco, and I've returned with all sorts of new tunes that I'll feature tonight. So come on down and cool off your heels!

Greetings vixens and vipers!

For over a year, the Speakeasy has been bringing the heat to Seattle, providing an atmosphere of breezy decadence and  the joys of a period steeped in vision and vice. But now, the Speakeasy apparently is garnering the unwanted attention of the heat.

Ironically, since I've slung the hot wax at actual illicit speakeasies, that the one occurring in a fully licensed and legal establishment would be the one to get the long arm.

An organization called ASCAP is shaking down the venue the Speakeasy is at, the Rosebud Restaurant and Bar. They are a song publisher that monitors and controls the licenses and the rights to commercially available songs in public settings. And it seems a mole ratted out the joint, since they came calling. They're pressing the owners for some green, threatening them with trouble if they don't. The owners are in negotiation now, so the ultimate future of the Speakeasy may be in the air.

So to steer things in our favor, it's up to all of you vamps and tramps to show up in spades to show that we can bring in enough hush money to get ASCAP off our backs. So whaddya say? Come on down and kick it up!

TONIGHT!

Tonight's Speakeasy will debut a new occasional feature:

THE BLUE HOUR

When both hands are at the top of the clock, you may want to put both your hands around your ears...

Ever since the first discs were waxed, crazy cats were singing from the
gutter, with mouths and minds as dirty as you can never imagine.

The Blue Hour will feature the ribald rags, the bawdy barrelhouse, and the
bluest blues, from the cheeky to the downright raunchy. Every profane
activity from sex, drugs, booze, prostitution and the like were set
down to song, and most of them were banned from public consumption. But
yours truly will unearth them and lay them bare for all to hear.

So let out the starch and loosen up the collars for the Blue Hour at the Speakeasy at midnight!
