It seems like only yesterday when Big Kenny put the Glotown team on a tour bus and sent us out to his farm in Culpeper, VA to meet him to make a music video for "Long After I'm Gone". With a little help from some film professional, friends and family we got multiple edits of a great video.

There’s no one else in country music quite like Kenny Alphin. Known for his top hat and showy, sometimes outrageous stage attire, the “Big” half of multi-Platinum duo Big & Rich is striking out on his own with a November 10th collection titled The Quiet Times of a Rock and Roll Farm Boy, an album that explores themes of healing, forgiveness and purpose in “big picture” way. A Big Kenny way, that is...

About this time last year, I wrote Wake Up while driving through the Colorado Rockies with my friends King Nicholson and Brad Arnold on a Sunday. We cut it 2 days later in The Last Dollar studio. My friend Shawn Sakamoto from Canada was in town and convinced me to send the track to the Blackfoot Confederacy. They wrote and recorded their part on Wednesday that same week at the Reservation Rehab Center. Then the Blackfoot Confederacy invited me to come to Calgary to receive a Head Dress ceremony and blood name.
That Saturday, just 6 days after the song was written I met up with my friends in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies to shoot the music video for Wake Up! One of the great people who helped me complete this dream that came into fruition so quickly was James Wells. I recently learned of James' sudden passing that occurred this Summer. James touched the lives of his many friends and family through out the country as he traveled and competing in various pow wow circles. These people will remember him for the great spirit and kind heart he gave to anyone he came in contact with.

When you listen to Wake Up remember the ones you love and make sure to let them know! It seems a gift that People Magazine asked us to include it in their free music download special. Please do so and share it with anyone you think needs to hear it - http://www.people.com/free
