“Nine months, four seasons and two semesters, is how long it took for me to find myself. I was only supposed to attend Mercy for six months, but I was the new girl… an easy target. If I had known what kind of school this was before, I would of taken off. But then again, I met some wonderful people at the academy and the worst. Mercy also turned into my home, the dean, Ms. Tanaka, was always lenient with me and always took my side, even though the rules at Mercy Academy were simple…”1.If your caught making a scene or starting a fight on school grounds, you earn a star to show your damage level.
2.You must report to your dorms at 10PM-6AM, Sunday through Thursday. Fridays and Saturdays, no curfew.
3.Respect the school staff 100 percent.
4. When plotting a fight, guns are counted as cheating.
5.Who ever hits 10 stars during the school year will be sent to isolation, if a student is caught past their limit they will be executed. And my own personal rule…
6. Be careful who you trust.
“On the last day of school, the students play a game called “Dead Time”. The objective of the game, is to wound or kill more then ten people and to make it entertaining for the other students.
Sleeping was impossible sometimes, I was anxious about what the next day would bring; who would make threats, who would fight, who would kill, who would die. Would I be any of these things?
I’ll never know until I live through it all…”

Madison walked down the hallway toward a group of girls that were in several of her classes, but had her eyes only on one; a scrawny preppy blonde girl. Madison held her binder beside her, on the front and back were nasty comments written in bright red marker saying. “crazy bitch, bipolar freak, P.M.S., psycho.” As soon as Madison got close enough for the girls to notice her, she held her binder up with both hands and yelled “If you have a problem with me you better make it personal you fucking idiot.” and slammed the binder against the head of the girl responsible.
Madison lifted the girl up by her blonde hair, punched her in the face then threw her against an open locker. Before Madison could really give the girl the beating she deserved, the school officer grabbed and held her against the wall and put her in handcuffs.
Nine Months Later
The two boys held and yanked Madison in and out of the tub, filled with ice water that held a keg only a moment ago. Madison tried pulling herself up by whatever she could get a hold of, but the boys laughed at the site of her fingers slipping from the sides of the tub and her shoes sliding and kicking against the tile wall. She felt dizzy from the alcohol and became weak from the freezing water. Her arms, shoulders, and legs got heavy, then everything finally went black. The laughter turned into echo’s, followed by two gun shots.
The Arithmetic
Prologue
On August 31st,2017, a peace rally was held for those asking for natural order, but there was no peace, only swat teams ready to arrest everyone. Those who didn't cooperate were killed but many were spared, with only a beating and a tattoo on the wrist; a roman numeral that shows the amount of crimes the person committed or because they approved of natural order. This was only to segregate the good and the bad, stories went around saying that there were others who were tattooed on the neck.
Unlike most kids at his school, Athan was always hiding in the back of the classroom, trying to avoid everyone. He had friends but none his age. Half of the time he was either being teased by girls or getting beaten up by the popular guys, who called him a faggot. For years he never fought back, but that all changed one day he went to pick his sister up from school.
There was a commotion going on in the boys locker room. When he peaked his head inside, he saw he saw his little sister Katie, on the floor with a busted lip. Her clothes were torn and four guys from the foot ball team surrounded her. By the time campus police heard what was going on, Athan had already taken it too far.
His punishment, six months house arrest, along with anger management counseling. His father didn't think much of it, because Athan fought for a pressing reason. The fight was only the start of his new life, staying in for six months straight with nothing to do, was hell. He spent his time sleeping, watching T.V., and laying around the house. When their father transferred to a different state for his job, he left his kids the house and wired them money every month. This gave Katie and Athan the freedom to do what they wanted. They threw a party the night their father left and that's when Athan met Lisa.
At first, he was interested in her but after a eight beers and five shots, she quickly became annoying, desperate and stupid. As soon as everyone left, she tried to get his attention by grabbing his belt buckle and laying her head on his lap. Athan thought if he ignored her sleazy ways, she might go away but instead she grabbed him by his shirt and pulled him down and said. "Show me some attention you fuckin faggot."
At that second, Athan punched her in the face then dragged her by the hair to his bedroom. A part of him didn’t want to, but he couldn’t help but beat her. He didn’t like being walked all over in high school, he wasn’t going to tolerate it now. She was just like the rest of the people he hated, and taking it out on her made up for all those years he never fought back. He was so busy enjoying himself, that he didn’t bother to thinking before he shoved a six inch blade down her throat. Lisa laid on his bed, choking on her own blood. She struggled and struggled to pull the knife out but nothing, Athan slowly backed away and watched the blood drip from his shaking hands. He sat snuggled in the corner, watching her try and gasp for air. He wasn’t sure whether to laugh or scream. Katie knew what was going on but she didn't care. Deep down she was just as sick as he was, but could control her urges. It was kind of nice to see her brother do such a thing, it meant she wasn't alone.
Growing up wasn't so difficult for Tao, her parents were always around, gave her everything she wanted and took care of her. But not all families are perfect, her father started cheating with her mothers best friend. The night of Tao's 18th birthday all hell broke loose. Her mother invited her friend over, to make sense of what was going on but instead, stabbed her repeatedly with a kitchen knife, that had been used to cut the birthday cake. She waited for her husband to get home and then hit him over the head with a rock statue of Buddha, cracking his head open. Tao saw all of this from the top of the stairs and just before her mother drank an entire bottle of bleach, she told Tao.
"Don't ever trust men. You can only rely on yourself baby…"
Luckily she was old enough to take care of herself, her parents left her a house, slightly outside the city with some property, mortgage paid off and nearly over $100,000. For awhile, it was nice not being told what to do, but it was lonely. School was ending soon and she wanted to be with her friends before they took off to college. She decided it was time to have a house warming party. The party was sufficient but later that night, two guys from another school were giving her attention but in all the wrong ways.
It was bad enough she had no one to turn to, so when people started leaving, the boys stayed. It was first worst night of Tao's new life and the most painful, there was nothing she could do but lay there, it was two against one. For weeks, she stayed in doors, hiding from the world. She felt disgusted with people and herself and that's when she remembered her mother last words.
With that in mind, she bought her first weapon, a simple rifle. She tracked the two boys down through a couple of friends and found them a outside a club in the city. It was an easy two shots and she drove off. Her first kill was stimulating but it wasn’t enough, she wanted more and what would be the best way to lead deviant men to their final moment.
Prostitution. In a way she wanted to feel like she was wanted but only temporarily.

Summer was barely ending and everyone's day was going down hill, they had accomplished nothing and now they may all die because of the choices they made. Xavier lit a cigarette and sat down next to Athan, passing him a pack of cigarettes and a lighter. Athan reeked of blood, his head was pounding and his thoughts were racing.
His hands were shaking but he managed to light a cigarette. "Is she ok?"
"No..."
Athan wasn’t sure if he heard Xavier right. “What?”
"She's... I’m sorry she’s dead.” Xavier said bluntly.
For a moment, Athan's entire world paused. He immediately ran inside almost tripping on the stairs before entering the house. When the door swung open, he saw was a white sheet covering the love of his life. Blood slide from her fingertips down the to floor.
Athan began to pull his hair, tears started to run down his cheeks. His cigarette fell from between his fingers. "Xavier, wake her up..."
"She's gone Athan.”
Katie entered the living room, to see her brother screaming at the top of his lungs.
"Fucking wake her up!!!"
He didn’t want to believe what was happening, he had to see for himself but Xavier and Katie grabbed him, and pulled in the floor. He pushed them away, ran out to his car and drove off. He got onto the highway and noticed the helicopters in the distance. Going back to the city was the worst thing he could do, but he had no intention on living passed today.
He drove on to a tunneled bridge that met another highway, knowing the bridge was incomplete. The blood on his face, hands and arms began to soak from his sweat and tears. All he and Tao wanted was a normal life and something to live for. He didn't want things to end like this, but what would be worse; killing him self or being killed? Athan saw the end of the bridge slowly approaching, he smiled and shifted into the highest gear.
