At bloody last!! Two of the most requested and sort after albums have been given the Captain Oi treatment.

Cock Sparrers 2 LP's that were recorded for German Label Bitzcore in the 1990's have been re-issued. However, these releases go beyond our normal 're-issue' standards as they have been REMIXED so are essentially brand new albums!

GUILTY AS CHARGED 2009 was the bands comeback album. Originally released in 1994, our version comes with the ultra rare RUNAWAY EP as bonus tracks.

TWO MONKEYS 2009 was originally released in 1997. Again we have remixed and remastered it so it sounds great! With previously unreleased live tracks as a bonus.

Both CDs have brand new artwork, lyrics and unseen pictures. They have also been remastered by Tim Turan. The original CDs suffered from bad productions so even if you've have got the originals, you've just GOT to hear these versions to appreciate the songs.

Greetings from Oi! H.Q. and welcome to the latest update. As always lots of things going on.

First up is news that after two years of trying we have finally been given the nod by EMI to release THE SKIDS "THE ABSOLUTE GAME" (AHOY CD 304) in November. Yep, the band's biggest selling album will get the full Captain Oi! Treatment complete with lyrics, wonderful sleeve notes by Alex "No More Heroes" Ogg and of course a stack of bonus tracks including the seminal "Strength Thru Joy" freebie LP. This is a release that we've had tons of requests for over the years and should further show that we always take on board the ideas sent to us by the people that really matter, the ones that buy the records!

Our only other pre-Xmas releases are FULL COLOUR PICTURE DISC VINYL issues of "CARRY ON OI!" (AHOY PD 119) and G.B.H's "CITY BABY ATTACKED BY RATS" (AHOY PD 185) both of which are in stock now. Our other proposed vinyl titles, "TELL US THE TRUTH" by SHAM 69 (AHOY PD 611) and "BRAND NEW AGE" by U.K.SUBS (AHOY PD 136) have both now been put back until late January.

Two other releases coming in the first month of 2009 are COCK SPARRER'S "GUILTY AS CHARGED" (AHOY CD 306) and "TWO MONKEYS" (AHOY CD 307) both of which will come with bonus tracks, updated booklets and totally remastered by Tim Turan. This will mean we will have all of Sparrer's studio recorded work available on Captain Oi! Which is bloody marvellous! (plus the 2DVD "WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET" which you can now order from the site)

Also marvellous is the new full colour 2009 CAPTAIN OI! CATALOGUE. Everyone who has bought a CD from us in the last 18 months will automatically get a copy of our latest 32 page publication which has bang up to date info on all of our available releases with pictures and track listings. This means that all the titles we've deleted have been taken out of the catalogue (and off this site) so if you didn't order during the last few months sales then tough, you'll have to check out web shops like Amazon Marketplace or Netsounds to track them down.

The DOWNLOAD side of things is also picking up a pace and over the next few months we will be adding loads more tracks, particularly those from the Link catalogue that are no longer actually available on CD or vinyl. Must admit, we prefer "the real thing" at Oi! H.Q. but there is no doubt we have to adapt to survive so if downloading is your thing then expect to be able to get your Oi! / Punk down the line at the press of a button!

Despite the particularly hard times most record labels are going through at the moment we still believe that our quality packaging, presentation and top grade releases will win through. We always listen to the thoughts of the people who buy our records – as the release of THE SKIDS "THE ABLSOUTE GAME" shows -   so make sure you let us have any suggestions for future releases, new or old, vinyl or CD, even 7". Talking of the mighty GUITAR GANGSTERS their 23 track "RAZORCUTS: THE BEST OF …SO FAR" is also attracting favourable press (about bloody time!) so if you've never been sure which album of the Gangsters to get then can we suggest you start with "Razorcuts" (AHOY CD 302). It's a cracker!

Our Captain Mod label has been somewhat ..inactive' of recent times. THE CHORDS "THE MOD SINGLES COLLECTION" (MODSKA CD 28) has gone a long way to relaunching the imprint and we hope to have a lot of new releases from Mod Revival bands in the latter part of the year.

Up n coming in May, believe it or not, is not one ARGY BARGY release but three! Yep, Watford Jon and the boys have finally completed work on their new album. Entitled "THE LIKES OF US" it has 14 in yer face but highly catchy, soon to be modern Oi! / Street Punk classics that will leave no one disappointed. It's available as a CD (AHOY CD 303) and as a 12 track FULL COLOUR LIMITED EDITION VINYL PICTURE DISC. The third release from the Bargy boys this month is a spilt 7" VINYL PICTURE DISC with GOLDBLADE (AHOY 7-03) for which they contribute an edited version of "No Regrets". GOLDBLADE have come up trumps with "Jukebox Generation" which will also be the opening track on their much anticipated new album "MUTINY" which will be released in July ahead of their support slot to X-Ray Spex on September 6^th. Both Argy Bargy and Goldblade will be, along with a whole host of Captain Oi! bands (like COCK SPARRER, THE BUSINESS, U.K.SUBS, ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE, THE CRACK, etc….) at this years REBELLION FESTIVAL in BLACKPOOL on 7^th – 10^th August 2008. On the VINYL PICTURE DISC side of things, we've just issued ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE "WE ARE THE LEAGUE" (AHOY PD 604) – in it's ORIGINAL track listing – plus DISCIPLINE'S "REJECTS OF SOCIETY (AHOY PD 219). Due in June are THE 4 SKINS "THE GOOD THE BAD THE 4-SKINS" (AHOY PD 3) and COCKNEY REJECTS "GREATEST HITS VOL.1" (AHOY PD 233) whilst the following month will see G.B.H's "CITY BABY ATTACKED BY RATS" (AHOY PD 185) and "TROOPS OF TOMORROW" by THE EXPLOITED (AHOY PD 602). Lots more in the pipeline as well but if there is anything you think we should do then please let us know.

SPECIAL ATTENTION this month should be paid to the stack of CD's we have on offer in our RETURN OF THE SUMMER SALE section. Lots of releases have been reduced to the bargain price of £4.99 so that you now get more Oi! for your money. It's also a great way to complete your Captain Oi! collection at an even better price then normal.  Sale starts May 1st.

Over at ANAGRAM RECORDS on their seminal PUNK COLLECTORS SERIES there are three MACC LADS releases that have been given the Captain Oi! treatment. "BEER, SEX CHIPS N GRAVY" / "BITTER, FIT CRACK" (CD PUNK 145), "LIVE AT LEEDS (THE WHO?)" / "FROM BEER TO ETERNITY" (CDPUNK 146) plus "THE BEER NECESSITIES" / "ALEHOUSE ROCK" (CD PUNK 147) have all been remasterd and had bonus tracks added and though they are double CD's they are all available for the price of a single CD. There are lots more revamps of the Anagram catalogue on their way so keep your eyes peeled to the site. 

As warned in the last update, we have now cleaned up our mailing list and taken off quite a few people who haven't ordered from us in the last year. Our new FOUR PAGE catalogue update will be in the post at the end of May – if you don't get one then you've been removed from the mailing list so to get back on make sure you get ordering! Our new Pay Pal set up has made ordering even easier then before so there really is no excuse not to get a healthy dose of Captain Oi! at least once a year.

The DOWNLOAD side of things is also picking up at pace and over the next few months we will be adding loads more tracks, particularly those from the Link catalogue that are no longer actually available on CD or vinyl. Must admit, we prefer ..the real thing' at Oi! H.Q. but there is no doubt we have to adapt to survive so if downloading is your thing then expect to be able to get your Oi! / Punk down the line at the press of a button!

And welcome to our first update of 2008 – apologies for the delay but we’ve been a tad busy!

OK, on the NEW RELEASE front we’ve continued with our Limited Edition Picture Disc Vinyl releases. As well as THE LAST RESORT "SKINHEAD ANTHEMS", THE EXPLOITED "PUNK’S NOT DEAD", U.K.SUBS "ANOTHER KIND OF BLUES" and ANGELIC UPSTARTS "TEENAGE WARNING" we’ve just added the first two Oi! compilations "OI! THE ALBUM" and "STRENGTH THRU OI!" and due this month are COCK SPARRER’S "SHOCK TROOPS" and "THE DECCA YEARS".  In APRIL we will be doing the ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE’S "WE ARE..THE LEAGUE" (with it’s original LP track listing for first time since it was issued in 1982) plus DISCIPLINE’S "REJECTS OF SOCIETY". All look great so even if you don’t have a record player any more they are worth getting just to stick on the wall!

On the CD front, we’ve just taken delivery of THE LURKERS new album "FRIED BRAINS" (AHOY CD 301). 14 typical Lurkers tracks which include the stand out "Come And Reminisce (If You Think You’re Old Enough)". April will also see a new release for the first time in ages on our sister label Captain Mod when we will issue the 20 track "THE MOD SINGLES COLLECTION" from THE CHORDS. A great CD from a great band which features equally stunning artwork and liner notes by Mod guru Chris Hunt.

And just to show that we aren’t only about re-issues, the mighty ARGY BARGY have finally entered the studio to record their new album. Called "THE LIKES OF US" it will be released in May and will be preceded by a split 7" Picture Disc single with GOLDBLADE from whom we will also have a new album, called "MUTINY", available in July. The Argy Bargy album will be pressed on both CD and Limited Edition Picture Disc Vinyl and they will be playing selected dates throughout mainland Europe and the UK to promote the release. You can catch them at this years REBELLION FESTIVAL in Blackpool AUGUST 7^TH-10^TH where you will also be able to see the likes of COCK SPARRER, THE BUSINESS, 999, ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE, UK SUBS, etc… Goldblade will also be playing at the Rebellion Festival www.rebellionfestivals.com and will have a full UK tour in September / October to promote their new album. As well as the Captain Oi! label we’ve also been busy helping out our friends over at ANAGRAM RECORDS in relaunching their seminal PUNK COLLECTORS SERIES. We’ve given the Captain Oi! treatment to titles such as BLITZ "VOICE OF A GENERATION" (CD PUNK 141), PETER & THE TEST TUBE BABIES "PISSED & PROUD" (CD PUNK 142), EATER "THE ALBUM" (CD PUNK 143) and ANTI NOWHERE LEAGUE "THE PUNK ROCK ANTHOLOGY" (CD PUNK 144) all of which are two CD’s for the price of one and which come with the sleeve notes and artwork you’d expect from a Captain  Oi! related release. We will be doing lots more for them over the next few months so keep your eyes peeled on the website for more information.

OK, as the sharp eyed amongst you will have noticed, our ’Home’ page at www.captainoi.com now carries a link for Downloads. Yes, Captain Oi! is moving into the modern world folks! (Though we prefer old 7" and LP’s ourselves there’s no denying that to survive we need to be able to make our material available as easily as possible). We’ve also got the facility now for people to pay by using Pay Pal so there really is no excuse for anyone not being able to get some of the fine slices of Punk Rock we have on offer. To that extent, we will be updating our Mail Order mailing list in the next month or so and anyone who hasn’t ordered at least one CD over the last year will be deleted from the list. You have been warned!
