Wolfmother are back, with Andrew Stockdale fronting a bigger new line-up of band members, lots of new music and a lot more energy.I enjoyed the chance to cover their first live gig on Friday night and the energy there was astounding. The atmosphere was intense, with a very excited crowd of 300 packing out the intimate sized Valley studios. The heat was on (and that could also refer to the air-con struggling with the temperature) and Wolfmother delivered a vibrant return that is bound to please. I'm no music writer so I'll say the rest with pictures.

There are many more shots uploaded to http://greenmantle.biz/wolfmother and the shots are going to be on the Wolfmother site in the next week or two. =)

Combichrist Brisbane Gig Gallery Uploaded I've just uploaded the bulk of the shots that had enough stage lighting from the Combichrist gig last week. View it here: Combichrist Live at The Globe, Brisbane It includes quite a few social pics, fun promo shots and Neotokyo who played a wicked set in the foyer of the Globe as well. I have yet to edit the main stage support band's pics as the lighting was less effective and a large proportion of the shots suffer from motion blur due to slow shutter speed. Below: Neotokyo and Andy LaPlegua at the turntables. :)

Whilst shooting some promo images for a Hire a Hearse Limo company last week (yes I lead an interesting life - lol) , we found ourselves setting up in a misty old cemetery and just as we were ready to start shooting, all of my studio lights suffered a huge power surge and subsequently they all went up in smoke. I lost $1500 of strobes and a smoke machine so in the meantime I have to do shoots outdoors in parks, on beaches, around cathedrals or in homes with natural light (*none of which gets into my studio) and in light of that, I'm offering discounted shoots to help me fund replacement of the strobes. So instead of $300 for a professional modelling folio that providees you with all the images on DVD for personal use, you only pay $200 and still get all of the images in full res on DVD. Compare that to some other pro studios that charge you by the print (as high as $80 for a 10by8in print) or charge $1000+ for the high res images on DVD and you know you're getting value for money by working with me instead. I'm hoping to get in a few shoots before I get snowed under with working for the Abbey Festival getting the Medieval Tournament coverage sorted with the team of 15 shooters I am taking there on the 7th and 8th of July. Please contact me on 0410504757 or via email mark at greenmantle.biz By the way, I'm back to shooting weddings again. After spending some months working with a master photographer's studio I am again keen to delve into covering weddings and can now offer albums to couples and their families. All shoots still have the same Terms and Conditons as my usual shoots and these guidelines are visible here

Antiquité Atmosphérique dans Noir et le Blanc. With Brodie in the lush Victorian period styles mixed with burlesque outfits and friend Sam with my leather top hat I just HAD to see this image in tritones - so Antique Atmosphere in Black and White is as close as my 1952 Collins French English dictionary could figure. hehe Anyway, another shot for Nighteshade Jewellery in New York, this time with less negative space and a lot more tweaking to the colours. Brodie, fabulous burlesque dancer and the singer of Brisbane dark electro rock act This Winter: [This Winter Myspace page]NighteShade Jewellery: [Nighteshade online]

Heya guys, I am planning the next Brisbane Zombie Walk for this June, with more details to come soon. I have to talk to city police about any issues they have with specific dates so as to not walk through any other planned marches, free gigs or closed streets and then will post up a date. Why June? So the zombie makeup isn't so damned hot to wear, and so it wont clash with anyone wanting to prep for the 2007 Abbey Medieval Tournament. Why me? Because the original walk caused damage and the police are still pissed at the kid who didn't bother with permission or permits, and because back in 2006 at halloween we ran a tiny zombie walk and kept the police very happy and didn't damage any cars or café seating. Now that we have the senior city police happy and trusting us, they want for only us to run the event. (especially when they heard that we attended an accident on the way home in full zombie swat gear and freaked out both the ambos and the fire fighters at the scene! hehe) Also the original organisers of the zombie walks in Canada simply rock and encouraged me to make it bigger and better this year. If you want to do the vamp thing instead of zombies, I am running a Walk of the Undead at Halloween and all manner of undead and werewolves ect are invited to join in that walk. I am hoping to outdo the original walk for numbers and for quality of costumes. Here's an example of a great costume: that make-up is by Toby Barron (also modelling too) who was at the first walk and will likely be making up others for this coming walk. I don't yet have prices for his work but will be working on a project with him over the next two months so stay tuned. more pics from the first Bris Zombie Walk are here: http://elffinarts.com/pic/thumbnails.php?album=40Brisbane members, please either repost or link back to this journal/bulletin :) Cheers,Mark Greenmantle
