Jesus Says:The Sabbath was made for man;and the necessary inference is from the beginning man knew the primary use of the day, and received the benefits it which it was designed to impart... "Before the giving of the law from sinai the obligation of the Sabbath was understood." - J.J. TAYLOR (Baptist) The Sabbatic Question(Revell,1914 ed.)pp.20-24 "I honestly believe that this commandment is just as binding today as it ever was.I have talked wit h men who have said that it has been abrogated, but they have never been able to point to any place in the bible where God repealed it.When Christ was on earth,he did nothing to set it aside; He freed it from the traces under which the scribes and Pharisees had put it,and gave it its true place.'The Sabbath was made for man ,not man for the Sabbath.'It is just as practicable and as necessary today as it ever was - in fact, more than ever, because we live in such an intense age. "The sabbath was binding in Eden, and it has been in force ever since. This fourth commandment begins with the word 'remember',showing that the sabbath already existed when God wrote this law on the tables of stone at sinai. How can men claim that this one commandment has been done away with when they all admit that the other nine are still binding?" D.L. MOODY,Weighed and wanting(1898ed.),pp.46,47.

Current mood: blissful
Soon there appears in the east a small black cloud, about half the size of a man’s hand .It is the cloud which surrounds the saviour, and which seems in the distance to be shrouded in darkness. The people of God know this to be the sign of the son of man. In solemn silence they gaze upon it as it draws nearer to the earth, becoming more lighter and more glorious, until it is a great white cloud, it base a glory like a consuming fire, and above it the rainbow of the covenant. Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror, and the armies of heaven follow him. With songs of triumph, a vast retinue of holy angels escort him on his way.The firmament seems filled with shining forms, ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousand of thosands. No pen can picture, no human mind concieve, the glory of the scene. As the living cloud come still nearer, jesus can be clearly seen.He does not wear a crown of thorns, but a crown of glory rest upon his brow. His countenance shines as the noonday sun.Upon his vesture and thigh is a name written"King of Kings and Lord of Lords." Before him every face turns pale, and upon those whom God has rejected, falls the blackness of dispair. The rightious cry with trembling,"who shall be able to stand?" The songs of the angels ceases, and there is period of awefull silence. Then the voice of jesus is heard, saying,"My grace is sufficient for you." The faces of the rightious are lighted up, and joy fills every heart. And the angels strike a note higher, and sing again, as they drew still nearer to the earth. The King of King descends upon the cloud, wrapped in flaming fire. The earth trembles before him, the heavens are rolled together as a scroll, and every mountain and every island is moved out of its place.Says the psalmist: "Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.He shall call to the heavens form above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. And the heavens shall declare his righteousness; for God is judged himself." Psalm 50:3-6. E.G. WHITE
