Last week, the original line up of 5th PROJEKT played at the El Mocambo in Toronto as part of Music for MS, a fundraising benefit concert hosted by CIUT FMs Shelbie McCormick. In October, Shelbie will be part of a team that will be climbing to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania all in support of finding a cure for Multiple Sclerosis with the goal of raising $1 million for MS research. If you missed the show, you can still make a difference by making a donation online at the secure link below:
Here's a live performance from the evening of a new song called "Walk Away"
The beautiful white silk dress that Tara was wearing was designed by Toronto's Jessica Mary Clayton.
After the show, George of AW Music interviewed songwriters Tara & Sködt about 5P, the music industry and most importantly, Ninjas! Check it out here:
See you soon, lovers!

People outside of our massive and diverse country wonder why Canada has such an outpouring of musicians. The answer is simple: Winter. A season that lasts 6 months for most Canadians. One half of our year is spent in a grueling grey gloom, with a rare few weeks of brilliant blue sky, the sun blinding as it bounces off the white glint of fresh snow. What to do during a half year spent in sub zero? Some play sports to keep warm. For those that have outgrown the 'love' of the cold or the patience for it, they enjoy two things: making love and making music. Oh, and imbibing in spirits. Three things. ;)
We've been prolific in our writing since the autumn, creating an abundance of musical structures for our follow up album to CiRCADiAN. Material is being passed back and forth as ProTools sessions between our makeshift studios via USB keys (such a fabulous device!). Thus far, we have half of the album written with a host of material to finalize and take into consideration. You may recognize a few of the songs we are currently demoing: Spin, Sharp Knives, Soil to Sow, Gathering, Walk Away and Juggernaut. When these have reached our exacting standards, we will share one or two with you on our MySpace page.
The snow is now ghostly, or gone. The damp chill on the wane. We await the return of The Sun and the bloom that it inspires. The cyclical resurrection of immortal life celebrated metaphorically in every culture around the globe. It will be a month before shedding the chrysalis of jacket, mittens, toque, long underwear. A month before the song tempos shift from reverence and introspection to extroverted gregariousness. A month before the wine is changed from room temperature red to chilled white. This next cycle of the moon ushers an awakening. That of life and social consciousness.
Have a beautiful day! 5th Projekt on iLike - Add iLike to your MySpace

Visit our page at http://www.garageband.com/artist/5thprojekt and you'll find a song or two that aren't available anywhere else online. They have this great listener feedback system which we entered a few tracks into. Originally, we had placed 'Oblivion' on Garage Band as an on-line pre-release single to CiRCADiAN. The folks there were quite encouraging! This past summer, we entered the full-length version of 'In a Coma...' into the fray. It's still riding the waves and has also been warmly welcomed to the community. As accompaniment to this here blog, we've uploaded Oblivion to our MySpace player again for the first time. Hope you enjoy it!

Hello friends,
People have been asking what we've been up to lately, so we thought we'd let you know...
The song 'Resistance' is going to be released on a compilation CD called 'Hope'. The proceeds from the album will benefit an organization called SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education). 'Hope' will be available for pre-order on Amazon. We will provide the link as soon as it's available. Our very own Sködt D. McNalty did the art direction and design of the album packaging. Sweet!
Two new 5th PROJEKT songs have been released on the sly. 'TV' and 'Feel' were written for the soundtrack of the independent film 'Good People Bad Things'. The songs are available for purchase Here. The full soundtrack is available on iTunes.
'In a Coma' has been licensed to a New Zealand Film company, DystoMedia, for their super awesome mountainbike film called 'How About It?' There's a rumour that the special features also include a 5P music video. Click here to watch the trailer.
If you are on Facebook, so are we! Join 5th PROJEKT on our new Facebook music page. We're currently writing material for a new album. We'll sneak some demos out there at a later date. That's all from us for now!
