The songs on this page were recorded live September 28th at Whiskey Dick's during the annual Blues Challenge.

It is just like a battle of the bands - with the winner getting a trip to Memphis and $1000 cash. You can hear me talking to the crowd and the judges during part of one song.

Although we are not richer - we had fun!

Four of my friends and I decided at the last minute to enter for the hell of it. We had never played a gig together - but all you need to do is play 20 minutes so no problem.

Check out these tunes and enjoy! And if you like blues, check out

It is a website which I update with all the current blues shows in town!

Last night we got the awesome job of opening the show for a band that has a REAL record contract and tours the country!

Saving Jane is originally from our home town of Columbus Ohio. You can you-tube that band name if you are not familiar with them. Their music videos and singles like "Super Girl" have received lots of air play.

Yes, this is a "girl" band. I don't rock out to their tunes while driving to work. But our band, Jaded Angel, also features female vocals. That helped our 90 minute opener go over well with the crowd. The people at Captain Jack's and the entire audience treated us great! Thanks to all of you who saw the show.

And even though I said this was girl music, I was impressed and surprised when they started playing "Sweet Child of Mine" from GNR and "With or Without You" from U2. I didn't mind all the estrogen pop songs since the 5 of them put on a high energy show and were clearly well rehearsed at what they do.

For a local band like us, who have day jobs and play covers on the weekend, being asked to kick off a show for professionals like Saving Jane was a huge break and really kind of an honor. I feel like we were brought up from the minor leagues to step up to home plate with the all stars. I will use my bragging rights on this one, because a lot of hard work is paying off right now. With our foot in the door, we will try to get the attention of other national acts for whom we can warm up the crowd.

Playing bars is a lot of fun, but when you are on the ticket for a "real" rock show, you can't really compare the experience. It is a whole new level of excitement and we hope to do it again soon!

What gives you the blues?

Losing your job? Dog runs away? Wife cheats on you with a lesbian and doesn't even take pictures for you?

How about Cancer! That can ruin your whole week man.

So come to Sequoia Lanes on the North Side of Columbus next Saturday (5/17) at 4 pm. For only $15 dollars, you bowl for 3 hours! Proceeds will cure cancer. I mean it! But Wait- There's more...

You bowl WHILE being entertained by 2 great bands. One is Soul Satyr (rhymes with hater) and the other is a surprise. Actually I forgot their name. But they are good. I know the guys, and I will play onstage with them if my wrist isn't too sore. From bowling. What else would it be sore from?

Best news, they have a big bar there. And although I haven't read any clinical studies, I am pretty sure that alcohol cures all diseases by killing their germs. Or at the very least, you forget what you are dying of.

Get out your pen stupid!

Thanks to over 200 of you who came and partied with WILD CARD.

We played late into the night while people danced and played volleyball in the nude. (Told you not to miss this gig) The staff loved us as well, since we are so much better than the shitty bands that chase away their tip money. We have already been put into the elite summer line up of bands. It's like NASA for musicians. They only take the best and brightest.

That's why Matt, Trent, Craig and I will be busting our asses at practice and learning the songs YOU REQUESTED. We're going back people! Friday, June 20th.

Now we feel like part of the Flannagan's Family. But like the Sopranos or a violent prison gang, it's blood in, blood out.

Make sure you're at the next show to keep these people happy. I can't play guitar if they cut off my fingers.
