What a blast we had!! Being surrounded by so many fabulous Smart Girls, hearing Michelle Malkin, Liz Cheney, Marsha Blackburn, Robin Smith and others speak...AND meeting Michelle Malkin in person and getting to talk to her for a bit was awesome! Can't wait 'til next year's summit in DC!

It's been forever and a day since my last blog post...

I have been extemely busy these past several months with a new job in a new company, the holidays, taxes, Spring Break, etc...AND writing music again on top of all the craziness!!

My recent collaboration with my cowriter, BigDawg is "Enemy Number One"...inspired by the Department of Homeland Security's report calling people like many of you...and me "Right Wing Extremists"....which has been getting some great reviews on YouTube and is currently at #1 in Country and Country Rock on SoundClick.

Dedicated to all the Tea Party Organizers and fellow Patriots
Inspired by the DHS Report

LYRICS:

Enemy Number One

© Lisa Mei Norton & BigDawg

They’re calling us Right Wing Extremists

And they mock us on TV

‘Cause we're united to defend our Constitution

And fight against tyranny

We are proud, God-fearing Americans

Who cling to our faith and our guns

So now they have the feds all watching us

Like we're enemy number one...

Up 'til now I always thought

Our vets were real Patriots

Who loved our country with all their hearts

They proudly wore the uniform

They fought and died on foreign shores

When liberty called them to do their part.

Now the Department of Homeland Security

Has sounded the alarm

Calling our vets a bigger threat than the terrorists

Who want to do us harm

They’re calling us Right Wing Extremists

And they mock us on TV

‘Cause we're united to defend our Constitution

And fight against tyranny

We are proud, God-fearing conservatives

Who cling to our faith and our guns

So now they have the feds all watching us

Like we're enemy number one...

We tend to be pro-life all the way

We’re not ashamed to bow our heads to pray

The first amendment gives us the right to speak our minds

We don't like how our money’s  spent

By politicians who seem bent

On controlling everything in our lives.

They’re even calling us rednecks and racists

‘Cause we don’t like the policies

Of our Nation’s first black president

In our great history.

They’re calling us Right Wing Extremists

And they mock us on TV

‘Cause we're united to defend our Constitution

And fight against tyranny

We are proud, God-fearing daughters and sons

Who cling to our faith and our guns

So now they have the feds all watching us

Like we're enemy number one...

Through our faith in God, who we still trust

America was born

But freedom lost is forever gone

Our founding fathers warned.

They’re calling us Right Wing Extremists

And they mock us on TV

‘Cause we're united to defend our Constitution

And fight against tyranny

We are proud, God-fearing Patriots

Who cling to our faith and our guns

So now they have the feds all watching us

Like we're enemy number one

Yes, now they have the feds all watching us

Like we're enemy number one

Yes, now they have the feds all watching us

Like we're enemy number one.

This time last week, I was one of thousands of wonderful people who gathered at Tyson's Corner Center in Vienna, Virginia to get a chance to meet "The Great One'...Mr. Mark Levin...I got there a couple hours before he was scheduled to arrive and was amazed and very excited to see that the line went half-way around the mall already...but also worried that I may have gotten there too late for a chance to have Mr. Levin sign my copy of his sensational, #1 best-selling book..."Liberty and Tyranny...A Conservative Manifesto"...

I got my wrist band with my "group number" (18) and found out that they were going to let folks into the Barnes and Noble in groups of 25 - 30 people and that I didn't need to stand in line all those hours...just be near the store when my group number was called...so I went in...bought 4 more copies of his book...found a nice bench right outside the store entrance (inside the mall)...got some food, a beverage and had my laptop with me with my wireless air card...so I was all set!  I wasn't understanding why folks were standing in line that eventually went CLEAR AROUND the mall!!!  I'm talking...they were outside...standing...in the drizzling rain!!

So...as I'm sitting there...around 1045 I heard applause and cheering near the entrance of the mall and knew he had arrived...me being the shutterbug that I am...figured he will eventually have to enter the store once he makes his way through the crowd...so I strategically positioned myself in a place inside the store that I knew he'd have to pass...and got to shake his hand as he made his way toward the booth they set up for him (sponsored by 630 WMAL)...snapped a couple pics and then figured it would be a while before they called group 18, so I decided to wander a bit in the mall...get a bite to eat...do a little shopping...and then returned to "my" seat on that bench that a nice retired Air Force gentleman was kind enough to save for me...

Five hours after arriving at the mall it was my group's turn to go in...I was thrilled to finally get a chance to meet the man I listen to every night on my 1.5 hour commute home from the office...I've learned so much from his show...and he has stirred up a passion in me to get more involved at the grassroots levels to do my small part to educate people and help them see that the very foundation of our Nation's great history is in jeopardy...OUR LIBERTY...Once we lose it...it will be very difficult if not impossible to get it back...

I served in the Air Force for 20 years and know first-hand from my travels around the world how good we have it in this country...and I am seeing our current administration working feverishly to try to take away our liberties...deprive us of our Constitutional rights...our GOD-GIVEN rights...and turn this country into some kind of socialist utopia...where Big Brother gets to decide what kind of car I drive...how much energy I am allowed to use...what kind of food I can eat...how long I will have to wait for a cat scan if I need one...or if I'm even going to be allowed to get one...That is NOT the America I grew up in...when I joined the Air Force in 1980 I swore to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against ALL enemies...foreign AND domestic...and I take that oath very seriously...

I am enouraged by the excitement over Mr. Levin's book that has soared to #1 on every book list in the Nation...I'm encouraged by all the tea parties springing up all over the country...62 million Americans DID NOT vote for this President...and I'm willing to bet some who did...did NOT vote for the kind of CHANGE taking place in our country...

Anyway...I ramble...I'm passionate about this...and I was inspired to write a song...which is posted on my page..."A Revolution's Brewing"...with my 5-year old son, Joshua (a.k.a. "JMan") starting the song off ...I like to express my views, emotions, etc...through music...I hope you will enjoy it and more importantly, I hope you will think about taking part in your local grassroots efforts to take our country back...
Thank you Mr. Levin and all the rest of the great Patriots out there who are doing their part to educate folks on what true conservatism is all about...through your shows, blogs, books, etc...
And if you haven't picked up a copy of "Liberty and Tyranny"...do yourself and your loved ones a favor, pick up a copy for yourself and a few for those you care about, read it, and help spread the word that the future of our country is at stake...and we need to ALL get involved...
God bless you and yours...And God bless the USA!!
