Hi everyone/ anyone

Weve been neglecting the myspace a little so I added our latest acquired gigs to show that we still are carrying on!

Just been in more album rehearsal sessions and a good bit of jamming on top of that.

Trying to feel the xmas vibe but without the normal awful cliche music, funky christmas is doing the trick

Peace

Marty

With a new line up we did what we set out to do this summer, solidify the band sound and be heard. A couple of great slots and festivals have ressurrected the Pentorr name to an operating entity.

Now as Will enters his new teaching career, we dont know how much gigging will continue throught these coming months, but around one a month is a plausible target, togther with album writing sessions.

I feel happy with this situation.

have just uploaded 4 Hand Reel and 9 brave boys from our new demo! If you like them then why not invite us to play at your event?

9 brave boys is at a lower bit rate to make it fit in myspace's size limits. The songs were recorded live in my front room, so they're not a studio recording but they should give a pretty accurate reflection of how we sound.

enjoy!

This Sunday we recorded ourselves a three track demo. Its the end of an era for me and Will, always used to referring to Danger Mine Shaft as our most recent recording. It is only a demo though so DMS is still our last album. Two of the tracks are to be featured on our upcoming EP, a more folky and accoustic release than we usually do, a more breezy, summery album to establish the new line up, and set up for a proper album later in the year.

This weekend we will record a three track demo, showcasing the current lining and at last, meaning the most recent Pentorr recordings wont contain teenage girls. I leave it to you as to whether this is a good or bad thing

I think its safe to say Pentorr is back and sounding better then ever! The gigs at aberfest both went well, the new line up is working well & will  continue to get better!

We can look forward to the set expanding and improving over the coming months... We’ve got a lot of ideas for some new songs, and to refresh some old ones.

An issue at the moment is that our last recording (danger mine shaft) is about 5 years old now and with a completely different line up. So the next thing we’re planning to do is record a demo which can be distrubuted to gig venues and festivals rather than relying on previous contacts. This will hopefully be made available on myspace!

One or the two of the tracks from the demo will form the bases for an EP of acoustic stuff. The idea behind this is partly just to get something recorded as soon as possible to have something modern to sell at gigs etc. Partly its also to be a sort of record of ’pentorr duo’ versions of songs that would otherwise probably not make it onto a full album. Having a recent recording would also mean we wouldn’t have to rush making a full album, which would be good as it would mean we could focus on making a good album rather than just on making one. (and yes I know we’ve had years to make it)

Its become a bit of a running joke that we’re always intending to do another album or EP soon, but I think now the ball is rolling again, now we’re all living in the same area , and we’ve got the equipment sorted out, this time the EP should be coming out soon...

Ps. Invite Pentorr to play at things! We have nice music and eclectic hair!

The set is coming together nicely: Got some great bass going on and its all fitting together well. There's a list of gigs that we're waiting to have confirmed which we'll post as we know details, but first gig with the new (full) lineup will probably be around st perans day (march), so anyone wanting to book us we'll be available from then.

We're recording our rehearsals, so within the next few months we'll probably run through some songs without chatting & getting the levels of the instruments right to make some demo tracks. We're planning to make an EP (poss acoustic) hopefully before summer, if not then early summer, and then look at making a full album sucessort to DMS once festival season is over and the new set has bedded in.

Had first Pentorr practice/jam of the new line up today. There may be a video of a rather funky number coming soon. Worked on saltash with a new bass line and got a nice acoustic version of begone from my window. Then desecended into a weird mallard thing. Funky goblins. Hope to have the new set  ready by early next year. Also trying to acquire a domain name to get a new Pentorr website.

well the Lowender Peran Duo slot went okay, had dom playing djembe so it was more of a trio really. The plan now is that in the next few weeks or so we'll start jamming/practicing with the new line up, hopefully being ready to record a demo early next year to send off for summer festivals/gigs. At the moment it looks like we're going to keep the Pentorr name rather than start as a new band.
