PIRATES! PARROTS! AND PARADISE!

From designing teddy bear jackets for Madonna, to clothes for the Pope, the always playful and genius Jean Charles De Castelbajac had myself and the band perform live for his stunning Spring/Summer 2010 show for Paris Fashion Week.

Held on a desert island complete with sharks, beach huts and sand, me and the band rocked out to an audience of seated fashionista's which including Dita von Teese and Katy Perry amongst others who witnessed the theatre of JCDC's 'Pirates, Parrots & Paradise' themed show. A magical combination between French elegance and exoticism of a world that has already disappeared..

From Madonna to Bjork to Bowie, its always nice to work with a genius.. I had the pleasure when I was photographed by the amazing Jean Baptiste Mondino last week for The New York Times. Not only genius but supa sweet and very humble..giving me plenty amazing ideas for the upcoming video for WA.R.R.I.O.R, heres a couple supa videos he directed for Madge. DAMON ALBARN PRESENTS: AFRICA EXPRESS

Africa Express is Damon Albarn's project where he gets African musicians to collaborate with western artists in a non-patronising way. Ever scince Live 8's organisers decided to stage a concert to 'end poverty' in Africa without inviting the continent's musicians, Damon and the team behind Africa Express have been countering the idea that Africa is a pitiful charity case with a series of direct musical actions.

A huge free event in the centre of paris, part of the Festival FnacIndétendances.. will include 7 hours of jamming and improvised collaborations with some rather large names, both African and Western plus yours truly. don’t miss out!
