Current mood: hungover

While cleaning her apartment last week, Anne-Charlotte found a batch of vintage color pictures from the band's early era (1979-80).
Feel the vibes of the early Parisian "Novo" scene. Witness the band being cold and empty backstage (and onstage). Jean-Luc is unfortunately absent from these shots, but Geneviève tells me that he was busy processing data at this time.
No sleep 'til Discothèque Viande !

Eight slabs of barely controlled Power-Vocoder-Rock !
Imagine Heldon circa "Stand by" jamming with "Half machine lip moves" era Chrome, with a touch of Moroder space-disco and a touch of Magma (for the martial crushing rhythms..).
If you think that French cold wave starts and ends with Taxi Girl and Indochine, then you are in for a hair-raising surprise.
Robotic manslaughter in the cold blue light of a deserted Parisian disco, 1979. Grey lipstick on plastic girls with silvery hair that drink synthetic seaweed soda and NEVER smile when you light up their smoke. You know you don't want to miss that.

Bands listened to and aproved by Anne-Charlotte Rottweiler :
-KOREA SOUNDBLASTER ("Same" and "Geisha Pop Farm" on DOM ELCHKLANG) : Two 33-minutes long bone-crushing visceral noise attacks by these tiny possessed Asian furies. Female destructo-post-heavy-metal at its very best ! Somehow reminiscent of Boredoms circa 1993 and Afri-Rampo - yet different. The 3 furies screamed, strummed and banged. Dr P Li Khan produced and channelled their overwhelming energies. A vertigo-inducing rollercoaster ride into "Sushi Monsters" land.
-ELISABETH WURST ("Im Namen der Kleinkuenst" and "Sitzgruppe"', both on DOM EK) : Something to relax and chill back to after a Vocoder-Attack festival at Discothèque Viande. Something seemingly "listener-friendly" that will creep inside your every pore and will leave you staring at your digital clock, hoping time would suddenly stop. A bit like watching Eraserhead on a rainy sunday afternoon with nothing else to do and nowhere else to go. Pass me that brown nylon pullover, Bernd. It's very cold, in these meandering hypnotic piano patterns.
