Hello again...

I am really sorry to always use this area to write about myspace. Someday it will be all about what is going on at the record company but I am too busy for that right now. I just wanted to apologize to anyone that actually cares for keeping them waiting in the queue to be Hypnote's friend.

Hypnote is very flattered that you have asked and we had the best intentions of going to EVERY page and listening to every song. And even after we abandoned that idea, we just liked doing it so much that we still held onto each friend request like it was something very special and new to be discovered and possibly even treasured. Some of my favourite artists and even favourite people have been met in these pages.

But there have been people waiting since February so it seemed like high time to just let everyone in.

I want to visit all of your pages! I really do enjoy it. Now here is the thing... not only do I not really have the time to do it, but I would really like to listen to your music AWAY FROM MY COMPUTER WHERE I SPEND ALL MY TIME WORKING. Add to that how stupidly slow and cumbersome myspace is and it's just not going to happen.

Now, we all know that there are some people who just want to accumulate large numbers of friends. While I have never understood that or shared that objective, those people may now go blissfully on about the insane business of doing that.

For you others who for whatever reason REALLY WANTED TO COMMUNICATE with us or SHARE YOUR MUSIC, I have set up a SPECIAL E-MAIL just for that purpose. YOU CAN SEND ATTACHMENTS, in fact please do send mp3s so I can put them on a special iPod that I keep that has only unsigned music on it. ANY GENRE!!

I am tired. MySpace has worn me out. This is a real independent record company. We have to get on with work!

Please send us your music, pictures, thoughts etc. WE WILL LISTEN, READ and maybe even write back to you. But please give us the luxury of not waiting for pages to load and a bit of time AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER. ITS LONG!!!!

well it seems like every time I write anything, it is just to complain about myspace and all of the strange and annoying things people do here.

I will keep it brief.

Please do not send around 10 bulletins at once (FLOODING THE BULLETIN AREA). That is just rude, makes you seem like a jerk and takes valuable space away from other people who also have things to say. Because I don't spend a LOT of time looking at bulletins, I rely on this space to try to catch up quickly on what people are up to and I can't do that if all 1o Bulletins are about YOU, now can I?

OK, I am now officially a myspace slut.

My original intention was to listen to every single track on any page of anyone who puts in a request. I still don't really understand the whole concept of having hundreds of friends you don't even know but I don't have the administrative time to fight that particular paradigm. Now they are piling up so much that I feel like I am just being rude to the people who "just want to be friends".

From now on, anyone who is not especially revolting will be accepted immediately as a friend. Please do not take that as a sign that this is a great place to drop huge banners on my page, but frankly I am happy that any of you are interested in being my friend.

If you are particularly interested in having me actually listen to your music, please send me a PRIVATE message and I will try to get to it.

I am happy to have you here, really. Thanks for finding me and being my friend, whatever that might turn out to mean.

Sorry to all you bands that are waiting to see if you experience the exhilaration of becoming a friend! Just kidding, I know most of you don't care! But for anyone who does, please know that I do ACTUALLY LISTEN to ALL FOUR TRACKS that EACH BAND has.

If you are completely not my thing then you might not get added. If I like what you are doing, then you will. Simple enough?

Because I would have to begrudgingly admit that myspace is a major source for any "A&R" that this label does, I hope you will forgive the wait and bear with me.

I WILL ADD ANY "regular person" that wants to friend up the label but my feeling from the beginning when I first started the page was that i don't really want a lot of "bulk friends". If I thought all of them were going to buy records, maybe I would but I don't think that is the case and I don't really "get" the idea of just getting more and more friends that you don't know, or in the case of bands, don't like.

I just want to have people and bands I either know, admire or like. Is that cool with everyone?

I don't mind a little self-promotion in the comments area but any HUGE annoying pictures or flyers etc will be deleted. (I would disable HTML except I had some technical problems doing that).

If you want to message me AHEAD OF TIME and ASK IF IT IS OK to post a flyer for a club night or whatever, then I will probably say that is OK.
