Hard as it may be to believe, the American Christian Taliban is seeking to ban birth control. This latest effort is through proposed ‘Personhood’ bills, starting in Florida. The bills are sponsored by public officials from the Holy Republican Fetus Corporate Fucksomeoneelsesspouse Party.


Fortunately, we are able to shine a spotlight on these Taliban-wannabees. Most rational people are appalled when being informed about such ludicrous legislation. These groups have a right to have delusional fundamentalist beliefs, but making policy for everybody is the furthest from democracy and freedom.

This show shall be informative and entertaining. The holy warriors without medication shall not succeed in their efforts. They too will benefit when they and their family members resume secretive sexual encounters.

Health Care reform with public option and reproductive health services is long overdue in the US. It has widespread public support and was promised in the last successful presidential campaign.


Small groups of teabaggers, health insurance industry dupes, militias, Glenn Beck’s stooges, Blue-Dog Democrats (property of the industry), and members of the fringe Republican Party have loudly sought to obstruct this reform.


We have actively called for actions, comments/ blogging everywhere, and taking stands in any public manner possible to counter the obstructionist efforts. Upon learning that there will be health care reform marches on September 13 (no show on that Sunday), we decided that is was time for foreplay before the action.


We shall entertain the activist troops while having fun, great music and laughs in the process.

Randall Terry is a lowlife who is strictly about money, publicity and ego. That's why he indulged so frequently with married and single groupies back when 'Operation Rescue' was relevant, as reported by his pastor of the time. Terry also decided to turn his falling out with all of his kids to be a fundraiser. His son was on the cover of Out magazine and denounced his father's hatred and bigotry. After the Holocaust Museum shooting by a racist, and the murder of Dr. Tiller by an anti-abortion terrorist, we have seen the inevitable outcomes of the rhetoric of the new right. The Right repeats what they hear from propaganda broadcasters and personalities, as well as the misinformation that comes from the health insurance industry. They speak hysterically as if the interests of the corporate elite are the same as their interests. They act as if the economic destruction of Reagan and W. Bush never happened. The film: The God Who Wasn't There seemed to cover it best. Ancient superstitions and mythologies were repeatedly recycled. Both of the most popular holy books were largely copied from previous tales, particularly those of ancient Egypt. As religion took on a greater role in supporting empire, the history of crusades, blood, slavery, colonialism, and conquest began. This guaranteed long-term survival for the latest versions of the earlier myths.

Policies for a nation need to be in the interests of democracy and diversity. That necessarily means without a bias to any belief system. People provide misguided credit to their religion for peace, rehab, recovery, surviving trauma, etc. Actually, it was each person who made the accomplishments and breakthroughs in their lives. Their illusions of a magical father-figure were what prompted them to allow themselves to progress and heal. That is cognitive therapy, not fairy-tale magic. What we now know is that a person has the mental ability to grow, heal, recover, and sustain after any trauma. We have the ability to live without delusions. Rev. Bookburn - Radio Volta

August 16 show: Woodstock 40th Anniv Celebration


It was fun to brainstorm ideas for doing a show about the powerful Christian Fundamentalist cult called ‘The Family.’ If they were simply isolated nutballs, it would probably not be worth the time or attention. However, these jokers have actually become a major influence with the crazier politicians in Washington DC. This theocratic cult was under the spotlight when more ‘family-values’ teabaggers were recently caught is extra-marital sex scandals. Sen. John Ensign and Gov. Mark Sanford have both been affiliated with ‘The Family.’


The last time a cult called ‘The Family’ was prominently featured in the media was when Charles Manson’s group was arrested. We see many similarities between the two families, including bigotry, anti-women policies, and advocating a theocratic holy dictatorship. Doug Coe (Charles Manson, Jr.) heads the DC family and seems to merit a show theme.


We couldn’t think of a better way to have fun with the ‘family’ than doing the show with erotic film star Jacky Joy. The repressed, hypocritical, scandalized holy rollers would probably express outrage, but they would also probably drill a hole in the wall upon the sight of Jacky.


This will be a memorable show with Jacky Joy, Pastor Buttfuck, and the usual cast of characters. We’ll also learn more about Jacky, play good music, have many laughs, debate Pastor Buttfuck, and provide serious heat for cultist family.

I think Scott is right. It is so absurd to attack Craiglist in the name of being against exploitation. Since traffickers used cars to transport victims, wouldn't it be logically consistent to demand the banning of all cars?

It's been well-established that the PD falsified the report. In a way, I like the president's positive efforts to handle the situation. But it is also disturbing.
