Three years in the making, "Nothing Rhymes With Woman", is the band's definitive creative and artistic statement. From the iconic image of the burning tree, to the enigmatic title, to the radio ready pop perfection of the single "Miss Hollywood", this is the Carbon Leaf album that we have all been waiting for. Fans of "Echo Echo" and "Indian Summer" will be thrilled and delighted by the blissful musical ear candy that is "NRWW". Barry Privett's wonderfully reminiscent, reflective lyrics and crooning tenor have never sounded better, Carter Gravatt's playful and evocative guitar picking style are in top form, and Terry Clark's driving bed of acoustic guitars and joyful vocal harmonies soar. Jason Neal on drums and Jon Markel on bass provide the perfect rhythmic accompanient. "NRWW" is a heavy set of instant Carbon Leaf classics, worthy of many repeat listenings. Longtime fans will instantly fall in love with "Mexico", "Pink", and "Lake Of Silver Bells", followed soon thereafter by "X-Ray", "Drops Of Rain", and of course the album opener, "Indecision". The band is riding high, and from the sound of things, having a lot of fun along the way. There is a lot to love about this album, and there is a lot to love about Carbon Leaf. They get better and better with every release, and never stop growing and maturing as a band. "NRWW" might just be the album that catapluts them to much deserved and long overdue rockstar status, and garners them a legion of eager new fans. Be sure to catch them on the road this summer in support of this wonderful new record. Nothing Rhymes With Woman, and Nothing Sounds Like Carbon Leaf. See you out there on the road, boys!

Glen from Spaghetti Cake and High Adventure here - I wanted to briefly share my thoughts with you on the Indy IV DVD;
Having now watched the DVD already several times, I have to say that it continues to get better and better with each viewing, just like the 4 times that I saw it in the theater. With each viewing, I continue to notice slight nuances that I hadn't picked up ... Especially after watching all of the special features on Disc 2, I found an even deeper appreciation for the artistry that went into the making of the film. The thing that I want to touch upon that surprisingly hasn't been discussed that much yet is the quality of Harrison Ford's acting. It is obvious that he deeply cares about the character of Indy. The delivery of his lines and the looks upon his face are wonderful. An older, wiser Indy, and yet still giddy as a schoolboy when the situation deems it necessary. One of the lines that had to grow on me was when he holds the Crystal Skull up to Mutt and says "What IS this thing?". Even Indy himself doesn't fully understand what he's been searching for! His eyes and face tell a tale of boyish wonder and amazement. I really enjoy all the new faces of older Indy, from his fatherly concern for Mutt, to his caring for the love of his life Marion, to his genuine concern for his students, to his appreciation for the study and research of applied archeology. The character is genuine and warm, more so than in any of the other 3 films. And he still knows how to kick butt and take a beating with charm and appeal. So kudos to Harrison for a job very well done! In addition, I have really been warming up to the brilliant new score from John Williams, who after all of his accomplishments, has managed to come up with another brilliant 'lite-motif' for the Crystal Skull. That ascending root/tri-tone/octave theme (usually played on a harp) kicks in in the diner and carrys us all the way through to the jungles of the Amazon, and on to the finale of the film.
And lastly, I think that I have finally grasped on a level that makes sense to me, the climax of the story with Spalko and the inter-dimensional beings. Spalko wanted to know everything, and her wish was granted, but her reward was having her eyes burned out and her body obliterated. Perhaps the message is that we're only human, and maybe we're NOT supposed to know everything, but instead have to take a few things in this life on faith. A message that I stated in previous episodes of the "Indy-Cast" that appeals to me about all 3 of the original Indy films. Indy never REALLY gets what he is searching for, but instead finds some faith along the way.
I LOVE Indy IV on DVD. Mark my words, like the other 3 films before it, it will one day be a classic. Forget the haters -- and please bring on Indy V, as soon as humanly possible!!!

Here's Glen from High Adventure's Spoiler-Free Review of "Indy IV";
In a nutshell, I loved it. "Indy IV" was hugely creative and entertaining, just like the other 3 "Indy" films before it. I find it hard to be critical of something that has brought me so much joy. I went into the midnight premiere of "Indy IV" with Todd "E-Bones" wanting to love it, and you know what happened? I did. It is also very hard (not being a film maker or a film critic myself) to fairly judge a film that has had absolutely no time to age along with me for 5, 10, 20 years. My gut feeling is that it is going to age very well, and that I am going to love it more and more as the years go by. On a side note, I was super glad that I stayed virtually spoiler-free for the whole time leading up to the premiere, because it made the experience so much richer for me. It wasn't easy towards the end! "Indy IV" is a rare gift, like an unexpected love letter from my childhood heroes sent forward into time just for me to thrill to and enjoy. In a way very similar to how I felt with the Star Wars prequels, George and Steven didn't have to make this movie, but they did. And boy am I glad. It might not have magically transformed me back into a 10-year old, but it reminded me of how exciting the world can look when viewed through the eyes of a child. So thank you, thank you, thank you to George, Steven, Harrison, John Williams, and heck, even Shia for giving me another unforgettable experience at the movies that I will enjoy on my own, with my kids, and with my buddies for the rest of my life. The influence that you have had on my life and my destiny is beyond measure. May you all continue to make it up as you go for many, many more years to come. So, the only thing left so say at this point would be, in the words of Ed Dolista, "bring on "Indy V"!
Todd "E-Bones"' "Indy IV" review will be forthcoming. Stay tuned...

"THE BALLAD OF INDIANA" FEATURED ON WAMC RADIO MAY 22
Williamstown, Mass. (May 16, 2008) – The indie rock single "The Ballad of Indiana," created by Todd Howard and Glen Nelson, will be featured on WAMC's Roundtable on Thursday, May 22, in honor of "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," opening in theaters the same day. Joe Donahue will interview Todd Howard for the Roundtable segment.
Released under the band name "High Adventure," the song highlights the duo's trademark harmony vocals and syncopated, driving rhythms. The song was created in Howard's Mac-based home recording studio in Williamstown, after an 18-hour session, where the duo wrote and recorded the entire piece in one sitting, their only goal being to share their love of Indiana Jones with fans around the world. Within the musical structure of the song are several creatively repurposed and reconstructed themes from the original John Williams score from the film, and contains a number of "easter eggs," or hidden surprises for fans to unearth.
Todd Howard, owner of the Williamstown-based new media production co. Howard Digital Media, is a music/film/tech blogger for Zoom In Online, producer and co-editor of the independent feature film "The Trouble with Boys and Girls (2003), written and directed by Jesse Howard, director of the theater and digital filmmaking program at Berkshire Country Day School in Lenox, MA, and his younger brother. Todd is also a computer book author and the bassist/vocalist of Last Fair Deal, Chalk and family-friendly rock band Spaghetti Cake. Glen Nelson, based in Conn., is an elementary school music teacher and co-founder/vocalist/keyboardist of Connecticut-based Spaghetti Cake as well as regional jam-rock fave, Flipper Dave. Spaghetti Cake will be performing at the Strange Creek music festival in Greenfield, MA, on Sunday May 25, where "The Ballad of Indiana" will have it's live debut.
"The Ballad of Indiana" single had its world premiere on Ed Dolista's popular podcast "The Indy-cast," (Episode 24) a show for fans of all things Indiana Jones, produced in Australia. Downloads of the free MP3 from the band's site, and hits on its MySpace spiked following "The Ballad's" debut on the Indy-cast. On May 7, the song had its US debut on one of the web's longest-running podcasts, "MacCast," at maccast.com. The show, hosted by Adam Christianson, is geared toward Mac users and features a song by an emerging artist as the finale of each episode.

"THE BALLAD OF INDIANA" HONORS NEW INDIANA JONES FILM
Harwinton, Conn. (May 12, 2008) – Glen Nelson and Todd Howard re-join forces after 20 years to create the ultimate fan tribute to Indiana Jones in honor of the newest installment in the Indy canon, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," hitting theaters on May 22. The indie rock single, "The Ballad of Indiana," released under the band name "High Adventure," is a love letter back to childhood heroes Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, John Williams, Harrison Ford, and Indiana Jones, and highlights the duo's trademark harmony vocals, and syncopated, driving rhythms.
"The Ballad of Indiana" single had its world premiere on Ed Dolista's hugely popular podcast "The Indy-cast", a show for fans of all things Indiana Jones, produced in Australia. Dolista interviewed the two songwriters on Episode 24 of the podcast, available by free subscription on Apple's iTunes store, and also on the world's largest Star Wars fan website TheForce.net. Downloads of the free MP3 from the band's site, and hits on its MySpace spiked following "Ballad's" debut on the Indy-cast.
Glen Nelson, based in Conn., is a music teacher and co-founder/vocalist/keyboardist of Connecticut-based Spaghetti Cake as well as regional fave, Flipper Dave. Todd Howard, formerly of Avon, Conn., is owner of media prod. co. Howard Digital Media, is a music/film/tech blogger for Zoom In Online, an independent film producer, author, and the bassist/vocalist of Last Fair Deal, Chalk and family-friendly rock band Spaghetti Cake. Todd and Glen were both in each other's first rock band in middle-school in the early 80's, called "High Adventure," and they've re-adopted the name for this project as a nod to the era, which was also when the original Indiana Jones films were released.
After the surprise of having their Star Wars-themed tribute song "Farm Boy" featured on the October 13, 2006, episode of "The Force-Cast," a fan podcast created by the folks at TheForce.net, Howard and Nelson felt a calling to return to the genre and write a follow-up tribute song in honor of the upcoming new Indy film. On May 12, 2008, the song will have its US debut on one of the web's longest running podcasts, "The MacCast." The show, hosted by Adam Christianson, is geared toward Macintosh users, and features a song by an emerging artist as the finale of each episode.
On the heels of watching "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and Julie Taymor's Beatles-inspired masterwork "Across The Universe" on DVD for inspiration, the boys put nose to grindstone on March 29 in Howard's Mac-based home recording studio in Williamstown, Mass., for an exhaustive 18-hour collaborative session, where they wrote and recorded the entire piece in one epic sitting, their only goal being to share their love of Indiana Jones with fans around the world.
