Enjoying the day in style and comfort

Toilets facilities are a cut above the average outdoor event with portable toilet blocks with proper facilities provided.
Wear comfortable shoes you do not want your high heels sinking into the grass when your dancing!
Wear sunblock and a hat even on overcast days your skin can burn
Dress in layers so you can strip some off if the day warms up or add a few layers if the afternoon breeze gets nippy. If wet weather is forecast bring something suitable to keep you dry as the fun keeps on going unless conditions become extreme.
Something to sit on As this is an outdoor picnic style event, no marquees or large tents are allowed but feel free to bring a blanket, a shade, umbrella, or deck chair (deck chairs will also be available for hire).
Leave your pets at home Please note there are no pets allowed on-site.
Mobile phones to keep in contact with mates and record the contact details of new friends;
Bring Cash cause there are no ATMs on site
Bring a camera At Jazz in the Vines youre surrounded by natures splendour the spectacular backdrop of the Brokenback Range, the sweeping vista of the Hunter Valley. Be prepared to capture the stunning golden light as the sun sinks low in the western sky not to mention the fun and action of the concert and crowd.
Talk to people! Have fun! Jazz in the Vines is a great place to meet people Its the friendliest festival around, infused with great food and wine as you would expect in the Hunter but it is the great vibe that makes the difference oh and some of the grooviest music around.
What about the kids? Children under 12 years have free entry to Jazz in the Vines (with accompanied adult) but its more of an adult event and there are no specific activities for them or child minding facilities at the event. There are childminding services available throughout Hunter Wine Country Contact Wine Country Tourism for details and bookings. If you do bring the children ensure you keep track of them make sure they have your mobile phone number on them and that they know what to do if they get separated from you.
What if it rains? If it rains, the show will go on. The show will only be abandoned if conditions are deemed dangerous.
How much for Parking? Nothing! Free parking is available onsite.
Can I get a refund if I can’t go or don’t like a band? Tickets are non-refundable so once you buy a ticket the only way you can get a refund is if the promoter has to cancel the entire event.

Environmental Initiatives

While we have always been a little green here at Jazz in the Vines, we are now taking a few more steps in the green direction.
There are a few things you will notice when you get to the event…
Recycle your bottles! – we have a glass bottle recycle system, where you get a discount if you return your empty when you purchase another bottle.
Environmentally friendly packaging – where possible all cutlery, crockery and plastic cups and bags will all be biodegradable
Transport – leave the car at home and catch a bus!
Printing - All posters and flyers created for the festival have been printed on 75% recycled paper by our keen, green printer. We ask anyone that has a flyer or poster for the festival to please recycle it afterwards.
These are simply first steps on a long road. Each year we will try to do more and more until we are as environmentally friendly as we can be

Enjoy !

Current mood:  exhausted
wow, it's all complete - it's always a struggle as we only have 6 bands, one taken up with a local artist, our last of the day needs to be groovy or funky, very danceable which leaves me 4 spots to fill. Not an easy job with all of the great bands and artists available. Here goes......... James Morrison, the ladies of jazz - Christine Anu, Grace Knight, Paulini and Monica Trapaga, Galapagos Duck, The Australian Army Band, Watussi and the Dixieland Jazz Band. Tickets on sale April
