Hey Everyone!

2009 is shaping up to be another big year for
everyone’s favorite piano phenom and heck-of-a-nice guy Taylor Eigsti.
He played a gig earlier this month to benefit the UC Berkeley Jazz
& Improvised Music Program, and is performing on Feb. 26 along with
fellow SJW faculty Julian Lage at the Jazz Club at Longwood Gardens in
Kennett Square, PA (http://www.longwoodgardens...org/TheJazzClub2009.html). Musicians for this year's prestigious series at Longwood were selected by NPR "Piano Jazz" host Marian McPartland (http://www.npr.org/templat..es/rundowns/rundown.php?pr..gId=24), who will have Taylor as a guest on her show later this spring -- stay tuned for more information.

In March, Taylor is playing at Sculler's Jazz Club in Boston and at the
Burghausen Jazz Festival in Germany. He's got a calendar up on his
website (http://www.tayjazz.com/cal..endar/index.html) for more information on these and other upcoming tour dates (or visit his myspace: http://myspace.com/taylore..igsti.

Taylor was also part of the crowd at President Obama's inauguration last
month, and he's posted his memories of the event on his blog (http://www.tayjazz.com/new..s/index.html).

And for those of you who haven't seen it yet, here's a 5-star YouTube video
from 2008, featuring Taylor, Julian Lage, Gregory Hutchinson, and
Harish Raghavan at the Jazz Standard in NYC.

Enjoy!
