Pete will be in the studio friday, saturday and sunday for drum-a-thon recording sesh, assisted by Kirsten who'll be providing guitar related noises.

We're also looking at a re-worked version of one of our older songs as a possible bonus track for the album.

And the new song, commonly referred to as "The New One" has now been officially christened "Scum Culture".

Well, things have been very slow recently due to unavoidable hassles, but we're back on track now

Iain (studio / label person) and Pete (drumming / hitting things with sticks) have been working on the drum track for our first single, "Liquid Skin", over the past few days, and the rest of us are due to go in and finish it soon. Once that track is done, the rest of the songs should be easier cos we'll have a rough idea about level, mix, etc.

We'll hopefully have a release date for the single soon, watch this space!

Been a bit quiet recently on the news front, but rest assured we've been working on the album and on new songs for the live set. Our next gig is at the Alma in Bolton on Sat 21st March, and we're trying to book more at the moment, so let us know if there's a good venue near you!
Cheers

We spent this weekend in Padded Cell studios with PC head honcho Iain, and laid down rough versions of 8 of the tracks for the album. This is the first time we've had the luxury of taking our time over recordings and it made a huge difference not to have to be watching the clock!

We were able to pull the songs apart and work more intensely on any parts that sounded like they needed to be more focussed, which will have a positive impact on the final recordings, which are due to take place early next year.

More news soon!

Howdy blogviewers!

Well, I'm happy to confirm that the last set of lyrics is now in place so we now have everything in place for the album. The new song is pretty much typical of how our writing style has developed over the last year, in that it's a real joint effort between members. The track is called "Stand", and it's got a big stomping riff courtesy of Mr Kirsten, along with more large riffs and lyrics about life handing you a lemon, and then handing the lemon back and telling life to cram it sideways.

We can't wait to play this one live, and depending on whether it fits the song, a bit of slide guitar may be in order.

So that's 10 tracks in total for the album, and we start layin' 'em down in November - more news soon!

All the best

Well, things are progressing very well as we work on getting the songs ready for album no. 1. We've been looking at all the material we've written recently, along with some older songs that have been featured in our live set over the last few years, and we've come up with a mix of old and new material that we think will make for a varied and entertaining album.

The most recently written new songs are "Seeds of Plague" and an instrumental called "Leviathan Smiles", which is named after an episode of "Deadwood" (we're all big fans and would like Al Swerangen to manage us)!

We're going into the studio to record basic tracks at the end of November, so there's 8 weeks of rehearsals to knock the songs into shape.

More news soon!

Rising UK metal band SEE RED have signed with British metal label
Padded Cell Records. The band say that they are "delighted to be working with a label that shares and understands our passion for hard-hitting metal".

Padded Cell Records M.D. Iain Westland said "We are very proud and excited to be able to work with See Red. A true force of talent, commitment and sheer musical ability combined with the will and tenacity to make it. "

The band will be recording tracks for a single release, to be followed
by a full-length album which will be recorded later in the year with
Tony Dolan (ATOMKRAFT, ex-VENOM) as producer. The band hooked up with  Dolan after he joined them for a performance of Thin Lizzy's classic
'Cold Sweat' at a Phil Lynott tribute gig in late 2007.

See Red will be playing new songs to be recorded for their forthcoming
album at their gigs over the next few months - full details of scheduled shows are available at www.myspace.com/seeredmetal

Hi all, it's Rich here with an update on what's shakin' at See Red HQ.

We played in Wigan a couple of weeks ago at a venue called The Waiting Room, along with fellow Bolton bands Sobek and Supamodel, and another band called My December, all of whom are worth checking out!

And we've been hard at work on 12 songs, all or most of which will be on our first album, which we hope to release in early 2009. Two of the songs are already in our live set ("Liquid Skin" and "Wasted") and have been well received, which has been encouraging for us, cos if you like those two you'll love the rest of the new stuff

There's another song nearing completion and due to be included at live gigs very soon, namely "Seeds of Plague" - keep an ear out for it!

More news coming soon!
