When you think of LA you think palm trees, sunshine and drinking cocktails by the pool. Not for me this trip!
I have spent the last two days in bed wrapped in three blankets shivering and sneezing! Im not good at having a cold ! I dont like sitting around and i especially dont like having to watch hours of american cheese ball adverts on tv whilst doing so!

I was fine at the BRITS the night before i left for LA. I had a blast that night ! The BRITS is always full of surprises and madness and it always goes too quickly for me ! It whizzes by and then your left all hyper and all dressed up with no where to go !
I thought the performances this year were incredible ! Take that in a UFO spaceship?? YES PLEASEEE!!! How gorgeous did they all look with those specs on too! Girls Aloud as showgirls with pink feathers!!!! Stunning !!! AND Kings of LEon...what can i say!!! I just flippin love them!

I was so hoping to interview the handsome kings. We captured them after they won their first award and i kept them mildly entertained for ten minutes before my next live interview was due backstage. Literally seconds before we were due on air their management dragged them away from me, the marginally stalker like fan disguised as a tv presenter! GUTTED !
BUT ...hey i got to interview the HOFF! We had an 'interesting' chat where his main focus seemed to be my dress! Then before he went on stage he asked me if he should wear his jacket buttoned or unbuttoned! Bemused by his concern i went for buttoned up for a smarter HOFF!
I was happy Girls Aloud won a BRIT and loved that they were so clearly over the moon about it ! Also Elbow who after years of slogging got their well deserved silver lady !
I thought MAtt and JAmes did a great job with Kylie! Their opening dance was stupendously brilliant ! All im saying is LEATHER LEGGINS! wow!

After the awards i skulked off home as i had an early flight the next morning and the threat of a dreaded cold looming ! As soon as i got on the plane my sneaky cold decided to show is ugly head! I was shivering one minute, sweating the next ! No amount of British Airways hot chocolate could cheer me up !
So i landed in LA thursday afternoon feeling horrendous. I thought perhaps a hot toddy would warm me up from my shivers and clear my head. Instead i got an instant whiskey sweat and had to go to bed! Yesterday is a blur as my head was still clouded with snot and sneezing (if there is such thing as man flu i have it !!) and spent most of the day in bed with short intervals of filming.

We were up at the crack of 6am to go and film with Taraji P Henson who is the great actress who plays Brad Pitss mum in Benjamin Button! We met her at her Pr ladies posh office in Hollywood and had a good old natter about dresses, jewels and all things oscars ! She is a lovely lady and i look forward to seeing which dress out of her three options she chooses for sunday !!! I have chosen a dark pink floor length Balenciaga frock with some black diamond jewels and converse underneath as no one can see my feet behind the restrictive 'dont-touch-the-movie-stars' hedge they put between us all!

Then back to bed before warming up to the fact i was going to hangout with PAris Hilton for the afternoons filming ! She didnt show up which i was a bit gutted about as i was planning a great new phone screen saver of me and her chillin together ! I also secretly wanted to meet her weird little dogs and her monkey she apparently has! SO instead we went and filmed at one of the Oscar gifting suits which is an odd concept where movie stars go to a room full of random things and they take it all home for free! You get different colour wrist bands showing your hierarchy in the celeb world to show HOW much free shit you get !! I ended up coming away with a stainless steal sharpie, a floor length coat for when ive 'been surfing!!!!' and some odd shoes you were to improve your posture!

Next it was off to the Four Seasons Hotel to interview lovely Dev Patel! If your yet to see Slumdog Millionaire, go do it now ! Its beautiful and clever! We had a nice chat on a sun lounger about how mad his life has recently become ! He is still so excited about the whole HOllywood way which is refreshing and good to see. Elton John waved at him last night which i was actually quite jealous about !

Then it was back to bed with another 100mg of vit C and a lemsip! I slept for ten whole hours and feel quite chipper this morning. Im still snotting all over the shop and sneezing but the general body ache of the cold has vanished thank goodness! I really dont want to be snotting all over Brad and Angelina, or my pink Balenciaga dress tomorrow to be honest !

The whole 2 hour LIVE show will be on SKy One tomorrow night (sunday ) at 11pm! Hopefully i get to see Mickey Rourke again!! I hope he wins the Oscar too!
So now im going to do some more research on my lap top then go and rehearse on the red carpet for a bit ! This involves random people walking up and down the carpet out side the Kodak Theatre with paper signs around their necks stating that they ARE Kate Winslette or Clint Eastwood and us presenters from all over the globe pretending to interview said fake celebs!!

Wow there nelly its been a while! Im one hell of a lazy blogger these days!

SOOOO where to begin? Thanks once again for all your messages of support from climbing mount kilimanjaro ! We go very soon indeed and are all quite nervous about it!!
Moyles and i chat most nights on the phone discussing training tips and what we're eating. We have all thought of nothing else for months now! I hope we all get to the top and raise a mountain of cash for Comic Relief !
I had a right result the other day when i was at the gym. I was in no mood to be there and was contemplating a half arsed session. THEN god sent me a gift! The Italian national Rugby team strolled on in to my gym to train!!! They were playing at twickenham that afternoon so were in for some pre match training !!! NOTHING like this ever happens at my gym. The most exciting thing before this was getting new crosstraining machines!!! I was in that gym for two hours and loving it !!! NOTE : It is quite hard to pout whilst running and panting (i was giving it a go!!)

Young kids as tiny as 3 years old getting blood transfusions and painful injections to cure them of this life threatening illness!
What we plan to do is raise enough money to buy a million maleria nets! Its sounds so simple doesnt it . A NET !! A net could keep a family from ever getting maleria again ! SO even if you give us a fiver that is one family out of the hideous relentless loop of maleria!

I have also recently been filming a documentary out in march! Its my first documentary so im quite nervous about it but fingers crossed you will enjoy it,Will post more deatil about it soon!

I had alot of fun at the golden globes and the BAFTAS this year ! The line up of nominated films this year are awesome !! THe wrestler is my favorite closely followed by Slum dog millionaire ! CLASS films!!
I got to interview Mickey Rourke at the BAFTAS and he was such a legend ! We have the same tattoo artist in LA so we chatted tatts and stuff and he said i was hard core which made me melt with happiness! If only he knew i bake fairy cakes at the weekends and talk to my cats!
Im off to the Oscars in a week too to cover it for sky one ! Hope t bump into Mr Rourke again so i can feel cool for 5 seconds again!!!

Finally i hope your Friday the 13th havnt been to weird/bad and that your all geared up for vallies ! If your single or all loved up have a great day with people you love. Im off to my mate indias to bake cakes and eat them all after !!

Ohhh its been a while!

Im currently sat at my desk at radio one trying to get rid of Moyles. He has a massive love crush on my mate Holly and has just made me ring her for the second time in 7 days to ask if she would leave her husband for him!! The answer was .....surprisingly ..NO! (AGAIN!)

 

So since i last blogged i have been mainly living at radio 1 covering for Edith which im really enjoying. I have had the chance to interview some of my fave people on earth whilst doing this show!

First was Will Ferrel and John C Riefly, then Jack Black, and Will Smith. This month i had a lovely chin wag with Colin Farrel who was so down to earth and chilled. I went to one of those posh london hotels where they hold movie press days and headed for the room he was in. Usually there are a host of people around the star. PA's, PR's, assistants, make up etc.... Lil old Colin was all on his own! Smoking away inside with a cuppa! What a nice chap! He was chatty, funny and very chilled!

JOsh Hartnet was of course hot as can be and possibly has the lowest voice on earth! Its almost a groan or  croack!

This morning i got in to work to interview someone sooo exciting! I cant say who it is...but its all very exciting and i shall reveal all on thursday when we play the interview out on radio1 !!!

I have also filmed a new sky one show recently called Guiness World record breakers smashed!  Myslef and lovely Ben Shepherd and loads of crazy stunts and records being broken! Its on Sky ONE late nov ! I will post dates and times as soon as i know!

We took part in the reverse bungee (video on my page ) which was hideous in every way !!! you can find out who got the record on the show! We also had the most expensive perfume, the guy who can do the most football round the worlds in a minute and Justin HAwkins leading a massive group world record attempt! Its going tobe a really fun show!

 

Holly and i are still having a right laugh on Celeb Juice! Last week was obviously an interesting one. I had Katona on my team who was a little hazy shall we say and HOlly had David Gest who is one of the most bonkers peolple i have ever met! He has intvited holly and i to his new stage show which involves him dancing and singing and doing back flips!! IM THERE!!

A show i did really enjoy was French and Saunders live at Drury lane! Try get along and see it as they are so brilliant!! I laughed the whole way through and especially loved jenifer 'doing' her Madonna dance!! AMAZING!! Two legends ! Holly and i went and had what i like to call a theatre dinner, ie a box of malteasers and a bag of fruit pastels washed down with some 7up!  

Joanna Lumley (WHO im boarder line obsessed with ) was 3 rows in front of me ! I wasnt sure what to do....

(i need to break off this blog quickly...a slight interlude if you will) as the mystry guest i interviewed earlier is weirdly stood behind me in the office ! HE is trying to use the side exit to escape and i am pretending to be very busy on my computer !! ahhh!! )

...and ..errr...where was i?? Yes Joanna ...so i was contemplating a tap of the shoulder follwed by

'hey i love you...errr..your my hero ...and this is all a bit creepy i guess..but..errr can we be friends?'

I bottled having a light chit chat incase we DIDNT end up swapping numbers so i could pop round for tea !! Instead i headed for the door and ended up brushing arms with her whilst holly squealed with laughter!!! I am a massive loser!

Yesterday i also did something quite unexpected! I went into my local town to buy some envelopes and ended up buying a few christmas presents!! ITS october! I have never done anything festive this early and swear im turning into my mother ! HELP!

Ok i best go prep for the show! 1-4pm . Its my last week covering for Edith then im back on the weeknds! HAppy halloween

This is the first blog i have written as a 27 year old !! 27 HOW DID this happen!!!
I still seriously feel about 18 but i guess now is the time to face up to the facts...im an ADULT now!

So how did i do this?? I went to spain with 6 mates and played ridiculous drinking games for 5 days!! BRILLIANT!!

It was a really special week! My 5 best mates and my brother Jamie set off from Gatwick at an unreasonably early hour for our spanish adventure! When we got to spain i was designated driver which was all fine until i set eyes on our beast of a 9 seater mini van!!! I then had to drive us, our luggage and the beast van up the scariest mountain for an hour to get to our villa! These roads were literally curly dirt tracks with a cliff edge on one side!!! When we arrived at the villa i was dripping in sweat and had a permanent frown creased on my fore head!! I went to straight to the kitchen for a gin and tonic before i even unpacked!!

Our holiday schedule was very simple.
Sit by the pool and listen to DUran DUran and Elton JOhn by day and play drinking games by night!
ON the second night we had a dress up night (remember this is all in aid of saying goodbye to my teens so i really went for it !!) We all picked a name out of a hat. I got AJ form the Backstreet boys, my best mate Kye got JOhn travolta and other at the party included Boy george, Amy winehouse, and David Bowie i the ziggy days!!

WE played the ring of fire(drinking card game) and the cereal box game(where you have to bend down and pick up a cereal box off the floor with your teeth ..ridiculous!!)
Poor Amy (india) ended up feeling very rough and had to go have a lie down!!
The tradition of star gazing ended the evening each night. I managed to clock up seeing 4 shooting stars through out the trip which was beaut!!!

Each night myself and my mate Lolly would put on some tunes ( we're talking dizzee rascal, Justice, britney ) and would dance around the tiles on the terrace of the villa whilst trying not to tread on the lines in between the tiles! WE named this game 'a night on the tiles' (pictures on my mypage!! again ridiculous!)

Another fine moment of the trip was when my brother came down to the pool one morning and had shaved his facial hair into a mexican handle bar tash!!! AMAZING!!! I think he might start a craze with that one!!!

I have decided to make it birthday month and am continuing the celebrations now ! I had a little shin dig at my house the other night where my aunty got very drunk and belly danced for all my mates . She also weirdly got my a shee wee for my birthday ! This is a contraption which allows you to stand up whilst peeing like a boy! NICE!!!!

Anyway all in all i had the best birthday yet and have decided that i shall leave growing up to next year!!! Or the one after ! The cereal box was far too fun!!

I beginning to feel like i live in a fake eiffel tower! If you have ever been to Vegas you will have seen the spectacle that is the Paris hotel. Its the oddest place to stay and annoying at times.

ie..this is how my mornings go here...
wake up, put on t shirt, get the lift (elevator) down stairs, go to coffee shop, get greeted with "bonjour" what coffee do you want?? AHHHH drop the bonjour your obviously from texas!! I dont mind the whole faux paris thing, but i just think some people here are starting to believe it !!!

Anyway im very much looking forward to the finale of Last Comic Standing on thurs!! I cant wait to see who wins!! Im also realllly looking forward to coming home as im back on the chart show with reggie on sunday! I miss reggie so much when i dont see him for a while! I caught an old episode of Only In America the other day where we were horse riding and we were both bloody awful and it bought back some wicked memories!!

Holly and i have also shot two Nintendo adverts that will be on tv as of friday the 8th!! Whilst filming the advert we had to play on DS for about 10 hours straight and im now a fully fledged addict!!!

I nipped home last week for a bit which was lovely and threw my cousin BIba a baby shower at mine!! We had such a giggle, although my mum did neck a whole bottle of champs and proved to be more than embarrassing! At the end of the evening she actually took me in the kitchen to apologize and she never says sorry so i know she was embarrassed!! Not long til i get a new little cousin!!! WOOOOO!!!

Well im gonna brave it and go and get a coffee or should i say cafe' ??

Jet lag SUCKSSS!
I have tried many a theory to get around this horrid condition but i think i have finally given in to the fact that it is unbeatable!!
My technique this trip was to land, put a frock on, brush teeth and go party!!!
It didnt work but was a fun night!!! ANt and Dec are over here too right now for the launch of their ace new show ! Its called WANNA BET and is a bit like YOU BEt (think matthew kelly) but weirder and funnier!!
One guy on the show could tell what CD he was holding by licking its surface!!! It was insane. He got 4 out of 5 right. He correctly named CD's like Iron maiden and foo fighters after one lick!!! WEIIIRRRD!
Their launch party was bizaar but alot of fun. There were a bunch of Brits there which was ace and some random visitors along the way. I was introduced to a mini lady called Eva whose hand i shook and then 10 seconds later realized it was a desperate house wife!!!! She is probably the daintiest human i have ever met!!! No wonder when i got my self a mini Magnum i was shocked at how small it really was. In the adverts they are almost normal size for her !!!
I was also introduced to AC Slater from Saved by the Bell (random i know ) as the 'newest single English girl' by my embarrassing American agent!
Luckily the embarrassment was quickly deflected by the drunkest man i have ever met! The host of Pop Idol in New Zealand! He was definitely celebrating for Ant, Dec and the whole bar!!! A weird night but fun and Ant and Decs new show here ROCKS!!!

So the jet lag is still roaring strong, but no time to worry about that as im off to Vegas for the final of Last Comic Standing !!! Im so excited as i genuinely love our last batch of comedians and have no idea who is going to win this competition !!!
All will be revealed on our first live show on friday!!!
Im not sure im mentally ready for Vegas quite so soon after my last trip !!! BUt when your in vegas you just have to embrace it !!! FAke gondolas, pina coladas in giant test tubes, and giant meals....bring it ON!!!!

My mother just informed me the weather in the UK is scorching so as usual i have completely missed all the good stuff. The day i land will be the day it once again pisses it down so i apologize in advance!

Its sunday and im pooped and sitting in my pj's at an unfashionably late hour digesting the week!
Its been a total mad yet brilliant one!
Thanks to everyone who sent messages saying they enjoyed the Nelson Mandela concert!! I have tried to reply to as many as poss! AND YES it was an amazing night!!

The weather was a bit ropey though so my new short black dress was a bad idea!! I did you use that as an excuse to get warm hugs off as many artists as i could!!

I managed to get a air kiss of Will Smith who i think vaguely remembered my face from the interview i did with him last week, a wave from the BIG man Madiba, and a nice chat with the Winehouse!!!

I was told a million times by her team i wasn't going to get to chat to her but obviously i didn't take that as a NO!!
I hung around the side of stage before she went on in a stalkerish manor and waited eagerly for her to come out!! She popped out back for a fag and just casually walked over. So we started rolling and she was brilliant! She said she misses Blake ("my Blake " ) so much but he is out in two weeks!! She also said she was back to hospital after her performance!
My producer offered her a mini bag of Harribo and she took two and stuffed them down her bra!! Im not sure if she went out on stage like that but her bust certainly looked voluptuous that performance!!

I was chuffed she wanted to talk and also LOVEd her performance ! She always pullsit out of the bag!!!

I was also very pleased to get 10 minutes with the Prime Minister!! He was very friendly and chatty and generous with his time! After the interview he said he thinks i should be presenting all those political Today shows to make it a bit more human!! AH can you imagine! NO in a word!!
My mate who was a photographer on site has a cracking pic of me with Gordy which will definitely be my profile pic with in the week!!

It was also gorgeous to interview Annie Lennox who i adore, Eddy Grant, Jim Kerr and many more!!! A very atmospheric, memorable evening!!

Last week i also got to hang with Jack Black for a bit for an interview i have pre recorded for radio one (im covering for Edith as of monday ) who was very funny and quirky !! It will be played out over the next week or so!

NOw let me tell you about the best movie i have seen in AGES!!! Mumma Mia !! its genius!! IF like me you love camp, funny, feel good shizzle ...this is your film!!! I went in an apprehensive tired kid and came out dancing and spinning down the street to DAncing Queen!!! GENIUS! Go see!!

Well im off to Radio 1 now to see who is this weeks number 1!! Then im in for EDith from monday for a few weeks!!!
Have fun in the sun and if your at Glasto im so jealous it hurts!!

Right you may think this is terribly sad that its only 11pm on sunday evening and already im blogging about the weekend!
But what else am i supposed to do!! I had to drive back home after the last band as im up early for work tomorrow so no Pimms and hanging about for me!
SO i got home full of adrenalin and memories so thought i'd blog away!!
The weekend started with me and my two mates heading down to maidstone on saturday morning bright and early pumping Radio one loudly from the car all the way down in the sun!! BLISS!

We got on site and heard that USher had just addressed maidstone as MANCHESTER!!! Brilliant...it begins with an M at least!!
Reg and i then raced to the INMWT stage and watched VAmpire weekend. We both broke our vampire weekend viewing virginity and raved on!!! The lead singer wears these fabulous little deck shoes and has the best dad dance moves ever that reg and i have been trying to master ever since! A BLOODY great live band who i cant wait to see again!!

WE did our Request show live form the little cabin/love shack/radio truck which was cosy to say the least!! WE had a few guest crammed in too!! The feeling popped in (After quite a few beers ) and told us what fun they were having in the kent sun!!
Fat boy slim and robyn swung by as did the fratellis.
The busy schedule didnt allow a lunch break so i chowed down a penguin and a pack of mCoys and trooped on!!

At 7:01 pm(ravenous by now) with gin in hand i was over watching the future heads rip it up!!! The audience in the INMWT stage were awesome and the atmosphere was crackin!
Reg and i met the band after the gig for the first time and they were delightful!! SO chatty and friendly and generally lovely!!

I stole reggies huge NIKE hoodie after feeling a bit nippy and ran to see MADGE!!
Reg and i were like a couple of hyper monkeys waiting for her stage arrival! OUt she came, jodpers and all and kicked it !!! There she was hanging off the video screens, gyrating on amps and doing the sickest of dance moves which i tried to recreate simultaneously and unsuccessfully!!

WE then hopped on to the radio one fun bus back to the hotel. Reg, Colin and myself were temporarily delayed due to madge's lock down. NO one could leave before lady M . So we waited in our bus until MAdge sped out of maidstone in her modest 6 strong fleet of cars and 2 police escort bikes!!! Our bus tried to sort of tag on to the end of this fleet so we could feel more important and part of the high rollers!! The fact we were in a dodgy looking coach could have given the game away!

NOw dont tell any one this but..... after the gig reg and i went straight to bed!!! (in our respective beds of course!!) !! The after show parties and hotel bar drinking went out the window as soon as the word HOT CHOC was mentioned!!!
I think i pooped my self with all the 'trying to be madonna' stuff!!

The next morning i bumped in to Moyles mum who i love and who informed me she had been out til 2:30am....and then proceeded to ask where i was???? AHHHH..right..wellll.....hot choc, bed, shaun of the dead on tv....etc....! Moyles mum is way cooler than i'll ever be!!

Reg and i introduced Adele on stage which was a great buzz and then headed off to watch Black KIds one of our fave new bands!!
They were glorious, sweaty and electric!!
Then we stayed around for Justice on the same stage and all i can say it
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
It was the utter high light of the weekend. I may even be as bold to say the hight light of my 2008 so far!!! They turned the tent into a massive rave. Every person in that tent was jumping around and going mental!!! I seriously did my back in dancing!! I have no control over my body in these situations and am now hunched over my computer with a cuppa tea in agony!! Worth it though!!

We then went on air and did the chart show live and interviewed Nelly who is bimmin muscly!! HIs biceps were bigger than my head!!
WE got off air after announcing Madonna was number one for a 4th week and checked out the Zutons!!! I love watching these guys live!!! They are tight as can be, have so much energy and Abbey from the band is the coolest chica on earth!!! NOt only is she gorgeous, she has insane style and can play the saxophone!!

I headed back out to the car park where the Wombats had set up their own BBQ called the 'Wombar' where it was all going on!!! They had food sizzling, drinks on tap and deck chairs!!! I like their style. I reluctantly declined the offer of a beer and jumped in my mini to drive back home all the while listening to radio one!!

What a wicked sun drenched, sweaty, electric weekend!!! I cant wait for next year!! If you also got to go i hope you had a rockin time! If not try for next year and in the mean time check out all the great red button footage on your tv or go online for loads of photos and videos!!!

So here i am in Vegas.
If you’ve never been to vegas, its MAD!! If you have, you’ll know. If you’ve lasted more than 3 days, well done!!!
Im here working on the same show again for NBC, LAst Comic Standing. We’re at the semi finals stage so are staging two big shows this weekend at the Paris hotel where our comedians will be whittled down to a small group for the live shows.
I had today off. The prospect off a day off alone in vegas was at first quite terrifying. I dont gamble, dont desire to drink pina colada out of a foot long plastic eiffel tower, and love to sleep!!!

I thought i’d just go with it and see what happened. I had a little read in the morning as im loving my new SLASH autobiography, then had a potter down the strip. The strip in vegas is MENTAL. A mini eiffel tower, a mini NYC with a roller coaster in its centre, a mini venice complete with gondolas and men singing in awful fake italian accents, and loads of shops. I wasnt in a shooing mood so got some lunch and a cute vintage bowler hat and crept back to the hotel.

My mate Kev who is the biggest blagger in the world( ie last week he was driving a lamborgeni around for free(( he didnt nick it....this is the level of his blaggin skills!!)) i digress ) managed to BLAG me some free Elton John tickets as Elts plays at the Ceasars Palace here every night!! Most of the crew were still shooting so i trotted down there on me own.
The Forum where he performs at night is huge!! 4000 people circling this massive stage!!

I wore my new bowler hat but didnt make the connection between Elton and THE hat until i got in there and was greeted with ...

"hey nice hat..VERY Elton"

And from the bar man when buying a gin...

"hey nice Elton hat, did you fly all the way from the UK to see him tonight?"

So now i look like a mad Elton John stalker on my own at his show!! Anyway the show rocked!! Little Elts sure gave it some welly!! He played all the classics and as he tinkled into Tiny Dancer i nearly let out a cry of joy(stalker behavior for sure!!)
There was a lot of on stage madness, giant inflatable bananas, giant inflatable hot dogs and most weirdly giant inflatable tits!! They came hovering down at one side of the stage with these massive erect inflatable nips!! It was brilliant because at the start of the song they resembled Pamela Anderson’s assets and by the end they were flopped away looking more like Maggie Thatchers(i should imagine) .

After the boob incident a load of people from the audience were allowed to join Elts on stage and all gathered around his piano. It was hilarious to watch as a whole mix of people ran on up. Mad girls on Spring break of some kind, hip hop looking guys still trying to remain looking cool and a few oldies just about managing a sway!!
There was also this guy sat in the next row to me really giving it some. He was stamping his foot , throwing some air punches and mouthing along to all the words apart from he didnt KNOW any!! Excellent!!!
So all in all a great night!! I am a serious loner but it was such fun!!
SO i start filming tomorrow and then am back in good old Blighty next week for some more radio fun with reggie!!
Im off to bed now, probably the only person tucked up before mid night in vegas!!
