Oh man! South America rocks! If you're gonna gig you gotta gig over there, it's un'bloomin'believable. Did some shows in Santiago, Sao Paulo, Salvador & Rio. Played to 17000 over 4 nights. Chile, tho a country a bit on the thin side (geographically), it has the Specific Ocean huggin it so hey! it's ace in my book. Even saw some penguins for f%$k sake! People were v friendly & know how to rock & roll. We got invited to the Nike building where they said you have one hour to take anything you want...for free!!! Check my trainers at our next Flatbush gig. There's also a bank named in my honour so if you need a safe place to stash da cash during these troubled financial times, trust in me. Next up was Sao Paulo which is great but weird in that you either have loadsa money or f*%k all. No middle class here let me tell yer. Mate o mine pulled up at a stop light in a van of 6 people, had 2 guns thrust in their faces & were well & truly f%$+ed over. Watches, cash, the lot so I put me hands in me pockets, kept me head down & did keepy uppies w a football like a true Braziilian whistling World, Hold On (classic swerve) but ya know what, as shady as they are, the kids in the Favelas (slums) rock like you can't believe when it comes to music so it's not all bad news on the radio. Salvador de Bahia is the place where the slaves from Africa were brought first before travelling, via Cuba to the nice christian people of North America, the c%*$ts. Consequently, there's a big African influence in this region where the sights, sounds, smells & tastes are intoxicating. Music is everywhere in the streets, clubs, on the beach, in the blood, favelas, everywhere with a strange brew of Samba, Reggae, African tribal goin on. Here the people are uber friendly & full of life. The food is awesome too. I had roasted mango with tiger prawns followed by octopus rissotto..damn that shit was good. As for Rio de Janeiro, well it's Rio innit? Been asked to go back & play during the carnival in Feb 09 where they expect over 4 million people to attend so if I can get a milk float w some speakers, decks n fx we'll be there flying the flag for da UK...too right! I wanna see the kids from the Favelas of Sheffield at our gigs because our own Samba Riddim is strictly rockers..Steve Flatbush, Jah Bless xxx

I recently travelled to Jamaica & wanted to share some discoveries.

My mojo had been a tad limp of late so while Nicky Flatbush was in the US w Human League I went to the Carribean & I must say I found Jamaica to have everything it should. Don't believe the false press, half truths & nay sayers. Jamaica is the bollocks.

This is what I discovered in Jamdown (again)..hope it helps

..My family, bullet rain, hurricanes, the heat, the beat, pot holes in the street, Sunshine, good times, Kingston, the herbalist farmer, beautiful black people, that my sister smiles, tuff gong, lizards, ackee & salt fish, red stripe at 70p, sugar cane, white sands warm seas, sting rays, Maroon Town, overcrowded buses, rip off taxis, jet skis, I & I, that Peter Tosh was my 2nd cousin, Negrils 7 mile beach, coconut milk, mangoes & bananas hangin off trees, rice & peas, shoot-outs, revenge, babylon risin, people in their 80s climbin trees n shit, top drawer sensi, Mandeville returnees, deep bush, outside showers, goats, pelicans, soon come, that my Uncle Leaford & John Lee Hooker were twins separated at birth, my granny & grandads burial site, Usain Bolt, that my mum is still 1, roots, history, revival, hope & love.

Did I mention that the music is fuckin ace?

These are some of my dicoveries & my mojo has indeed been awakened.

Go discover it for yer self

Jah love
