7 years ago I wrote a song about something very special and dear to my heart. Discounts. After singing/rapping it live at a small show in Dallas, it became one of my most requested songs. Friends and fans have asked me to release it for years. I refused. Not because I take myself too serious...but more because it will be the dumbest song you have ever heard.

Despite my reluctance, I finally got in my studio and recorded the jam. Once it was complete, I figured why not do a music video? I called up my friend Jacob and got him to direct one.

I love making music. Especially music that you can relate to. Up until my latest release, I have produced everything I have ever done. This part of the recording process took a hold of me and became something I loved doing. Because of that, I decided to start producing other people. Being that it is really difficult to do everything yourself, I knew I would need some help. Jacob Schrodt was the man for the job.

It was a year ago that we created HeyBrother Productions. We have since then been writing/recording/producing artists non-stop at the studio we run in Dallas, TX. We are currently working on a website and will be updating the myspace with new music we have recorded soon.

So the new CD will be called Nice To Meet You. It's a 5 song EP and will be for sale on my page on November 13th. As of now I will be selling this CD myself on here and at shows. Within a few weeks it will also be on itunes.

As you can see I decided to go ahead and post a song from it. This way you can get an idea of what the album sounds like.

I get a lot of messages asking me why my CD hasn't come out and if I know when it will be released. I am currently working on a 5 song EP. It will be an independent release. Meaning I am putting it out myself. This will be the first thing I have released in 3 years, and I am very excited about the music. I should have it ready for you to buy in 2 months. The songs are brand new recordings that nobody has heard.

Also, I will be in Dallas for awhile which means my studio is up and running. My drummer Jacob and I have a production team called Hey Brother Productions. If anyone is looking to make a demo or do a full on recording let me know. Our prices are reasonable and the sound is great. Hello, friend. I figured I would give you a little update on my business.

For those of you wondering when my CD will be coming out... I am currently searching for a new record label. One that is excited about my music and wants to release it. I am still recording and working everyday. Hopefully, it won't take too much longer... as I do appreciate your patience. You are too kind.

I've had some friends ask me to put some of my new songs on here so I will be posting a few in a couple weeks. I always love getting feedback (good or bad) on new stuff so feel free to let me know what you think. I will also be posting the newer version of Time Stood Still. I actually produced this one in my studio. The current version was recorded in a hotel room in LA on my laptop.

Speaking of LA...I will be there for the next few months. Staying busy as usual.

Anyway, I hope you are doing lovely...and always remember...having fun is fun.

I think John Mayer's new album is one of the best released cd's in a good while. If you haven't heard it, you should. It is the kind of record that stays in your car stereo for a year or so.

Another John that I like is John Legend. His new CD is coming out in a month or so and I heard his new song on his website and it is definitely up to the same standards as his last record.... which is awesome.
