I was invited to speak with Northern Spirit Radio show host Mark Helpsmeet about my Songs of the Soul. listen to the whole interview at http://www.northernspiritradio.org/

This interview is currently the only place the new song "Labyrinth" has been publicly released. Enjoy and write comments. It was a real pleasure to speak with Mark and get to talk about songs, spirit, muse and songwriting that I don't typically get the opportunity to share on "the air". - Julie

Current mood:  contemplative

Other than listening to The Golden Compass & works in progress of the various projects Bruce has been engineering in the studio, looking at the passenger "shelf" the album titles read like magnetic poetry on a philosophers fridge.
Once – soundtrack
The Joshua Tree – U2
Magic – Bruce Springsteen
The Meaning of 8  - Cloud Cult
The Con – Tegan & Sarah
Story Problem – The Envy Corps EP from UK

Okay so there's going to be more blogs than "the 1 and only" :)
we've been journaling throughout our tours in 08 and after 50,000 miles we found the road book under one of the car seats while cleaning the Scion. So before it becomes 09 we apparently have (or had) much to say. So this is the first edition of several quick looks back at life on the road with Patchouli.

Jan. 2008

Quad City Arts Free Fridays – Patchouli shared the stage with the largest indoor plant we've ever seen outside of the Botanical Garden walls sandwiched by such a variety of talented local artwork.

Night of the Living Duo's - We teamed up with neighboring honky-tonk bluegrass duo Ditch Lilies at the local Gelly's Pub and the count on stage was 2 duos 5 guitars 1 banjo 2 basses 2 mandolins, 1 ukelee, 1 lap steel 1 drum

Starr's Cave – Stuffed animals
We performed underneath the snow goose, great horned owl off Bruce's left shoulder, into a packed room looking at the caribou and elk heads.

This is my 1st and most likely my one and only blog here in myspace.
Mostly b/c I want you all to go to our official website www.patchouli.net
and listen to all our new tunes and read our road journals there.
So why then the Blog at all Julie?

It's to annouce our 9th album
The Summer Finding

It has just arrived! and we've been so busy on tour I haven't time to tell you all yet!
People have been saying "it's a best of, must have" "the summer set energy of Patchouli live with the clean and clear studio sound".
We had so much fun putting it together in between tours in the past year and half, putting in only our best energy. It's complete with a mini art show and poetry reading inside.
You can go to www.patchouli.net and listen to the tracks and see more.

Thank you all for being friends and your support and encouragement keeps us going and helps us hold the light.

Peace & Music
and Sunshine Baby!
