Thanksgiving… family…. Drinks….drama… and football too!! Better start a fight with your mom and drunk uncle…or the random blonde whore brought by some random cousin… the football games ain’t gonna give much excitement this weekend, a few good games but the OH MY GOD games are the last two of the weekend… but the stretch run officially takes center stage (you know it when Mike Francessa ACTUALLY TALKS football on his NFL Show instead of Yankee whining)… 5 weeks to go, time to legit think Super Bowl dreams!!!
Thursday Nov. 28: Packers at Lions: Remember when the thanksgiving day games were, you know… GOOD? Why couldn’t we get the Browns and Lions today??? That would have been awesome! But noooo, the TV Networks want their big rating games on Sundays and they know they can toss crap out there and we watch it…. Damn shame though… last week was a defining moment in Matt Stafford’s career, one armed… one play to go and he makes the play (thanks to an idiot Mangini timeout call)… but the kid’s on the map, but because of the short week he’s not going today… Calvin Johnson is banged up too… and that’s not good… so the Packers even with their injuries should roll today easily… Prediction: Packers Game Quality: *1/2 (Lions will play hard)
Raiders at Cowboys: I’m worried about this game…. Dallas’ offense is so-so as of late…and the Raiders can play some defense… so can the Cowboys though… and not like Gradkowski didn’t get carved up at a Tampa QB on this day a few years ago… but this one’s not gonna be a walk in the park…Bad teams don’t win two weeks in a row though… and the Raiders are still… a bad team… so……Just don’t ruin my dinner today Dumbo, ok??? Prediction: Cowboys Game Quality: ** (could have anti-football entertainment)
NY Giants at Broncos: The only game worth watching today, eh? Both teams are still kinda struggling, and not doing what made them good this year… the Broncos are falling apart on offense… and while it would be funny to see Phil Simms’ kid come in and beat up on the Giants… Chris Simms couldn’t beat Rutgers if he was the Syracuse QB (it’s been a while since I smacked around that lil school)… I do like that the parts of the teams with issues are matching up…this should make this game fun to watch… and hell you’re gonna be dying for a GOOD game today, this one should deliver! I just as much as I want to… can’t believe in the Broncos… prove me wrong Orton…. Burn in his light!!!! Prediction: Giants: Game Quality: ** (Chris Simms… HA!)
Sunday Nov. 29: Tampa Bay at Atlanta: Well this is the classic “just what the Falcons need” game… but seems every non-bad team plays a bad team every other week… what a weird year of football…I know Tampa’s a pain in the neck team with the QB and the youth and all… but they ain’t there yet, and Atlanta HAS to have this to stay in the playoff chase (though losing to Dallas and NY hurts them)… anyway this is the time of year you gotta believe the good teams (or not bad teams)… actually show up….. Prediction: Atlanta Game Quality: * ¾
Miami at Buffalo: Well least they didn’t stuff the Dolphins in Toronto again this year (though putting Nacho the USC boy in the dome… just as stupid)… and boy did Miami come up BIG last week in that Thursday night game…and in a city known for heartbreaking “coulda/shoulda/woulda” FAILS…. Yeah that’s Buffalo alright! But hey it doesn’t matter if they win or lose…. Terrel Owens got his 98 yard TD… right? I give the Bills as much a chance as that city has of getting over Brett Hull :p Prediction: Miami Game Quality: ** ¼
Washington at Phily: Oh God… I need to talk about the Redskins again?? Why god why??? I miss the bye weeks! The Redskins have a crap passing game… 3rd string RB, and they’re the Redskins… the Eagles seemed to have turned it around… and they’re running the ball better with Dr. McCoy running the ball instead of Westbrook… and the pass weapons are dangerous…and any team that can do anything (you know like get a touchdown)… makes them better then the Redskins! Prediction: Eagles Game Quality: *
Seattle at St. Louis: Well the Seahawks are so bad now, they are barely worth my time anymore… but I can say that about the Rams too…. This has the makings of some anti-football games we look for each and every week… but you just gotta feel…. These guys ain’t worthy of it, but they ain’t good… they have talent though, which is why it doesn’t feel our beloved cluster of the week….but still… Seattle’s gotta beat someone… and no one lies down like St.Louis’ finest (I’d make a joke there but St. Louis girl jokes are so 1999… really… Jesus that was ten years ago….) Prediction: Seattle Game Quality: * (this could be our train wreck game!)
Carolina at NY Jets: Damn… another fascinating game…. Jake Delhomme has become a (almost) useful NFL QB and NACHO LIBRE has become Delhomme 2.0! Both teams can run it… the Jets are better on D, but the Panthers have a passing game… and the Jets are a team trying to run in quicksand now… this one could be ugly but in a comical kinda way… over/under on turnovers? I’d say 10! Fun game… but damn near a toss-up…. Prediction: hrrrm.. *coin flip*… Carolina? CMON DELHOMME! Game Quality: *** (this has anti-football promise)
Cleveland at Cincinatti: I wonder what Eric Mangini will yell about this week… really… d-back’s faking injury to stop the no-huddle offense? It was more shock that your awful team found an end zone or two! Still I can bash the Browns all I want… hell the Bengals shit the bed in Oakland last week too… but it’s the Browns… they’re horrid…. The hell with them! Prediction: Bengals Game Quality: * ½ (CMON, you know you wanna laugh at Mangini)
Colts at Texans: You know what…. Every time I look at the Texans and think they will win they FAIL… and every time I think they’re done, they shock me…. So I think they have no chance in the WORLD in this game… the Colts are rolling and dominating (and like the Devils it’s a lot of smoke, mirrors and phenoms… imagine if they had Andy Greene… wow!).. but still… all signs point to the Colts… and knowing the Texcians like I do…. Prediction: Texans Game Quality: ***
4pm: Chiefs at Chargers: Well the Chiefs are playing a bit better (funny how that happens when they jettison Larry Johnson right)… Jamal Charles is looking like a keeper RB, the offense is a little better and they beat the piss out of the Steeler QBs last week, but in comes the standard second half of the year Charger Freight Train… they’re running… passing… even Steroid Shawne is getting to the QB now… this doesn’t fair good for the Chiefs… no matter how much they are clicking……but it should make this a contest! Prediction: Chargers Game Quality: **
Jacksonville at 49ers: The Jags are on a roll again… and the 49ers are a team of mass FAIL at this point, and a team in more desperate need of a QB then even Buffalo! In fact if the 49ers had a caretaker QB, they’d be the Jaguars (hell they even have matching ex-Ram WRs), but as much as I like what the 49ers are and what Singletary is trying to make them… they ain’t got enough… so I gotta make the obvious pick here and hope Frank Gore goes to town in a loss still…. (and what a crap year it’s been for RB’s right?) Prediction: Jaguars Game Quality: ** ¾
Bears at Vikings: The good news for the Bears is Jay Cutler has only thrown 4 picks in non-prime time games…. But this is Brett Favre… the world has to stop and suck his dick because he’s having a career year against a college football level of cream puff scheduling… let’s all bend over and bow down to the Fraud who’s played NO ONE (aside of the Steelers and Ravens)… so in essence this becomes a prime-time game… and you know what… I’ve taken shit for bashing Favre all year and I will keep doing so… WHERE WERE ALL THE FAVRE BACKERS BACK IN AUGUST SAYING HE’D DO THIS??? Nowhere… well fuck you then… you hopped on the bandwagon and are as fraudulent as this douchebag is now!! He’ll take his stacked team and roll all over this joke Bears team! Prediction: Vikings Game Quality: **
Arizona at Titans: This is a fascinating game… the Titans are back and finding ways to win with Vince Young and a college football type offense… it is kinda fun to watch I gotta say… and Arizona’s been doing well… though Warner’s head has been scrambled a little… gotta pray for Warner eh?? It would be oddly amusing to see Young/Leinart II though wouldn’t it?? I wanna see this game and I am looking forward to it in a big way! Prediction: Titans Game Quality: ***
820pm: Steelers at Ravens: Oh Boy… this is gonna be a ice-pack, soak in the tub and break out the bruise-cream kinda game… Charlie Batch is out… Big Ben got his bell rung (funny how after hearing the NFL talk about head injuries and all the care for Westbrook, Big Ben is being shipped out there like a cattle to the shredding machine ain’t it??).. this game means a lot since the Bengals have run away from them, and they’re sorta fighting for what will be a lone Wild Card Slot, I’m not convinced that Ben is healthy and the Steeler defense ain’t the same without Captain Dreads…. Prediction: Ravens Game Quality: *** ½
Monday Nov. 30: Patriots at Saints: Boy ESPN’s been creaming their pants at this one haven’t they? But for once the idiot hype machine at ESPN has a point…this game’s gonna have more points then John Gruden’s gonna have “I love this and that guy” references in the game (get a lil angry dude… it’s good for ya!)…I think the offenses here are a wash, though the Saints are a bit more balanced with the running game… and I don’t know if the Saint D is better but damn opportunistic, and makes things happen… and I think the Saints have too much for Darth Hoodie and the Tranquil Empire… Humble Pie comes with Gumbo on Monday Night! Prediction: Saints Game Quality: ***** (could be game of the year)
Power Rankings Week 11: NFC: 1. Saints: Still the man till shown otherwise 2. Vikings: They still win… and the more they win the more sick I get 3. Arizona: Praying for Warner instead of with him…. 4. Dallas: Winning ugly is still winning, and the D and running game seems there, could be enough in the NFC 5. NY Giants: Bounce-back win, and the best non-Division Leader in the NFC
AFC: 1. Colts: … Told you they’d bear the Ravens… *yawn* 2. San Diego: on fire and playing great, balanced football on everyone! 3. Bengals: See why they call them TRAP games? You got sprung! 4. Patriots: Darth Hoodie, making a new Death Star….. 5. Jaguars: Beating the Jets made them and maybe broke the Jets?

Holy hell... it's already the stretch run in the NFL??? DAMN... it goes too fast!!!
(and they pick a day I eat LUNCH at 6pm for the first prime time game... CMONNNN)
Well like I said.. byes are almost done.... 7 weeks to go... this is men from the boys time!!
Thursday Nov. 12:
Bears at 49ers:
This makes me very happy I have a hockey game tonight... and I don't
have to watch either of these phonies play football tonight... the
49ers are a QB away from anything now and the Alex Smith crash n burn
PROVES IT, the Bears have not been wonderful either, but they have a
QB and are actually playing some offense and the whole Singletary thing
is a nice side note.. I wanna go for the 49ers they got guts and a lil
something to them... but the QB play KILLS them time and time and time
again.... and it will this week too....amazing how it all ended at 3-0
for them??
Prediction: da BEARS
Game Quality: ** (my hockey game in Mo-Town will be better)
Sunday Nov. 15:
Atlanta at Carolina:
the Panthers had it all RIGHT THERE.... a chance to ice the Saints and
bounce back from their awful start... and it's bad enough they didn't
win, but to make it worse it wasn't a Delhomme collapse that caused it
(you get used to those by now), Atlanta is a team that is good at
beating teams they are better then (and little else) but that's all
they need to get past Carolina here....
Prediction: Carolina
Game Quality: ** 1/2
Tampa at Miami:
Hmmmm, this could be anti-football kids!! The Bucs are RED HOT after
their EPIC WIN against the Packers (more on them later).... and here
comes a team that is still trying hard to find itself...a good run
game, a decent D, but ZERO pass catching powers and a growing QB in
Henne.... and Tampa had a gift from the Packers...and Miami has
delusions of divisons.... while Tampa is waiting to get on the Draft
Clock....
Prediction: Fiiiiisssssshhhh!
Game Quality: **
Lions at Vikings:
*insert Brett Favre ass kissing here*.....and *insert Lions bashing
here*.... someone tell Stafford and Calvin Johnson to get a room
somewhere and learn some damn chemistry.... get back to me when they
DO.... Favre-a-mania makes me as sick as it did for Hulk Hogan back in
83.....
Prediction: what ya gonna do brothe....
Game Quality: DUD
Jaguars at NY Jets:
Wow... this game is kinda interesting... both teams beat up on frauds,
both teams don't get great QB pay and both teams play tough defense and
run the shit out of the ball.....this is a tough one....the Jets had a
week off and I think some extra desperation going on there....I do
think the Jets are a little bit better then the Jags though.... a
tossed nacho salad explosion could change that though :p.... this game
does have fascinating written all over it though.....
Prediction: Jets
Game Quality: ***
Bengals at Steelers:
Never have the Bengals swept the Steelers and Ravens since the Modell
Move.... fun fact... Chad 85 is running his mouth again and I gotta say
it's been fun to see, the Steelers ruined my life last week holding the
Broncos to a TD and a FG (they really did :p).... and they seem to have
some running game again in Mendenhall.... can the Bengals do it?? I'm
not fully convinced....it will be good, it will be close... but to be
the man.... they ain't the man yet.....
Prediction: Steelers
Game Quality: ****
Saints at Rams:
Talking about this beatdown is borderline cruel and unuaual punishment
and i can't do it... this will be ugly and it will not be slow... you
will not enjoy this St.Louis and it might even get bloody.... hide the
kids.... I smell a fifty-burger!
Prediction: Saints
Game Quality: DUD (you've heard about men vs boys, this is men vs fetuses!)
Buffalo at Titans:
NO TOe ... now it'a a HIP, and Trent Edwards is back?? Is Jauron BRAIN
DEAD??? Is it bad when the Titans circle a game and say THIS IS A WIN..
oh it's true.. it's damn true, the Titans seem to have righted the ship
and Vince Young >>> Capt. Checkdown anyday!!
Prediction: Titans
Anti-Football Game Quality: *** 1/2
Denver at Washington:
Fret not Broncos the losing streak ends here.. the Redskins are almost
too bad to make fun of... though you'd think Jason Campbell would
tackle better then he does with all the practice he has with the
interceptions....the Broncos look a helluva lot better in a HURRY here
with this one....not too much to joke about there....
Prediction: Denver
Game Quality: *
4pm:
Chiefs at Raiders:
If these two didn't play twice a year this would be EPIC anti-football
I swear!!!! But still it's two shit teams battling to not be the one to
have to clean the bowl.... and since the chiefs DID flush Larry
Johnson.... maybe it's an omen for them.... will the Raiders break 10
points, or 10 first downs?? I'd bet on neither.....
Prediction: CHEFS!
Game Quaility: * 1/2
Seattle at Arizona:
Arizona comes off pasting the Bears but good, and Seatlle comes off
surviving the Lions... not a good combination :p...Seattle has problems
in every non-skill position on the field and the Cards are starting to
look like NFC West winners again... and hallowed by thy name!!! I would
laugh a lil hard if Seattle won on a hail Mary... but I ain't holding
my breath :p
Prediction: Well I'm starting Warner over Hasselbeck :p
Game Quality: **
Dallas at Green Bay:
Oh the packers... the team that COULDN'T BLOCK TAMPA BAY!!!! And here
comes Ratliff and Ware and the Cowboys into town... it's not about
offense and X's and O's in this one... it's how many times does A-Rod
get pummelled by the Dallas defense... yeah they can do this and that
AND THEY LOST TO TAMPA FUCKING BAY!!! You ain't in our LEAGUE pal....
NFC East leaders ROLL like a truck through Bayonne!!!!
Prediction: even need to ask??
Game Quality: * (damn near a squash though)
Phily at San Diego:
and here come the Chargers again... it's November... it's time they
kick it into gear... and here go the Eagles... I had fans whining at me
today WAH THE REFS HAD IT IN FOR THE EAGLES... they had money on the
game... REALLY??!?! how about you tell you fat fucking walrus coach HOW
TO MANAGE A GAME AND NOT WASTE ALL YOUR TIME OUTS ON IDIOT CHALLENGES
and maybe adjust to a team or two and stop your linemen from getting
CARVED FOR LUNCH idiot!!! Yeah I'm down on the Eagles again... and
Westbrook might play and he's been AWFUL all year.....not to mention
Steroid Shawne has found the QB again... this may not be easy but it
will not be a win for Phily... let's call it ... post-world series
depression :p
Prediction: Chargers
Game Quality: ****
8pm:
Pats at Colts:
Well here it comes... the smoke n mirrors pats.... and the how the hell
are they doing it Colts? Like I keep saying I don't know how the Colts
are doing it... I get the Manning thing and all but this team has sooo
many holes it should be team Swiss... but here it comes primetime and
all... should be a good game... and the teams are kinda similar... but
this is the kinda game you think the experience of the hooded douche
should come into play and he can pull one out of his hate and keep the
best non-divisional rivalry in the league going, it will be good at
least.... we'll see this game again later me thinks....
Prediction: Pats
Game Quality: ****
Monday Nov. 16:
Ravens at Browns:
Someone in the NFL hates ESPN and I like thsi!!! This game is cruel and
unusual punishment and makes Raw and Trauma look more inviting!! hell
even the Devils game that night looks more better!!! I can't go on
about this.... i got better things to do... least the pop-gun offense
gets to reload this week.....
Prediction: Ravens:
Game Quality: DUD
Power Rankings Week 9:
AFC:
1. Colts.... blah
2. Steelers.... remember them?
3. Bengals....still kicking like champs....
4. Broncos... COME BACK KYLE ORTON!!!
5. Pats... the Evil Empire is looming.....
NFC:
1. Saints... charmed existence and karma on their side....
2. Dallas....the biggest pass of Romo's career went all of four yards....
3. Vikings... still serving: frauds and pretenders.....
4. Arizona... a wing and Kurt Warner's prayers....
5. Atlanta... still a step behind....

Damn as much as I love and treasure these football Sundays (and ask anyone how fast I toss the, to the damn curb when people fuck with these days.... yes this is part warning/part factual statement).....god damn these Sundays go SO FAST don't they??? And of course NOTHING like the joy of having BOTH "New York" teams platying at the same time again... thanks again for nothing baseball!! Stop fucking my life with your anti-sport!!
Sunday November 1: 1pm: Denver at Baltimore: This is a helluva game and I'd LOVE to watch this game.... I have no chance in hell at this of COURSE thanks to idiot NFL scheduling and the "courtesy" of no Sunday Night Football game this week....the Ravens are sliding... the defense is a MYTH, and it's been Ray Rice and Joe Flacco carrying the mail for this team this year.... but here comes the Age of Orton into town... and is there a team in sports that believes in themselves more then the Broncos do right now?? the defense is clicking... the running game is clicking... the offense... they're doing it all and people only look past this team because of Orton and the rookie coach... they are proving those people to be fools at this point... it own't be pretty and should be a battle... the Ravens kinda need this game.... but until someone stops them I gotta ride the mile high horse! Prediction: Denver Game Quality: *** 1/4
Houston at Buffalo: Awww....I'm gonna miss this game... that... makes... me.... sad :( Though both of these teams are on a bit of an upswing now... out of the ashes of Captain Checkdown and his fail only matched by TO's reality show.... Rory Fitzpatrick and all his NHL All-Star game votes have emerged and he's found ways to lead this team to TWO WINS (considering Buffalo was looking like a 3-13 team with Edwards, that's telling)... but there is still no harder team to figure out then the Texcians... each time you think they;re up, they go down... and each time they look down they WIN....I know it's in Buffalo... but I am still having a hard time buying this team....(even though they could be 5-2... really)... the Bills are still the Bills kids....this means you should probably pick them... cause I ain't.... Prediction: Texcians Game Quality: ***
Cleveland at Chicago: Ah, our patented kick/wham/STUNNER moment of the week.....die Mangini, even the crappy, gutless Jay Cutler is gonna tear you apart.....just get the goddamn ball to Matt Forte would ya? Prediction: da BEARS Gsme Quality: DUD
Seattle at Dallas: Well this is the typical Dallas game when they come in and rip up that nifty little mid-level team at home and everything looks great and you get fooled into thinking this team is good and all will be ok.... (amazing how it too mirrors my life... just wait till I start bringing the blonde in the Tony Romo jersey... really/seriously.....) no Walter Jones who it looks like it's OVER over for him... damn shame.... and not to mention it's a semi-homecoming for Julius Jones...still I can't give Seattle too much of a chance here... sorry Josh... plenty of room on the Cowboy bandwagon for ya ... want some cheese fries??? Prediction: Dallas Game Quality: ** (Hasselbeck can keep this close)
NY Jets at Miami: Two teams that have been reeling for a bit here lock up... you can kinda take the records and the last few game sout the window.... Fat Boy Junior has to b e pissed that his little defense got EMBARRASSED by the Wildcat last month, and now are without a key player on offense AND defense (not to mention Leon Washington in the special teams too....) both teams have problems all over the place.... the Dolphins could use a Ted Ginn injury at this point :p.... and this one has toss-up written all over it.....don't expect a big blow out here..... Prediction: Miami (home team and all) Game Quality: ***
49ers at Colts: *sigh* another Michael Anstett fantasy bye week....Least MAYBE the 49ers can get Frank Gore involved (and please, crash your damn car Vernon Davis....)...but I give a broke virgin (or two)... a better chance in a whorehouse then I give the 49ers here... not aginast the regular season dynamo's in Indy.... Prediction: Colts: Game Quality: DUD
NY Giants at Eagles: Two teams in trouble here.... the Giants lost two in a row and left the rest of the NFC East catch up to them... and the Eagels are getting it done... but Jesus Christ Brian Westbrook makes Marion Gaborik look tough don't he?? Least this year they got the good Dr McCoy to fill in for him... and this is a big game for both teams.... but I think the Eagles have a few more problems then the Giants do right now (though Brandon Jacobs should be a concern....).. I'll just pick the team that will annoy me more to win.... Prediction: Giants Game Quality: ***
St.Louis at Detroit: NOW THIS IS THE BAD FOOTBALL I DREAM ABOUT EACH WEEK!!! Can the Rams win a game?? Will Stafford and Calvin Johnson play??? How many mistakes can a team make before I spout tears of joy and ecstasy?? This has the train-wreck material of about any Redskin game!! BRING THIS ON!!! If you watch one game this week this SHOULD BE THE ONE!!! I want this game ten feet to my left anf the Cowboys in front of me and my Sunday 1pm is SET baby!!! I;m gonna assume Stafford and Johnson don't play and I'm going to play football God and smile on the Rams (been a long time since I smiled on St Louis after all) Prediction: Rams Game Quality: **** BRING IT!!
4pm: Oakland at San Diego: The Raiders reverted to mid-season form last week and lied down on the mat like a drunk girl on prom night for the Jets.... I don't see them doing much different this week... San Diego's been a weird team... but it's November now... usually around the time this team pops their steroids (that means you Merriman) and Hulks up and gets on a playoff run!! So what ya gonna do Al Davis when Hulk-Mania runs wild on you?? The answer is NOT cover the spread kids :p Prediction: Chargers Game Quality: * 1/2 (go Sproles!)
Jacksonville at Tennessee: OH BOY!! Afternoon train wreck football!!! This could be fun... Vince Young.... oh hell yeah!! This might be funner !!!! Sadly the Jaguars are doing too well to call this train-wreck football....and i do expect them to roll the Titans like everyone else does... but let's see what's worse...Vince Young overthrowing Kenny Britt... or Britt dropping them in his breadbasket!! I have no expectations for this game... but maybe a shining light of amusement..... Prediction: Jags Game Quality: **
Minnesota at Green Bay: *sigh*....well at least the run of luck with Fraud and the last second garbage FINALLY stopped.....and a little bit of reality set in....God I'd love to see the Packers split this fuckbag in two pieces... and I never got a chance to answer a shot that was thrown at me about Tavares Jackson vs Brett Favre.... the person who I quoted in saying that he didn't know if Brett Favre could run the offense any better then Jackson... PHIL SIMMS... that dude knows something about quarterbacks... so suck it!! (or at least find a hot girl to fill in for you ;p)....maybe I'll just keep a little bit of hope in the fact that the football Gods have some respect for Lambeau Field... and the Packers are not a bad team either....gotta give some for pride here... I'd say Favre might get confused and throw to the wrong jersey but that only helps the Vikings :p Prediction: Green Bay Game Quality: *** (not 91% of the country gets this game good though)
Carolina at Arizona: An interesting, but baffling battle... why the hell do coaches stick with players that are going to cost them their seasons and jobs at this point?? Jake Delhomme SUCKS and it's over in Carolina for him.... time to let the "Blueprint" Matt Moore (yes a TNA reference that has nothing to do with that bag of douche Hulk Hogan!)....Arizona seems to have things going again... PRAISE JESUS... and any team that beats up on the Giants is gonna get a pass from me they week after....and really....the Panthers are kinda lost again here..... Prediction: Cardinals Game Quality: ** (CMON, you can laugh at Delhommo too)
Monday November 2: New Orleans at Atlanta: Pretty good game... pretty bad town to have it in :p The Saints just look unstoppable now, while the Faclons seem to keep getting stepped on when they step up to the plate against better teams.... or the Cowboys.....and really haven't wow-ed much of anyone this year... the Saints just seem to have it all going AND they survived their little scare in Miami last week (no thanks to Turnover Ted Ginn)...I'd love to make a case for the Falcons.... but I can't..... Prediction: Saints Gsme Quality: ***
NFL Power Rankings pre-Week 8: NFC: 1. Saints....scary how you give this team an inch they take a MILE 2. Arizona....really... they're playing some defense and they're kinda dangerous now 3. Minnesota... still vastly overrated..... 4. NY Giants.... once is a slip....twice is a trend, they lose to Phily and oh man..... 5. Dallas....again solid enough to disappoint you in the end.....
AFC: 1. Denver....you don't lose mojo on a bye week 2. Indianapolis....I still don't believe... but no one else wow's me.... 3. Pittsburgh... getting healthier and they stuffed the "immortal one's comeback" 4. Cincinnati... starting to slip...... 5. New England... beating up on bad teams... that's as impressive as a fake heart smiley on facebook :p

Bear with me here... this is the first time I am trying one of these on my new netbook I got last week so the typing is a little.... weird..... 8-6 again (fuck off Raiders!!) 56-34 on the year at this point.....boy there was some DOGS last week... did I mention, fuck you Raiders?
Goddamn survivor pools.... anyway....a new week a NEW FAIL...hooray!!!
Sunday Oct 25: Packers at Browns: Really?? Ugh... I hate good team vs bad team games.... Go Packer D and Donald Driver... though the Packer D has been kinda spotty all year (and I could use some Jamal Lewis Love) yes this is turning into a fantasy football witch hunt, because I have no doubt who will win and cover this game for a SECOND! And now... breaking news... the Swine Flu is breaking out with the Browns... maybe the players can put up a better fight to that then their non-Bills opponents (thanks Rob for the update!) Prediction: Packers Game Quality: * 1/2
49ers at Texans: VERY interesting game... both of these teams show signs of FAIL and glory this year.... the Niners are on a bit of a downswing, but the bye and getting GORE GORE GORE!! back will help (it better help me too)... and each time I expect the Texicans to show up and win (like certain women in my life *ahem*).... you get excuses and FAIL around the board.... so since I expect Houston to win... I'm gonna pull the Polish Blond 180 reverse here.... Prediction: 49ers Game Quality: *** 1/2
Chargers at Chiefs: Well the Chargers laid their egg last week (BOW TO ORTON!!)... and the Chiefs are ON FIRE with their one-game win streak *psstt-Scott, it was against Washington*.... errrr oh yeah... the Chiefs won the game they are expected to win this year.... the Chargers seem to be in a bit of disarray... Merriman lost his sack skills with his steroids...the offense is good... and looks like LT is back... so he's good for a few weeks of offense....and no way in hell the Chiefs win two in a row... damn I wish this game was there last week to take.... grrrr.. Raiders.... Prediction: San Diego Game Quality: *
Colts at Rams: Holy Shit how is this legally allowable?? This should be some type of inhumane treatment to a sick dog penalty of something.... truly the Rams are what is left over in THAT kennel in the Vick house! (Thank God I ain't playing Mike this week).... the Colts bus could crash and half the team could play on broken limbs and they are winning this one..... Prediction: Colts Game Quality: DUD
Tampa Bay at New England: ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???? The Pats might break 3 figures in points here....Jesus Christ!! I got nothing here kids... this game's in England ain't it?? We still holding a grudge for the taxes on tea or something?? CMON NFL!! Prediction: Pats, by an inhuman amount Game Quality: -***** (worst rating since the Jake Roberts/Rick Martel blindfold fiasco!)
Vikings at Steelers: Really?? A GOOD GAME at one?? There's not even a fun BAD game at one now..Least there is this... don't forget... Brett Favre is so great he made the Ravens kicker choke people... I hope to hell Palamalu leaves him in a ditch somewhere.... I'm so sick of this Favre crap!!! I do wanna see if the Steelers can shut down the running game and finally make this douchebag beat a team with his dying old arm... that would be nice... the pickings are slim at one pm... I may have to keep an eye on this team....and not to mention it's in Pittsburgh, but the Steelers got problems.... bad O line... no running game and a bit thin on D... I may have to do what I don't wanna do and feed the asshole's legend here.... Prediction: Vikings Game Quality: **** 1/2 (1/2 added for bad choices at 1)
4pm: Buffalo at Carolina: NOW WE'RE TALKING!!! It's the CLOWN BOWL!!! With Special Guest Host. NACHOOOO Libre!!!! Will the legend of Rory Fitzpatrick grow in Buffalo?? (I know it's not his name but I am still voting for Rory :p)... Can Carolina find .500 after their dismal start... can Clown decide between his ex-NFL lovers?? Oh the drama, oh the tension!! Actually these teams are a LOT alike... good running game... lousy QB play, decent defenses, crazy big mouth WR's... this game should be good with enough errors to make it fun!! but I do gotta admit I don't have much faith in Buffalo, while Carolina wins this and they turn it around..... Prediction: Carolina Game Quality: *** (this could be fun!)
Jets at Oakland: You know for most teams this would be EXACTLY what they needed... on the ropes.... a bounce back game with the Raiders....a nice feel good game... nah-uh!! This is the JETS son!! They NEVER win this game they NEVER win in Oakland... that fat rolly puff coach can brag and boast all he wants till he is blue... err... GREEN ... in the face!! Until the jets show me they can win this game... they CAN'T!! This should be a wonderful turnover-fest though!! You know... I may need to keep an eye on THIS!! Prediction: TWO IN A ROW FOR THE RAIDERS!! Game Quality: ** 3/4 (NACHO and Russell make it fun!!)
Bears at Bengals: This looked fascinating till last week... the Bengals lost their guy who gets all them sacks for them (no I don't care what his name is) and the Bears come off an annoying loss when Cutler had the ball in his hands and a chance to win the game and he Tony Romo-ed it :p... and it's hard to feel for the Bengals now... the minute you think they are ok... the trip and fall and fail .... shit they lost to Houston!! I get the feeling this injury on their D is gonna hurt them more then it should... and the Bears bounce back here and hold off a last chance drive.... it might be interesting though! Worth the watch again! Prediction: daaa BEARS! Game Quality: *** 3/4 (you won't turn this off early)
Falcons at Dallas: See this game is simple... if it comes down to Tony Romo.... THEY LOSE... it shouldn't though... Dallas is better everywhere else.... Dallas' running game is deeper... the defense is less soft then Atlanta's and they have more guys who can win you games (don't get me wrong Turner, Gonzo and White are good... but I think Dallas has them all beat but maybe Roddy White) and well Matt Ryan's better then Romo... no doubt.... and their coaching staff is better... you know... the more I think about.... the more I expect Dallas to find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory... fuck them... I wanna enjoy my Sunday like I did last week... set the bar low.... Prediction: Falcons Game Quality: ***
Saints at Miami: (why is this not a 1pm game??).... the one thing i worry about here... the Saints just played the GAME OF THEIR LIVES and the odds on taking Miami lightly are VERY large here....that is a big big worry here... letdowns happen in the NFL... and the only way this is a bigger trap game is if Admiral Ackbar starts screaming it!!! The Dolphins seem to be a better and more cohesive team under Chad 2.0 now... hell even Ted Ginn is catching the ball now....and the running game is still there (no matter how deep in his heart and soul Rex Ryan thought he could stop them... and believe me... I feel real tears on that one)... this is a DANGEROUS game for the Saints.... and I just got that feeling... this has slip up all over it... it's a risky guess... but ah hell... no money on the line here.... Prediction: Miami Game Quality: **** (too many good 4pm games)
8pm: Arizona at Giants: Well the weather got nicer at least... that helps Arizona (guess Kurt prayed for warm eh??)... but still... the Arizona weakness is the Giant strength... they rush the QB, and Warner gives it up like a drunk prom date when he is pressed.... this is an ugly combo... Arizona scares no one with the run game... and I just think they don't match up and this could get nasty in hurry... not to mention the Giants bounce back when they get embarrassed like they did last week... I just like saying that.... embarrassed!! If Arizona wins this Warner really does have a direct line to Jesus' ear!!! Prediction: Giants Game Quality: ** (bad SNF game)
Monday October 26: Phily at Washington OH MY this will be ugly... the Eagles got a dose of humility last week too... the RAIDERS?? CMON!!!! Holy shit... the fucking Raiders... that like losing to a team with no wins... oh wait... the Skins did that four times over already ..... the coach is now grounded and can't call plays... holy shit they are a MESS and three-quarters, there's no way the Eagles shit the bed two weeks in a roe and they do tend to come back swinging after an oopsie like last week... don't bet against them Prediction: Eagles Game Quality: * (with Heroes AND Trauma on... good luck!!)
Power Rankings Week 6: AFC: 1. Denver... the Legacy of Orton grows.. burn in his light! 2. Colts... *yawwwnnnn* 3. Steelers... a very uneasy 4-2 though... 4. Cincinatti.... they're in EVERY game 5. Jacksonville... they beat no one, but they seem on a roll.....
NFC: 1. Saints... best team in football now.... 2. Giants.... the pass rush makes up for a LOT of flaws.... 3. Atlanta... uninspiring... but still solid.... 4. Minnesota... sick of them already 5. Dallas... it's been 13 days since they annoyed me

Hey i did kinda give up myspace... well Facebook is better :p Let's see if I can wake this shit up too eh??? Taken right from my NJDevs Preview ................................
8-6 last week (the night games are KILLING me)… not awful
(damn you Packers)…. But still…. 48-28 on the season ain’t too bad… and it’s
one of my favorite weekends of football… the Dallas Cowboy bye week….so I can
watch all the games without stress and aggravation… and more important annoy
pouting Eagles fans with the trash games of the week since we own this side of
the bar at Sun Tavern no doubt!!!
.. ..
Sunday Oct 18:....
Texans at Bengals:
An interesting game in a lot of ways…. The Bengals are
playing over their heads (look who they’ve beaten)… and the Texicans seem to
fold at any chance of adversity this year (the Jet loss… that IDIOTIC goal line
play call sequence… if you want to pound it up the middle on 4th and
1 and have you have the WR corps they have in Houston SPREAD THE FIELD… go four
wide and try to open up the middle… at least then you can check off and go over
the top to Andre Johnson.. not like he had two TDs or something Sunday?)… I’d
love to take the Texcians here since they are an every other week kinda teams,
but the Bengals really believe in themselves now and they have the QB, a
running game… defense and a passing game… and like I said the Texicans come up
softer then Dick Cheney sans Viagra (gotta love that visual eh??) …. An intriguing
watch though!
Prediction: Bengals
Game Quality: *** ¼
.. ..
..Detroit.. at ....Green Bay....:
So you get pounded by your douchebag ex-QB and then have a
whole bye week to sit and think about that pounding… fret not… the Lions are in
town… all is good again kids!!!! No ..Stafford..
and now Calvin Johnson isn’t practicing… holy hell this is not a good sign for
the Lions….hey when do they play the Redskins… shit THEY DID… FML, ....Detroit.... style… well there’s
always the Red Wings… oh wait they suck too…. Do they play the Bills?? (Please
God… I love my anti-football!!)
Prediction: Packers
Game Quality: ½
.. ..
Rams at Jaguars:
It’s a shame the Jaguars are an OK team… or this would be a
5-stat epic classic of Pigskin Entertainment… but they have some things going
for them and they gotta be pissed off after that Rodney King style beatdown
they took in Seattle last week….hell this is proof MJ-D called himself “the
second highest paid decoy this side of Reggie Bush” (his words but an awesome
slam of Reggie Bush too)…. Somehow I think the Jaguars are gonna smoke em like
it’s 4:20….
Prediction: Jaguars
Game Quality: * ¾
.. ..
Ravens at Vikings:
Damn these two teams match up well don’t they??? This is
gonna be one of those games the Ravens man up and slow down the run (though I
will be the first to admit the Raven defense is a bit overrated right now… just
ask Cedric Benson….)… and we know how I feel about the Vikings… it’s been a bit
of luck and a lot of lesser opponents, this may be the week that battered old
douchebag needs to air it out and pray his garbage WR corps bails him out again…
this is gonna be a good game and you’ll be watching it come 4:00 too… I do think the Ravens are the more desperate
team in purple here… and I think that’s gonna come into play here
Prediction: Ravens (but obviously I could be wrong, I’m only
64% accurate… something Brady Quinn can only dream of)
Game Quality: ****
.. ..
NY Giants at Saints::
Did you know that the Giants opponents until now had a
COMBINED six wins…. And ....Dallas....
had three of them?? Now we get a feel for how good the Geographically Confused “....New York....” team really is…
I think the Saints could be the best team in football right now… so obviously
they are atop the NFC.. and they’re home, and seem to be more complete a TEAM
then the Giants are now… the Saints can run the ball, make plays on defense and
oh yeah the Drew Brees guy too…. Not to sell the Giants short… if this was in
the crappy Swamp I’d pick them… but Saints at home and that team is too much…
the Saints may not lose at home all year……
Prediction: Saints
Game Quality: ***** (maybe best game of the year so far)
.. ..
.. ..
Browns at Steelers:
Note to the Browns… you may want to complete more then two
passes in this game kids J….the Steelers haven’t exactly been world beaters and
the injuries are piling up on their defense… the running game is still weak
(but Mendenhall is showing signs of life), but I think the Browns winning two
in a row is HIGHLY unlikely anyway….
Prediction: Steelers
Game Quality: ** (one for each Browns completion last week!)
.. ..
..Carolina.. at ....Tampa.. ..Bay....:
Wow, another game on the edge of being 5-star
anti-football!!!! But sadly I think ....Carolina....
is on the verge of turning it around… the schedule helps…. And ..Tampa..
seems to be getting beatdown by the beatdowns (hell they lost to ....BUFFALO.... for God’s sake!)
and the resistance seems to lessen week by week….maybe FINALLY I can get a big
Goddamned game outta DeAngelo Williams… PLEASE???
Prediction: ....Carolina....
Game Quality: * ½
.. ..
....Kansas City....
at Redskins:
OH MY GOD NOW THIS IS THE TYPE OF ANTI-FOOTBALL I AM TALKING
ABOUT!!!! If you are not a Chiefs or Redskins fan I am serious… WATCH THIS GAME…
you will laugh your ass off!! To me this is really what football is about (I
know I am weird about this)… these kinda games are FUN… where else can you
laugh and stare in disbelief at checkdowns on a hail mary pass… or a team
losing to a two completion effort?? These games offer much entertainment and
you NEVER know where it’s coming from!!!! (and they make you feel better about
your team!)… weird fun fact, never in the NFL before had a team played SIX
games to start the season against winless teams (and think about that… the
Redskins only won TWO of them…..) PUT THIS ON THE TV BABY HERE WE GO!!!!
Prediction: Chiefs (I
love punishment what can I say?)
Game Quality: *****
anti-football GEM!!!!
.. ..
.. ..
4pm:....
Eagles at Raiders:
The Giant players called playing the Raiders last week an
overblown scrimmage… honestly from the 40 seconds I watched of that disaster I
can’t say I blame them… the Raiders may have the worst offense in NFL history
(even being Captain Checkdown would be an UPGRADE here)… and the Eagles are
starting to fatten up on the cheese in their schedule…. But for GOD’S SAKE
WHERE’S THE BIG GAME OUT OF BRIAN WESTBROOK??? Time to get him in the games
too!!!! I can’t waste time on the Raiders…. sorry
Prediction: Eagles
Game Quality: DUD
.. ..
..Arizona.. at ....Seattle....:
Kinda important game in the NFC West… the winner gets to be
within sniffing distance of the 49ers who are off this week… and Seattle looked
VERY good in stomping out the Jaguars last week and added a sense of homefield
dominance again (amazing what having a Pro Bowl level QB back in the lineup
does to a team)… While Arizona did all it could to blow it last week, but the
Texicans wanted to lose more…..still a good game as these teams are pretty
evenly matched, but Seattle at home always means something….
Prediction: ....Seattle....
Game Quality: *** ¾
.. ..
Titans at Patriots:
Dammit.. what the hell happened to the Titans? Is it
Haynesworth? I don’t know.. not like he’s setting the world on fire in ....Washington.... (but playing
with that team will kill your spirit….Some of it is Kerry Collins… Drunken
Kerry is not the long term answer in the NFL anymore and the magic wore off
there…. Lord knows why they don’t even try to Wildcat Vince Young and get him
in the game somehow…. They can still run the ball like champs… but their
receivers drop the ball more then the guys I watch football do with the ladies
(oh snap… he went there!) … but still 0-5… really? In 2009? Do they play the
Redskins yet? The Patriots have more issues then a certain 2am texter I know
also… Tom Brady is having that standard “crappy year after knee surgery thing”
it’s normal… you don’t feel right in your body and you question it…they don’t
run the ball well and the defense is spotty-willy at best….. this is a winnable
game for the Titans but damn them I am done with that now……
Prediction: Pats (screw you Titans!)
Game Quality: ** ¾
(it will be a battle… I hope…)
.. ..
NY Jets at Bills:
CAPTAIIINNNNNNN CHECKDDOOOOOWWWWNNNN!!!! It’s gonna be ugly
today, I got the feeling the Jets are gonna come out with some Mattitude in
this game, after all walking down the field on big Rex is like walking into his
house and stepping on his babies… with cleats on…..and the Bills do a wonderful
job of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! The Jets can’t lose this game…
but it could be amusing…. T.O.e trade talks are all over the place…. Coach
getting fired?? The Sabres outscoring the Bills… oh it’s a mess in the land of
the ....Buffalo....,
there’s no way I can expect them to win a football game here….
Prediction: Jets
Game Quality: ** ½ (+1 star for ....Buffalo.... jokes!)
.. ..
820pm:....
Bears at ....Atlanta....:
Oh boy… the night games…now it’s all pressure to get these damn games right..
booo!
I’m still not sold on Atlanta (yes they pounded the 49ers
last week, but if you take a 10 point lead o a team that doesn’t have Frank
Gore it’s good game time), and I gotta admit, maybe Jay Cutler was the answer
in Chicago (though give the guy credit in Denver who took his place too… I’ll
get to him)… the Bears look like a more balanced team now and not one that goes
out happy to not turn the ball over and let the defense do it’s thing… this has
to be the first Prime Time game in Atlanta since Jamal Anderson, which means
maybe half the building will have fans in it :p… I just still ain’t big on the
Faclons yet… maybe they can prove me wrong this week…..
Prediction: Bears
Game Quality: *** ½
.. ..
Monday Oct 12:....
..Denver.. at ....San Diego....:....
This should be a good game… but the Broncos are playing
awesome football now… timely passing… solid running… and my God that defense!
And ....San Diego....
on the other hand…. Can’t run the ball well… the defense and Merriman is
getting called out by his GM and the D has been small all year so far… but this
is what the Chargers do.. they start slow and then look invincible come
thanksgiving and beyond….the problem is they lose here and it’s four games
behind the Broncos, that’s a SERIOUS hill to climb… but I’ve been fooled by the
“well they’re desperate they’ll put up this week” theory… and this week I SELL
on that one… should be a good game and the Chargers won’t lie down… they just
won’t win either…..
Prediction: Broncos
Game Quality: *** ¾
.. ..
Power Rankings Week One:....
NFC:
1. NY Giants: Pre-School’s over… time for a real test
2. Saints: For real? We’ll know by 4pm…..
3. ....Minnesota....: Another team with the spotlight on them….
4. Bears: Wow… two NFC Central teams in there.. oh
how times have changeed
5. ..Atlanta..: Was torn
between Atlanta/San Fran and Phily… none of them really stand out… but I guess
since ....Atlanta....
pounded the 9ers they get the nod…..
.. ..
AFC:....
1. ....Denver....:
… Broncos hear voices in their head thanks to Orton and the voices are saying
this team is GOOD
2. ....Cincinnati....:
Shock team in the NFL, no doubt about it… but the quality wins speak volumes!
3. Colts: Smoke,
mirrors, good schedule and quarterbacking… it’s a good combo, this team will
smack you in the face with its fail in the playoffs though
4. Steelers: Only 3-2 team that won… but Christ it
was the Lions…..
5. Ravens: Need to spend money bribing the refs and
not paying post-game fines….

Category: Sports
Well this was a different month in New Jersey… for the first time ever in my time as Devils fan, I'm not screaming about Martin Brodeur playing too much… or pretty much at ALL….Injuries, second stringers… crazy stuff… but it's made for a fun month and a fascinating look into future life without Martin Brodeur, and what this team will be like….
Forwards:9 (LW) Zach Parise: On pace to challenge Kirk Muller's all time single season points record still… 6 goals and 7 assists in 13 games… and it feels like he COOLED OFF… tells you how GOOD October was… again proving himself as this team's best, most dangerous and consistent player… can't say a damn thing bad about Zach Parise again…. Grade: A 14 (RW) Brian Gionta: Looks at home (finally) with Elias and Zubrus, and while not the focal point of the Devils offense a VERY important secondary line which makes this team dangerous… and yeah they're feasting on bad teams, but so what this is what the Devils NEED to do to stay in the playoff hunt while the team gets healthy… 13 points in 13 games and also 7 goals… a scorer is scoring and a +6… nothing to complain about here (BUT OH MY GOD HE'S SECOND ON THE TEAM IN SCORING… TRADE HIM NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!! Morons…), give Gio credit (or call it contract year greed… whatever… he GETS it this year and is doing well) Grade: A 19 (Center) Travis Zajac: Is holding up his end as the team's top center (well anyone who plays with Parise is our top whatever…steady on faceoffs too (no game under 40% this month)… solid on both ends… and doing his own on puck possession… maybe you'd like a few more points, but he's not dragging down Parise which is all you ask for on this line… scoring some nice goals too! Grade: B+ 26 (LW) Patrik Elias-A 17 points in 13 games… multiple players on a point a game ratio or HIGHER?? On the NJ Devils?? CMON OFFENSE!!! Really if you have a complaint about Elias' game this month… you have mental issues… his level of performance this month was A-Line level good… and you can't knock ANYTHING here! (it sucks when they all do well… I do my best work when I can get angry… what the hell can I complain about here?) Grade: A+ 11 (Center) John Madden-A Injury causality number 2003 this year… I'm not buying in the "well the penalty kill got better without him" theory…. The quality of power play got worse and this team as a whole is improving each game it seems… but 4 assists, a -3 against the Caps (not to mention NO ONE covering the best player in hockey by the side of the net with 2 seconds left)… he's just becoming a faceoff specialist now more then top-end defensive forward… hopefully having Holik back will allow the Devils to share the defensive responsibilities, and take the load off of Madden Grade: C (again, not good… but he doesn't suck either, the lack of offense is bad) 8 (LW) Danius Zubrus: OK, so what he scored all four of his goals in the month in one game?? Look what his linemates are doing!! He makes space and he controls the puck for them….the 7 assists kinda show that effort too…faceoffs were ok too, not great, but not his main worry now) and I know personally feel more confident that good things will happen with number 8 out there… possession, control and chemistry with his linemates…. That's all good things, while the stats may not show up on the scoreboard (and still he's fourth on the team… and he IS on pace for 56 points, flirting with a career high when he was with that Ovenchicken dude), he's become a quality depth players! Grade: A 15 (RW) Jamie Langenbrunner-C Still getting too much ice time, but he seems to be 100% healthy (which wasn't the case last month)… only one goal… but 8 assists and maybe the funniest damn thing I ever saw on that 5 on 3 pp with the Islanders where both defenders lose sticks and then Jamie blasts the poor bastard with a slapper leaving the dude limping and a virtual 5 on 1 moment as Martin scored!! (I still chuckle at that!)… hopefully once the damn minutes get back to the 17 minute range (that means HURRY BACK Rolston and Holik)… he should get even better, though he had a good, but not great month Grade: B+ 23 (RW) David Clarkson: He's still… "eh" to me… seems that he can be SO much better then he is (explains why the coach has such a hard-on for him… then again he's not from Europe)… 3 goals and 2 helpers… not awful for the 3rd 4th line type he is…but still not overly impressive either… should get some more pp time in front to just get his damn hands dirty raising hell in front, but that doesn't seem to be our way (but SHOULDN'T it be Sutter hockey).. only two fights in the month also….one of the few forwards who could be better….. Grade: C- 20 (LW) Jay Pandolfo: Two goals and an assist for ol'stonehands…least he was even for the month, and now with Madden out has even LESS of a role on this team… it's starting to look like resiging him was a loyalty driven mistake, but we'll see as the season goes on, another guy getting WAY too much ice time for his role (I know he's supposed to be the shutdown forward, but he's not doing that so well)….I've just not been overly impressed… if we were losing more I'm sure this would be angrier….. Grade: C- 22 (LW) Petr Vrana: Who? 1:38… 2:34… 5:33… 4:07… 3:34…6:03… 4:58… 4:14…. 7:31… 7:11…8:33 How the hell can I judge this guy?? Grade: INCOMPLETE (thanks Sutter!) 17 (LW/C) Mike Rupp: What the hell was Sutter thinking trying to have him fill in for Madden last week??? Oh yeah.. he's big, skates and North American… that makes him a diety here….two goals and an assist for the month… that will probably be a season for him there…. He's fine in the 5-9 minute role on the 4th line… give him more then that… and it's yeech time! Please just keep this stiff to a MINIMUM and I'll be ok! Grade: C- 18 Nicklas Bergfors: Has good speed, and seems like he can be a useful player on this team…again though caught in the idiot notion that young players can only play on the 4th line, and not even being thought about in a useful role and it's a damn shame…and one of the coach's biggest problems… the old boy's club trash will be less annoying when we have a full team, but in this transition time of needing to be a more offensive team, it's criminal that the team's top two prospects are donkeyfucked before they even get out of the box! Grade: INCOMPLETE 21 Barry Tallackson: Again, not giving a ton of ice time to impress… but he's been in the bigs before and that seems to be his standard M.O…. just never seems to be overwhelming… or show the flash or hope that say Vrana or Bergfors offers… but he's big and from the US *sigh* Grade: INCOMPLETE Defense:7 Paul Martin: No coincidence that this team started winning… and scoring… when Martin got healthy, he's so key to the defense… he eats minutes and makes Salvador better and adding 4 points in 8 games is acceptable offense on top of playing at a high level for 20-26 minutes a night as needed! Grade: A- 27 Mike Mottau: Joke suspension aside… oh he hit a guy and the guy gets hurt so the NHL HAS to overreact and suspend the guy… ah whatever (can I do that and not invoke the spirit of Aaron Asham… oh wait.. he had no spirit….) He's been decent again this month in his proper role as a 3rd pair defender…little offense… +5 on the month, good ice time… again nice steady and can't complain! Grade: B 5 Colin White: Colin the one-eyed wonder….+6 on the month… wow…again, like Mottau when not asked to play a top role, he's tolerable for what he is.. will still make stupid mistakes and so on, but that's just something you need to live with, he's not tradable…. Or would any team WANT him at his price… so for what you get…yeah he's okay…. And that translates into as expected…. Grade: C 29 Johnny Oduya: One goal… NINE assists.. now we're talking!!! Oduya has stepped up with Andy Greene out of the line up (though the game winner was a funny level of botch and not to mention his FUBARed quasi-breakaway in the same game).. seems to have the speed and ability to help Colin White fix his mistakes, which is also important… looks like he could be a key "X-factor" guy who can make a difference and someone who you don't really want to account for on the other team….hopefully it keeps up as the level of opponent rises this month Grade: B+ 24 Bryce Salvador: Didn't seem to have too good a month, but was without Paul Martin for half of it which doesn't help (-3 without Martin)… minimal offense, and can't really do much to make up for it when he makes mistakes… I still like the guy but wasn't the best month for him in red and white Grade: C 28 (D) Anssi Salmela: MONSTER shot from the blueline (he's going to score eventually you'd think) +2 on the month is good… and somehow this team has grown a nice set of mobile, younger defenders who can skate, play and add some offense and he's an example of this… like seeing a bunch of games with multiple shots … means the blast is getting through to the goalie... which is never a negative, this kid's gonna be a keeper… and when Andy Greene comes back there's gonna be some decisions to float around here…..maybe not 100% ready for primetime yet… but DAMN this kid has an upside! Grade: B- 2 (D-RW) Sheldon Brookbank: I don't get how a stiff defenseman gets put on the Devils top line as a FORWARD… but hey that's Sutter-hockey, I guess… more suited to be that physical winger on the 4th line where the things he can't do on defense are not an issue, but still it's unthinkable that he's higher on the depth chart then Vrana and Bergfors (yes I know and understand he fills a role of 4th line toughie… but holy shit he's not that good)… just look at his ice time… and results… it's nothing special….and the on-ice looks ain't much better… serviceable utility player though….. Grade: D Goaltending:35 Scott Clemmensen: How in the bloody blue hell did this guy become our 1 goalie?!?!? This is a sad scary situation….yeah he's 4-3, but he's been no better then Weekes except for the fact that he can move the puck a little… this guy's a career AHL guy for a REASON…but hey whatever… I guess we're stuck with this… it's gonna be scary when the bubble bursts on him… he's been ok, but the big boys are coming on the schedule….guess we'll find out.. but I kinda cringe each time there's a shot on goal….. Grade: B- 1 Kevin Weekes: I don't understand this team… they sign Weekes to be a door opener last season because Brodeur refuses to sit, but he's the insurance policy JUST IN CASE Marty went down they had a solid guy to hold the fort, and what does he get?? Garbage time in the Brodeur injury game… thrown to the wolves against Buffalo (20 shots in a period… yeah the team was shell shocked from hearing about Marty's long term injury status)… assaulted by the Red Wings… and thrown under the bus for ONE BAD GOAL in the Ranger game? The rest was a HIDEOUS display of a team skating with its head cut off…. Frankly it's bullshit and I think Weekes got an absurdly raw deal from this team and I'd not blame him for saying fuck off and never come back after this year….he gets a WEEK and he's tossed under the bus for Clemmensen?!?!?!? 2.87 gaa and 90 sv % is not awful….I kinda really feel for the dude he deserves SO MUCH better then he got…. Grade: B+ (for being such a damn trooper!) Coaching:Same garbage with not playing the rookies enough… a miserable job of penalty killing (77% killed) and not much better on the power play (14%), but the team is starting to adjust and opening up the offense (though they seemed to crawl back into the old defensive shell… MISERABLE effort with the Penguins… and letting Florida tie that game at 2 was a pathetic effort to sit on a lead), but 12-10 with this roster is a nice job at this point… but I have a LOT of concerns still here….this team is still adjusting and he barely had a full roster for a week till players began to drop like dominoes… (part of me wonders if he practices them too hard and it's adding to the fragility, but I have no proof on this)…We'll see in the future… much like Clemmensieve… I worry about this coach and I'm erring on the more negative side….. Grade: C

Back at this again!!! Always fun, always exciting to start a new season and have some expectations to it… and then soon after… it fizzles away by game ….goals… slugfests, all sorts of crazy stuff… but the roller coaster is on a down swing and injuries aside the first month of the 2008-09 season has some things to worry about!!! Forwards: 9 (LW) Zach Parise: The future of this team and holy shit the future is NOW too… 12 points in 9 games… goals in his last five, a game winner and a game tying goal too… what the hell more could you ask from this kid?? This may be the easiest guy to talk about this month… and it's a shame… he deserves more time here… but nothing to say besides… awesome!!! Grade: A+ 14 (RW) Brian Gionta: Has been bounced around already… and not by opposing forwards…. Victim 1 of the Sutter lines out of a hat shuffle… but really has done pretty well so far…people will bitch and whine "because he only has one goal" (should have had a second last night, but it did become an assist)… and leading the team in assists and second in points… not too shabby, more so for a guy with a knock of being shoot first second and third… shots lead to rebounds which lead to assists…. I like the feisty play and for a midget he really does thrive when he gets his nose dirty! Grade: A- 19 (Center) Travis Zajac: Looks like a bounce back year so far for Travis… he's bigger, meaner (from my seats he sometimes looks Holik-ish)..killing penalties… and looking like the team's best center this, again only one goal, but SOMEONE scored on his 5 helpers right?? Last year is LONG forgotten here (and remember this all you dopes that wanted to trade a 25 year old with this much upside… I TOLD YOU AGAIN… be patient with the kids!!!) Grade: B+ 26 (LW) Patrik Elias-A 5 minor penalties is not a good thing already, and seems to lost a step on his shot and is looking to help and pass first… hasn't exactly clicked with Zubrus and Vrana, and with the injuries at forwards seems to be looking for a guy to make plays with.. willing to cut him some slack based on injuries and shifting talent around him… but will need more from Patrik if/when Parise slows down….least on the bright side… Elias has 40 shots, which means the effort and opportunity IS there… just a matter of them falling in…. Grade: B- 11 (Center) John Madden-A The 3 goals is a nice start, but it seems like Madden may be slowing a bit… look at the goals scored by opponents in the last few games…. 5, 3, 6… a troubling sign and yes the defense has been spotty, but some of that falls on the checking line… blasted in the post game by Sutter as well… maybe it's a sign that this checking line can no longer be the focal point of this team's strategy anymore….does have value still as the team's lone faceoff guy too… Grade: C+ (just a bit above average.. seems about the right grade for him) 9 (LW) Danius Zubrus: Has been a nice surprise this year… the goal stats are a bit eh, but also has been shuffled around… seemed to be more comfortable and physical with Holik as his center… but this physical controlling play seemed to have continued without Bobby One-Brow around… Not really in the right mix playing with Elias and Vrana either… but the guy has a skill set and it's just a matter of finding someone to play with him when Holik and Rolston get back too…. He's been good so far though… Grade: B+ (another much improved from last year folk) 15 (RW) Jamie Langenbrunner-C Disappointing could be a word… slow could be another… rushed back from an injury when there is NO NEED to (it's October… play the kids and let the beat up guy you need in the stretch heal) 16 PIMs is a bad sign of being caught behind the play and having to cheat and heal up…. It may be a point in his career where he's going to need to take some nights off to be effective, but the old boy's club coach ain't gonna do that either…then again this could be a "he's off to a slow start and will get better come January" things… all the MORE reason to sit his ass and let him get healthy!!!! Grade: C- 23 (RW) David Clarkson: VERY frustrating player… has all the skills and tools to be one hell of a power forward… but won't get his nose dirty…. 2 goals again looks nice on the stat sheet but one was a Marty Turco whiff… the other was a NICE tip-in though… had one hell of a fight last night though… if he'd do more of that and keeping his stuff in front of the net he'd be a million times better, but I guess he's still young… personally I'd give him 21 and make him watch Randy McKay films until his eyes bled!! Grade: C 20 (LW) Jay Pandolfo: Again seems a bit slow this year… the 2 on 1's shorthanded are long long ago and probably not coming back… maybe a bit complacent after getting the new contract, but he's been slow out of the box too… not expected to score, but if this line is gonna get 18+ minutes a night… he HAS to be more then 2 assists, and again when Sutter is calling him out for a bad game (which should be expected when as many goals have flown by as they have in the last week)…it's a scary thought if these guys wear down this year…. Grade: C 22 (LW) Petr Vrana: Has a nose for deflections by the net which I like.. stands in front… get his shit dirty, but doesn't seem to have any explosion or anything in the play so far… but then again this team demands a lot on both ends of the ice and that and getting used to the league jitters are the norm (playing him on a line with Rupp is a TOTAL waste though mind you), 5 games is a short body of work to judge him on… and not to mention when the coach smells a sniff of shortening the bench he seems to be the first to go, and that seems to be more about his age rather then performance Grade: C+ (some of this is fault of the coaching staff still, more on that later) 12 (Center) Brian Rolston: Looked like he was about to find his way and got hurt… that sucks…. Grade: Incomplete 25 (LW) Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond: Nice long ass name… he can fight… he can hit… he's got an assist… but if he's playing every night… we got problems… thug-loving fans will call for him to play in Cam Janssen like fashion, but is a spot player for limited minutes and he'll be ok at that Grade: Incomplete (3 games, and probably 10 mins of ice) 17 (LW/C) Mike Rupp: Still the worst hockey instincts I've seen in a human being outside of my pickup games in Short Hills… he's fighting more which is a plus….but still… he's kinda eh… tolerable as the team's 12th forward which he seems to be… loved the fight with Hollweg last night that was 5 stars! Grade: C+ 16 (Center) Bobby Holik: Was scrappy and annoying and in people's faces and backs when he was in the game… but the broken finger came at a bad time when he could have seen more, decent faceoff numbers… will eventually chip in some points and hopefully mentors Rupp and Clarkson along the way….he was decent enough until he went down… Grade: C Defense: 6 Andy Greene: Wow what a difference a year made in Andy's play… more points in the month then all of last year… the shot is improved and two multiple assist games…. And the confidence is showing in his game as well, third on the team and first of all defensemen with a +4, and there's been a few nights he's been the best guy on the ice from the blue line…much like Zajac WORLDS of improvement over last year!! Grade: A 7 Paul Martin: Three assists isn't going to cut it over the course of a month… good thing Andy Greene is picking up the slack… has a nice rapport with Salvador and is playing like a top pair defenseman (though he did look gassed 26 minutes into his ice time last night)…the kid is coming along very nicely and his skating is better then any other defender on the team.. Grade: B- 27 Mike Mottau: Less minutes and on the 3rd Pair D is exactly what he needed… seems to have clicked with Andy Greene and the offense is coming from both of these guys nicely (hell look at the point upgrade in defense from this year to last already)… can't complain much about this guy either… off to a good start…. Grade: B 5 Colin White: Spotty… kinda playing with just one eye open (I know that's awful… but I yell way too much NO PLAY IT WITH THE GOOD EYE COLIN at games)… may never evolve into the next top defenseman the team expected… but he's ok… he just needs to be more ok then bad, and he's not been doing it that well this year… it's only 9 games, but it is troubling… but still he's a +4, that's odd… but it also doesn't account the wet soggy swiss cheese the pk's been in the last few games…. Grade: C- 29 Johnny Oduya: Seems to be okay so far this year… still the mental mistakes are back a little… and he doesn't seem to know how to use his speed and shot again (then again he's probably getting scared to death of the Wrath of Sutter…. JOHHHHNNNNNN…. JOHHHNNNN!!)… only one assist is disappointing and may be spending more time covering Colin White's bad eye then he need be doing…. Grade: C 24 Bryce Salvador: Is fast becoming my favorite player on the team… plays smart… sticks up for teammates… hits after the play… fights… you name it and this guy does it… Playing solid with Paul Martin (we call this earning the contract!)… not doing much in offense, but doesn't need to… I think this keeps up and my next paycheck is getting me a 24 jersey! I have no complaints on this guy!! Grade: A Incompletes: 28 (D) Anssi Salmela, 10 (RW) Matt Halischuk, 2 (D) Sheldon Brookbank: Salmela looked not ready for prime time… it's ok, let him bake and come back in Lowell (though he might be back now with Andy Greene on the shelf with the broken hand) Halischuk looked like he belonged with Madden and Pandolfo… this is good… Brookbank didn't kill anyone with his slapshot yet, so we are pleased! Goaltending: 30 Martin Brodeur Stupid, arrogant and ego-centric as the helmet may be (and it annoys me that he is allowed to put something on his mask that so OBVIOUSLY makes him ahead of the team)… he's really been kinda good this month… well not the last two games (and I won't go even into the fact that it's a fucking joke that he played 22 hours after the game on Friday Night too… why waste money on a backup? Came out of the box really good and hellbent on breaking this all time wins record that NO ONE really cares about (well some Devil fans might… I don't…want to set records that MATTER? Win more Cups… go get Patrick Roy's PLAYOFF win record…. Until then it's meaningless stat compilation and I'd rather he not burn his ass out in February again)… looked flat out EXHAUSTED by about shot 40 in the last game (then again that used to be a week's level of worth… sad this is the only way I say the word WEEKES… free him now!!), but the blips in the defense and goaltending aside (it is a bit troubling that he's let in some softies against the Rangers and Flyers)… he's been pretty damn good… PLAY LESS GAMES!!!! Grade: B+ (yes I knocked him down some for the helmet and the back to back garbage) Coaching: Ah Brent Sutter… where to begin?? Now let me say this.. I LIKE the guy… I stress this because it's going to sound like I don't and I want him gone… but he's doing things that piss me off so far……let's get to those -- Rushing Langenbrunner back when Bergfors was called up… Langs has been beat up, injured and showing a lot of age and wear on the tires at this point of his career… letting him take the foot off the gas and rest up would have been wise… -- TOO MUCH ICE TIME TO THE OLD BOY'S CLUB!! Yes Elias, Madden and all have been key parts of this team, but how are you going to see what these kids in Vrana, Halishuk and so on have when you DON'T THROW THEM TO THE FIRE IN KEY SCENARIOS (and it's even a bigger disgrace when you see how BAD Madden, Pando and Langs looked… more so in the last game… instead of bitching them out post game HIT PLAYERS WHERE THEY CARE… put the young legs out there and see what they got…. Every other god damn team in the league does it… not like we've been piling up Cups since the lockout! -- Lack of creativity in the offense… this seems to have changed a little with the youth… we're actually seeing speed… flow… people in front… deflections….and not to mention… I'm sorry.. it's retarded to have you finesse guys in Elias and Parise being the guys standing in front of the net while the Clakrson's, Zubrus' and Gionta's are the ones outside the paint and they NEED to be in the goalie's face to be able to make plays and finish shit off!!! -- Special Teams…. They're more like from the special Olympics… the power play concepts seem to be good and shots and traffic are flowing from it… just not bounces… I guess that can be injuries and personnel issues now as well (though I'd rather see Greene get pp time as a reward for this resurgence) -- Brent is the first second and third guy to kill someone when they mess up.. how come he NEVER comes out and praises the team as much as he kills them… the more you beat on a horse without break or reward the sooner the damn thing is gonna die on you…. Things I do like though: --This team finally seems to have some balls… re: Salvador creaming a guy who tried to run at Martin….Rupp crushing Hollweg, etc…. this team is taking no shit and won't be as soft or intmidated as they have been past years…. --The defensive pairings… White and Oduya almost by default… but this might change with Greene out… Greene and Mottau have chemistry as well as Martin and Salvador are a nice top pairing… but the minutes may need to be kept in the 22 range So all in all…. We're way better then we were last year, but an alarming sign against the better teams in the East… but the talent and mindset is there for this team to do well… but they're doing only ok….. like I said I like the guy and I think he can adjust but he better get to it.. CMON BRENT!!!! Grade: C (no comments on Lou yet, because we have yet to see how his improvements to the team will pan out)

Sorry this took so long to get out… but I tried to have Brett Favre send it and it got intercepted three times, and then destroyed twice by Phily Phans throwing road flares, pipe bombs and hand grenades at my computer!!! A busy, fun week in the NFL… sucks that because of the stupid World Series we lose a Sunday Night Football Game this week… and the British are coming with football in jolly old England this week…. And as always some must watch games…. Sunday Oct. 26: Oakland at Ravens: Sack… Sack… Sack.. safety… run the option with the back-up QB… Ravens football indeed….add in a Raider team that's LOST (Al Davis is like a less aware Ronald Regan near the end, I'm sensing a political theme here… why not… if Obama can lecture us for a half hour before a World Series game right?)… and you look and it's 16-0 already!?!?! Well seeing Joe Flacco go deep was kinda funny… but this game was LONG over by then…. Blah.. nothing too exciting here, and it tells you how weak the NFL is with the Ravens at 4-3…. Arizona at Carolina: Anquain Boldin came back and looked decent… Arizona storms out to a 17-3 lead… then Carolina remembers.. hey… we're HOME… we don't lose here… and you blink and the game was tied (Arizona defense on the road… hey Ted Catrell is now available Arizona fans…)… Cardinals kept at it…take the lead back… for all of one play with Steve Smith doing one of the all time top steps on the sideline jobs… if you can look impressive in a loss… I guess Arizona did here, I am kinda shocked the Cards hung with them… but someone has to win the NFC Worthless out there, right?? Tampa Bay at Dallas: Heh…. People keep telling me… you should be happy… your Boys won this week… well let's see… Romo's out… Witten's got broken ribs and there's talk of BROOKS BOLLINGER getting playing time next week (Good Christ when your contingency plan is two Viking cast-offs neither as good as even Tavares Jackson… yeah… yeech!).. but Dallas won, yes?? Well not really… I mean it was nice of the defense to show up… but Tampa is the blandest most vanilla thing out there since Al Gore (hey I can make political references too right??) and it really felt like Tampa was too inept to win this game more then Dallas finding a way.. and the offense is only gonna get worse…… Redskins at Lions: How the HELL did the Lions keep this close?? And how funny is it to see Clinton Portis bitch about being rested for mister ball hog Shaun Alexander (God I wish a certain DEVILS GOALIE would learn the merits of REST) ? But the Lions being the Lions just find ways to lose…. Punt returns, big plays… solid runs… Lions failing… it's in the game! Jason Campbell still has yet to throw an interception… scary…. Bills at Dolphins: Well I didn't think this was a big shot… but damn did Chad have a HELL of a game today eh? Smart.... efficient… used the running game and THREW DEEP! But the Bills didn't go down without a fight (that seems only reserved for the Cowboys)… Down 16-7 Ted Ginn Jr. FINDS SOME OFFENSE (had some big plays today too) and before ya know it Ricky Williams toots into the end zone to give the Dolphins the lead… Will Allen the gift interception (he only gets deflections cause he like… can't cover!).. Dolphin defense gets FIRED UP.. steals the ball on a 4th and 1… and Trent Edwards dies in the end zone (how GOOD has Joey Porter been this year??) and the Dolphins get a BIG in-divison win… adding another impressive notch on the resume!! Rams at Patriots: Who needs Tom Brady?? (Seems Dr Andrews does)… playing the Rams who were due to lose helps too… the Rams did make one HELL of a fight of it though and that's without Steven Jackson who's still exhausted from running batshit on the Cowboys eh? You think by the end of the year I'll stop calling the Rams' Avery "Sean" (though I would laugh if he started doing the Avery dance at D-Backs!)…needs some Vanity Fair writings! But Matt Cassel and the Pats do what they seem to always do… stiff at QB or not… find a way to win… no penalties… late 4th Quarter comeback…defensive stand with 1:20 to go… and in First Place in that AFC East….. San Diego at New Orleans via London: Least this was better then last year's debacle… rain, fish, chips, driving on the left side of the road….apparently both defenses were left in the US though… and boy did Drew Brees work to light up the San Diego defense (I LOVE the fans booing the "excessive" TD celebration when the dude did a soccer dive in the end zone… it's called playing to your crowd asshole!!)… you can watch this game and you see why Ted Catrell got fired soon after… crazy fun game with offense and onside kicks all over the place, hell even a last ditch HAIL MARY…. all you can ask for when trying to shove a game down another country's fault (just for God's sake do NOT let Def Leppard anywhere near the Lombardi Trophy!) Jets at Chiefs: Ah the Jets do amuse me… on a team that lets special olympic football teams wheelchair roll for 300 yards (in the mud nonetheless… cause ya know the mud slows them down more :p)… you just KNEW the Jets would HAVE to air it out and try to make Favre not look like a broken down old man who thinks his arm is ten years younger….and for each pretty play he made in 40 attempts… he laid more eggs then a chicken on estrogen!!! And even giving Tyler Pig-Pen 5 turnovers, the Chiefs will find a way to keep this close! And yes the Jets did find a way to come back (though Favre did try to give the guys in red the ball… maybe he was game planning with Herm and telling Brody Croyle to suck it up and play)…. But hey Favre gets the game winning TD Pass almost in-spite of himself and ESPN will rejoice… yay! Falcons at Eagles: I should almost not care about this game because I am sure block by block the city is getting taken apart by pipe bombs! I was kinda anxious to see how Matt Ryan would fare in this one with the Philly Attack Defense, and Atlanta strikes first… but McNabb + Westbrook + Kevin Curtis = too much for an Atlanta defense to handle…Matt Ryan makes one mistake too many (least Andy Ried kicks the field goal when he gets stood up on the goal line… guess you realize you're gonna be a virgin forever when enough girls laugh in your face!) and another GOLDEN BREAK with the Falcons out of time out and unable to challenge a muffed punt that WASN'T (they need to have SOME kind of rule for this… make it a 15 year penalty… the call HAS to be gotten right which is what REALLY matters… well not in the No Football League) 4pm: Browns at Jacksonville: I watched a LOT of this game (I had Garrard going in my money league I am dominating, so had to see if I hit my high score of the week bonus again… and by the way.. yes I did!), and I'm still amazed that Cleveland came out and blitzed them like they did, but David Garrard did his best one-man-show to keep this close! (his best game of the year no doubt!)… Jacksonville battles back all game and even finally ties it at 17… but the Browns come right back with a field goal… and then a fatal fumble on the ensuing kick, and unless you're playing the Chiefs, teams are going to put you away! (and even here it took Matt Jones bobbling a ball into the Browns' defender helmet) and Cleveland gets a HUGE win… and the Ravens… and a playoff sniff?? Holy shit!!! Bengals at Texans: Heh… the Bengals… we came… we saw… we lost.. hell they didn't even try to cover… the only fun in this game was the "Our Johnson is better then your Johnson" signs… though Andre has much more to play for then Ocho…. And well yuck… the Bengals just SUCK! Seattle at 49ers: Wow, what a train wreck for the 49ers… and no point in the Seahawks feeling good either… this bumps them up like 6 spots in the draft… and they still suck too!! Maybe most disappointing was the lame effort by the 49er defense… and when the highlight of the game is Mike Singletary doing a Denny Green impression on Vernon Davis (what is it with angry black coaches and post-game tirades??... CHANGE!!!) the game itself was pure trash though! Giants at Steelers: Well here was your NFL Main Event eh? It did seem to live up to it… hitting.. violence… defense….goal line stands… goal line replay challenges… but good God does Ben get more and more beat up each week (and like I've been saying they look worse and worse and worse each week).. Giants make big plays late, and the Steelers long snapper puts footballs into orbit… and geesh, it's amazing how the Giants do get these teams when they are most ripe for the picking (no Romo/Witten etc, no Willie Parker/Holmes… and so on…) Monday Oct 27: Colts at Titans: The only shock about this game is that Indy actually lead 14-6 for a while… but the struggling Colts just don't got what it takes to stop the swarming waves of Titans attack defense… but to the shock of many the Titans barely ran for a 100 yards upsetting to me too I get a chuckle of the Colts letting in two-three hundred yards a week, but I guess the Titans are still tired from the Herm-Fest last week!)… big win for the Titans and the Colts can all but kiss playoffs goodbye (could ya fire Tony Dungy already please??) NFL Power Rankings, Week 8: AFC: - Tennessee… still the best team in the league, and may have punched Indy in the face for the last relevant time this year…..
- New England… don't look now… or ask me how… but they'd host a playoff game if the season ended now….
- Pittsburgh… hey you think you can protect the big guy, just a LITTLE??
- Buffalo… saw this loss coming, don't worry they're still good
- Miami…Quality wins they can do… need to learn to beat up on the trash some!
NFC: - NY Giants: it's amazing how things STILL seem to roll their way… like long snappers….
- Carolina…steady, strong, consistent and DOMINANT at home….
- Washington… keeps on winning
- Phily… if I don't rank them some Phillies fan will bomb my car :p
- Dallas… only on the list because of the byes don't get excited……

The weekend of the fucked up finish… missed FG's count, teams pull miracles out their ass…the Texans WIN, and just general insanity all around!!! I'd call it just another Sunday but this was fucked up even by NFL Standards!!! Sunday Oct. 5: Chargers at Bills: I was all pumped up and ready to watch this game… but in true Buffalo fashion… the POWER GOES OUT and the game is kicked to Steelers and Bengals… and you'd have to beat me to death with an army of sandbags to get me to even pay attention to that mess! Trent Edwards was back (completing 20 of his first 22), and when the lights came on they knocked Phillip Rivers' lights out… Lee Evans makes a one handed grab for the highlight reels of the season! The Chargers don't got down without a fight… but the Manta curse continues and his "salvation" gets picked in the end zone down 10 points… Bill field goal… and another Rivers fumble and it's good game and I am not stating how HUGE this is for the Bills (3-0 vs playoff teams from 2007)… they played this game with no scoreboard… no replays… no game clocks…wow that had to be crazy (and explains why this one was not on TV), but fun game Saints at Panthers: Kinda saw this coming… take a team that runs the ball, plays good defense has solid receivers and put them at home where they don't lose…. Oppose them with a team that passes first second and third only plays minimal defense, and then when they try to run their RB is afraid of running in the tackles and then he GETS HURT (and my money league team has an all-pro team on the fracking injured reserve!!) and yeah this game was a given… Carolina could be the best team in the NFC that no one is talking about….. Vikings at Bears: 48-41?? WHAT??? Gus Fretotte picked 4 times… WHAT?? (Somewhere on that bench Tavares Jackson must be ready to stab himself because he's not even allowed to be THIS shitty)… funny thing is the Vikings never punted… oh wait… they did once… and it was blocked…. Then again you have to GET TO 4th Down to be able to punt!! And very much under the radar Kyle Orton is having an EXCELLENT season manning this minor league pop-gun Bears offense and actually making it kinda look good! As for the Vikings… well this year was lost long long ago… wish I watched this more…. Sounded kinda entertaining! Steelers at Bengals: First off… shame on you Steelers allowing the Bengals 10 points!!! I don't really care about this game and it's not even fun to mock the Bengals now and the Steelers needed a nice tune-up for next week when it all matters anyway…. So thank you Cinci for playing the role of young Paul Roma seeing the lights for the 38 count on the Steelers! Titans at Chiefs: OK, I got a little energy left to make fun of Herm and this awful team… tired of being beaten up the tackles by people that can fight back and hurt him Larry Johnson turns to beating on women instead (don't worry he'll be a Raider or Cowboy in 2 years) and when LenDale White and Chris Johnson run for more IN THE SAME GAME then you've passed for… ALL SEASON… yeah… you might be a Herm-a-Maniac!!! Though it is funny how no one can stop Herm-Ball with less success then Herm himself… it's like he loses to put over and show the effectiveness of his own crap offense!! Ravens at Miami: I guess this sorta counts as a revenge game… when you're a trash team even like the Ravens it HAD to be embarrassing to be the ONE in Miami's season last year and you had to think payback was coming….game was a 3-3 bore with the Dolphins moving the ball on that overrated Ravens defense (and want proof it's overrated look what Green bay did to the Colts this week!)… Chad gets pressured (someone missed a block badly) and he threw a Brett Favre like pass right into the belly of the beast and it's 10-3 just like that…the Ravens kinda ran with the momentum from there and dinked and dunked and dinked and dunked (hell even that stiff McGahee ran for 100 yards today… that's a BAD job by the Dolphins!)… and away they went…though a cookie of accomplishment for stuffing Ronnie Brown and the Miami running game all day…hell it might even be a Mrs Fields cookie!!! 49ers at NY Giants: Damn the Giants put the extra strong whiskey in JT O'Sullivan's water bottle today didn't they?? He was just DREADFUL… then again the Giants did make Frank Gore… GORE… GORE!! Into nothing more then a dump off receiver and I guess they should get credit for beating up on a feisty little team… and there it sorta is…and hey the game only cost Mike Nolan his job (and thank god it went to Singletary and NOT Mike Martz!)… with the Rams on fire with a new coach I suspect this won't be the last in-season firing either….. Dallas at St.Louis: You know it would be fitting to have such a horror show in St.Louis where I had one of my own personal horror shows for a weekend isn't it?? But really… if ANYONE wants to see the value of QB play and how much it means in the NFL…watch this game and Brad Johnson trying to pass the pass past the line of scrimmage… the offensive line was not good… but BJ (yes we call him this cause he blows :p) was Bledsoe-like in his statue-esque ways… the defense… so bad the coordinator got FIRED… hey at least Roy Williams was used to stiff QB's not throwing him the ball… so it happens, talking of coaches being fired (PLEASE FIRE WADE)… and you just know Tony Romo is getting the hell back on the field next week (he's no Bobby Holik after all!).. scary though that under Jom Hazlet the Rams are rolling…. (and thankfully the Roy Williams that does get the ball thrown at… well that's cause he can't cover leftovers with a box of tin foil…he's done for the year)…. Oi, what a MESS in Dallas….. 4pm: Lions at Texans So this dopey QB goes from running out of the endzone like the road runner from Wil E Coyote to throwing a 96 yard BOMB to Calvin Johnson?? It's ok… Lions still lose… Lions still suck and could possibly be the worst team EVER… somethings in this world shall never change eh? Good for the Texans though… 2-4 lets them slow crawl themselves back into this complete clusterfuck called the AFC Playoff Race and it's not totally out of reality for this team to make a run after all… I can't talk about such an unwatchable game… it's like sipping your friend a box of X-Lax then sticking a web cam in the toilet… I'm sure it sounds like a hoot, but then you try to watch it and it's just a massive shit in the bowl!
Colts at Packers: I've said it before… I'm high on this Packer team… I'm rooting for Aaron Rodgers and that he does well because of all the Favre drama he's had to put up with over the years … and this kinda game just felt good to see… I've not been impressed with the Colts all year (well actually ever since Tony Dungy took over down there, but we can't talk about that because it's against NFL by-laws to suggest firing a black coach, *coughMARVIN LEWScough*) but damn this was a fun game to watch… the Packer D just OWNED the Colts offense (4 catches for Wayne and Harrison) and 2 Pick-6's in the same game… damn that was just an ASS KICKING… and I'd know I watched the whole thing… as if the offense wasn't bad enough… even Ryan Grant can run for three figures on this awful Colts defense… this just in… break out the pacemaker… Colts are on LIFE SUPPORT!! Jets at Raiders: Hey here's a note to Brett Favre… remember how you complained how tough this offense is to learn and how overly complex… I'm glad to see you got it down pat since you have ALL this time to set the defensive game plan for the Lions… and hell you're even Tony Romo's PERSONAL DOCTOR NOW (you did enough for Dallas over the years with your Texas Stadium choke jobs… thank you.. move on!!) hell you're such a generous soul you even offered DeAngelo Hall some redemption after being not only embarrassed by Mark Royal but getting him on every fantasy league in the world after doing the waving pylon impression on Monday Night… but Brett says it's ok… here's an INT… I'm the Dr. Phil of the NFL!!! And you know what… it shouldn't even be about THAT in this game… YOU RAN FOR 250 YARDS!!! That is a recipe for a BLOWOUT!!! Not to mention the Raiders GAVE you 150 yards more in penalties!! (then again the Raider coach should be EXECUTED for that idiot time out to freeze the kicker call with 2 seconds left… that dumb shit play only worked ONCE and never again and people should be stabbed for even making the time out motion!!)… but then again the Jet Special Teams sucked on a COWBOY level… no no no.. not the current one… the 1989 1-15 ones… hell it was almost as bad as the Raiders…. Total brutal loss for the Jets last weekend… and you know what… thank god for it! Browns at Redskins: Nice to see a team in the NFC East I am kinda pulling for actually respond to an embarrassing loss and step up the next week and bounce back with a solid win.. Clinton Portis another retarded level good effort with 175 yards (is there a better back in the NFL right now?) … but boy the Browns DID make a fight of it… down the field with 28 seconds left and the last ditch field goal went about a million miles wide right (leasr this way the refs can't fuck it up and call it good)… and Redskins crawl out a nice win against a flat out DESPERATE team that looked on the way back up…. 8pm: Seattle at Tampa Bay Wow, a total unwatchable bore… and another add to my injury pains with Warrick Dunn (who was quietly amassing a very nice comeback season)… and Seneca Wallace who stinks too … they go to a solid, but Dancing with the Stars level boring, Tampa team and you have a dull roar beatdown, that even John Madden, Devil or announcer wanted no part of!! Monday Oct 6: Broncos at Patriots Now this one didn't go as planned… but watching it… it was kinda no shock either… you attack Denver through their Colt-like defense… stop their joke running game an bash Jay Cutler around and even the Brad Johnson-like Matt Cassel can look all world (and I do LOVE seeing Shanahan get it handed to him!!) Hell you even got a sprinkle of old school Patriot running up the score in this one… and I got my 21 points from Cutler and the Pats kicker… I call that a good night!!! NFL Power Rankings, Week 6: NFC: - NY Giants… Wonder how much whiskey they slipped in JT Drunken QB's water bottles…. (St. Louis at 2-4 still has more quality wins though!)
- Tampa Bay… not fun to watch but they do what need be done…..
- Carolina… unstoppable at home and that makes you dangerous….
- Washington… BIG bounce-back win for them, still dangerous team
- Chicago…. DA BEARS!! Almost scored FIFTY.. holy hell!
AFC: - Tennessee… still running the ball all over Herm!
- Steelers…gearing up for the big one next week….
- Bills… No power… NO PROBLEM!!!!!
- Jacksonville… somehow getting a week off in the AFC makes you a better team…
- New England… no I'm not really impressed by them, more depressed by the rest of a struggling AFC

The weekend of the fucked up finish… missed FG's count, teams pull miracles out their ass…the Texans WIN, and just general insanity all around!!! I'd call it just another Sunday but this was fucked up even by NFL Standards!!! Sunday Oct. 5: Bears at Falcons: Slow starting game with lots of field goals, until Matt Forte (and how good has he been this year??) But "Air Ryan" chucks the ball down the field… bang bang.. Falcons answer and lead by 9… and a new weird trend in the league this year…coaches get STUPID on the goal line… your first three genius plays didn't get a TD on the one yard line… you're down two scores… KICK THE FIELD GOAL… and Matt Forte gets stuffed (should just call this sequence the "Andy Reid")… Bears do actually kick the FG next time… then a rare Jason Elam miss… back come the Bears… and the AGE OF ORTON IS HERE!!! Rasheed Davis and with 11 seconds left it's over right… WRONG… another Brain Fart… the squib kick from Lovie Smith (and not to mention COVER THE SIDELINE OUT VAUNTED BEARS D)…. And they don't… and the game winning field goal WINS IT… holy hell this wasn't even a top 5 finish this week!!! Miami at Houston: What a fun game to watch here, Chad throws deep (130 yards receiving for the FULLBACK!), the lead keeps changing back and forth and left and right… EVERYONE gets in the end zone… monster day for Andre Johnson! And this game was a slugfest to the closing wire… Miami up 28-23 with 1:11 left… same old Texans, right? WRONG… ANDRE JOHSNON WITH THE 4TH DOWN PRAYER… Kevin Walter out of bounds at the 2 !!! 4th and goal…. 4 wide… (I called this play BTW)…. NO ONE in the box but the 4 down linemen… QB DRAW AND IT'S GAME OVER!!! Keep your heads up high Dolphins fans, this was a tough loss but Houston was SO DUE in this one, and you guys will be alright! Baltimore at Indy: Geesh… run over by the Play-Doh soft Colts… dominated on both sides of the ball… the luster is cracking off Joe Flacco in record speed indeed…Peyton and Eli looked like they switched places in this game, and the Ravens just had NOTHING in this one… and I have to admit I kinda enjoyed that…. The chirp has gone to slurp in Baltimore!!! Lions at Vikings: All I need to know about this game is watching that dope Lions QB who needed smelling salts for this game… watching him roll out of bounds…. IN THE BACK OF THE END ZONE… now that's an EPIC fail….this game was 3-2 at the half… Gaborik with the 2 goals for the Wild, and Rafalski and Datsyuk(2) the Red Wing goals… but this tells you about the Vikings, when you can't drive down the field on the LIONS, the QB and offense still stinks like a car filled of rotten eggs! (not to mention you kick your winning field goal on one of the LAMEST pass interference calls in history… then again the refs don't get a missed field goal right at about 6pm, so why get this right… man the refs have been BAD this year)… one game winning FG later… and the Lions do what they do best…defeat from the jaws of victory!!! Oakland at New Orleans: Nice to see the Raiders break the formula… instead of going up 17 points and then choking and crash down to the Earth… the Raiders simply chose to suck all game here! Reggie Bush is the fastest player to 200 catches in league history.. and this was no homecoming for Jamarcus Russell… Bush ran and scored all over the place… maybe McFadden could take lessons eh?? Bengals at NY Jets: Well that's a bad sign for the Palmer… he's going to see the Mets doctor about his elbow… put him in the books!!! The Bengals had like 18 times to take this game and put themselves in the drivers seat.. but not with Rory Fitzpatick as their QB (guess the fans voted him to back up Carson Palmer and this time the rigged voting was listened to eh?)… anyway… when you're the jets you can't take any gift win to the mouth lightly right?? Carolina at Tampa: Boy did Delhomme shit the bed in this one eh?? Tampa's D was buzzing and all over the place (and get Brad Johnson in two weeks)…Jeff Garcia plays well (and look at this division… 4-2, 4-2, 4-2 and 3-3.. the Wild Cards in the NFC may come South and not East)… and again, Tampa don't excite, but they win… and still without their one legit WR threat in Galloway (but don't look now… Warrick Dunn is back and producing well again!!) St. Louis at Washington: You could see this coming… finally the Redskins give up some turnovers….Campbell still played well… but the Rams were all fired up and ready to spring the trap in the trap game… but the Redskins come up with a late TD to go up 17-16 with 1:00 left… same old Rams?? NOT THIS WEEK… long bomb…and even a stupid penalty can't stop the game winning FG from raining on the Redskins parade!! It just goes to show in this league when you play so up for two weeks in a row and even slip a little… you can't win week to week… it's why NO ONE goes undefeated, ever…… 4pm: Jacksonville at Denver: I like it when the big game of the week goes in my direction…the Jaguars attacked and pounced and went at it… turnovers all over the place….fumble… fumble.. pick… pick… 3 drives in a row are Denver turnovers and the Jags storm out to a 10-7 lead, that MJ Drew busts out and makes it 17-7, and the one time the Broncos actually STOP them, Reggie Williams takes down D're Bly.. who gets called for contact?!?!? Who took the NFL refs and replaced them with the NHL ones?? And Denver just can't get the ball back (ANOTHER lame pass int. call… but then again.. even up the Charger game much?).. MJ-D runs it out and a BIG win for Jacksonville who can sniff wild card and 4 of 5 games looking VERY winnable Dallas at Cardinals: Quite possibly the most bizarre fucked up mess of a football game you will EVER see… game starts with both offenses playing like ass for almost the whole first half… then Tony Romo gets sacked and fumbles in the end zone… but the review shows one of the worst rules in pro sports… the "tuck rule" (feel that burn Raider fans?) and 14-0 Cardinals becomes 7-7 in 3 quick passes…. Then a botched kickoff and it looks like when Dallas recoveres it's a gimmie field goal… WRONG… Nick Folk rips one off the post in true NJ Devil fashion! Team exchange TDs to set up the 4th quarter of retarded…Arizona storms out to score 10 straight points… Dallas sputters until what you would think is the last drive of the game… 2 minutes to go …. Romo dumps off to Barber… breaks a tackle…. Starts moving…. Open field… people in the bar getting pumped up…. I pull a Randy Quaid "Ah, even if they came back they'd blow it in overtime" (boy Alcohol does speak the truth eh?)… Dallas kicks off… run…stuff…run… stuff…. Warner rolls out on 3rd down and lets DeMarcus Ware get his obligatory sack in almost Favre/Strahan like fashion…. Dallas with the ball… no time outs….3rd and 11… 21 seconds left… Witten… open…. First down at the 38 … run run run run!! Romo gets there and spiked the ball for a prayer… ARIZONA IS OFFSIDES (and it takes 15 minutes to review this and figure out the ruling?!?!? It's 5 yards and the clock stops… what the hell is the debate?? Thank God they don't need to call Toronto for permission though)… so we figure it out…. And here comes the field goal…. It's BLOCKED… wait… Arizona called time out (cause yeah waiting an HOUR to kick the fucking ball wasn't enough of a wait for Nick Folk, and be fair…the Dallas O-Line stopped playing when they heard the whistle… well maybe not based on OT..)…. ONE HOUR LATER they kick the fucking FG and win the toss for OT… incomplete…sack… epic fail later…. They punt… the punter takes a YEAR AND A HALF to drop the ball to his foot (yeah no urgency and again that's COACHING) the punt not only gets blocked… but he kicks the dude in the nuts with foot AND BALL… rolls in the end zone… debacle finished….. I really wish this game was without logos on the helmet, I'd have enjoyed it a million times more!!! Add some side notes now…. Tony Romo breaks his pinky… Favre calls him and tells him to suck it up and play through the next 4-6 weeks…. Adam Jones becomes Pac-Man again and gets into a scuffle… but he gets suspended for being in the vicinity of booze at a party… what the hell!??!? (that's kinda weak, put your bias aside and think about this one)… the punter got what he deserved with a broken foot from that play….and oh yeah… Brad Johnson, the guy who makes Chad Pennington look like Dan Marino… never a dull moment in Dallas…. Eagles at 49ers: Weird game… the Eagles looking to cruise… wanting to go up 20-9… but the field goal is BLOCKED and run back for 6 (why you try a 40+ yard FG with no leg Akers is beyond me… more on that later…)… and the block inspires the 49ers who even REMEMBERED VERNON DAVIS IS ON THE TEAM!!!...Nicers up 26-17!! But back come the Eagles (where's the McNabb injury dammit??)… JT O'Sullivan is picked… stop putting whiskey in your water bottle!!!... O'Sullivan turns it over AGAIN (and how did the NFL Network NOT show this??).. Akers goes to kick a FG to out the Eagles up 7… the kick is wide left… like on a Scott Norwood level… the ref UNDER THE GOAL POST called it good… how… why… guess he was drinking from JT's bottle eh? Nolan challenges the FG… 5 replays show it went left EVERY TIME… and they call it GOOD?? WHAT THE HELL?? Anyway… 49ers still get a chance to tie… pick-6 … game over…. (I'm still tired from the Dallas game….) Green Bay at Seattle: Much like the Lions, the Seahawks seem to be a universal cure-all for the world this year.. and they really offer little resistance in this one… hell even Ryan Grant ran the ball some as A-Rod dropped A-Bombs in Seattle like days of long long long ago! Add in some Charlie Frye (God knows how he too has a job still)… and yeah… SQUASH!!! 8pm: Patriots at Chargers: There is no uniform cooler in the NFL then the powder blue Chargers!! And boy the Pats better gets used to this… teams are gonna take it back off on them for the trash they pulled last year and payback is a nasty lil bitch… then again… when you pass 4 times on the goal line and Matt Cassel does the deer in headlights… um.. yeah… this was an ass kicking and a small level of redemption for San Diego… though gotta love Belichicken… bag of douche to the end… 3 seconds left… down 20… on the 5… and he calls time out to throw another duck outside of the endzone… you gotta laugh at that!!! Monday Oct 6: NY Giants at Browns: FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME it's a long bomb to Braylon Edwards… and Jamal Lewis punches it in… and the Browns STORM out and never look back in this one… all fired up at home and the Monday Night Crowd! Eli out of sync... Browns all pumped up... and it was just an inspired STOMPING (which amazingly puts the Browns back in business at 2-3... and all of a sudden the way Dallas stomped them looks pretty good eh?) have to admit with Rangers/Devils and Heroes on... and a lack of faith in the Browns here, and then not wanting to screw it up by watching it.... I kept away from this game.... wish I hadn't though, Cleveland's not been this happy since... like... ever!!!! NFL Power Rankings, Week 6: NFC: - NY Giants… still "the best team in the universe" don't worry the insecure fans will keep reminding you :p
- Tampa Bay… solid solid and more solid each week
- Arizona… why the hell not?
- Atlanta… 4-2, most people thought it would be 4-12… go figure
- Washington… the trap was sprung big time…..
AFC: - Tennessee… best team in football picked a smart week to be off eh??
- Steelers… seems all the good teams kicked their heels this week….
- Bills… CMON EDWARDS!!!!!
- San Diego… well the good Chargers at least….
- Jacksonville… back on the map again!
