i'm sorry i'm late with announcing the winner,

this was probably the hardest decision ever.  i think that any of the runner ups deserved to win, but unfortunately i only have one drumset.

AND THE WINNER IS!!!!!

I picked this video because I thought it encompassed everything I wanted to see.

It was embarrassing, it was creative, she had my face as prop, she got other people involved but still sang the song herself in a ton of different places (the grocery store, the mall, highschool, millenium park in chicago, the park, the library...) and overall it was a really entertaining video to watch
but most importantly... SHE SANG ON A GROCERY STORE CONVEYOR BELT!!!

So congrats!!! You've won the grand prize...

The 5 Runner Ups
( who each win tickets to see me on the Fall Ball, a tshirt and probably a bunch of other goodies because these entries are so good!! ):

1. Ginger, this was a really really close contender. thank you so much for spreading the T$H love all around your campus! i thought it was amazing how many people you got to sing along, and dancing in the fountain looks so cool!
i'm sorry i don't have two drumsets to give away cuz i thought this video was awesome!

2.  Emily definitely had the most confidence :) the part in the apple store is so awesome!!! and i was so freaked out when you started singing to me at the plano amphitheater show  hahahaha.. again.. another amazingly close contender :(

3. i think this one is definitely the funniest, good job guys. and for the record, i approve of the teddy bear

4.  mall of america!!

5.  i picked this one because i thought it was the best of the apple store only entries and i love the old guy that doesnt even know whats going on

To everyone else who entered, thank you so much! Seeing these videos was awesome, and I hope you had fun making them! I feel really bad about having to pick a winner, haha, so please dont be mad at me if you didnt win.
remember - at least you get a free t-shirt, which is pretty awesome.
(we will be emailing everyone this week about the shirts and other prizes)

CLICK HERE TO VIEW ALL THE ENTRIES!!!
leave comments and let them know what you think of their hard work :)

see you guys on the fall ball!!!!

my new cd is out!!

here's where you can get it:

ITUNES!!
Any Hot Topic store - on sale for only $9.99!!
The Secret Handshake Online Store - we ship worldwide if you live outside the U.S.!!
Best Buy stores
Smartpunk.com
Interpunk.com
Any Hasting store
Your favorite local record store

i hope you guys can pick up my album!! i know it's really easy to find it online for free, but it would really mean a lot to me if you could choose to support me and my music instead of stealing it :)  besides, it's only $10!

i know it might sound greedy for me to ask you guys to buy my cd, but i just want you to know that i'm not the kinda guy who's gonna get rich and famous off of this stuff. i just want as many people as possible to hear my music, to have fun, jam out and dance to my new cd. i recorded the cd at home, i wrote all the songs by myself. i didn't have a producer or a co-writer or a label telling me what to do. and by buying the cd and supporting me, you are essentially supporting a very DIY way of making music. you're supporting honest music. you're not supporting a formula or a record exec who's trying to create "the next big thing"
if i sell a decent amount of cds, together we can show everyone that music doesn't have to be about fame and fortune and getting internet popular - but it can be about MUSIC!!

i also wanna explain something to you guys about why it's important that you buy it today, or tomorrow, if you can.
all the cds sold today or tomorrow count towards "first week sales"
and whether i like it or not, first week sales are really important to my "career" because it basically shows other people and bands whether or not i have fans (even though I know i do and I know that you guys are amazing)
if my first week sales are good, people get excited about my band and my music and they'll want to take me out on tour and put my cd in more stores!
so the better i look the more i get to tour and the easier it is to find me cd. it also means i'd get to tour with more of your favorite bands.
so i think that helps us both.

anyway, sorry for getting all SERIOUS AND EMO
thanks to everyone who has already bought the cd and i hope everyone else will pick it up!

ok so this story is from our first real tour ever...

it was the 3rd of july and it was a sunday...
we drove from new mexico to phoenix to arrive at some crappy club to play to like 10 people.
it was miserable...
just before we got to the club the van started like chugging really hard.
it just sounded like it was about to die..
and then it did..
sort of like it was out of gas...
so we filled it all the way up...
and it did it again..
so we called Bethanys dad who knows a thing or two about cars. hahah
anyways, he tells us he thinks its the fuel pump..

okok.. so fast forward a few hours..
we leave the show.. and nothing is open because it is
A. the 3rd of july..
and B. a sunday////

so we drive to autozone.. (for those of you overseas, its like a do it yourself repair place)
we had no idea but we were in the ghetto.. (van beuren street in phoenix)
and it was dark out...
we found the fuel pump part but needed someone to put it in...
so this guy tells us he"ll do it for 100 bucks..
NOW...
he tells us.. that the fuel pump is inside the gas tank.. and that we need to syphon the fuel out and then detatch it so that we can change the pump and be on our way...

so we get a hose and start to try to suck the gas out...
its kind of tricky but can be done...
so i try at it and no luck...

the guy who is "fixing" our van comes over and kinda shoves me out of the way and says in a super thick accent, "i do it!"
haha
so of course i let him try...
3 seconds go by before his mouth is FULL of gas...
its EVERYWHERE>
all over his face, in his mouth..
and im dying of laughter..
i couldnt help myself
it ruled. hahahha
so we're all laughing and the gas is finally coming out and we're thinking YAY.

about a minute goes by and we havent seen the repair dude,
so we walk around the side of the van and hes sitting down and is about to light a ciggarette!!!!!!
hahah
we all screamed NOO!!!!!! hahah
and stopped him...
that probably would have killed us all.

anyways.. liekke 6 hrs later we finally change the pump and get on our way to san diego to watch fireworks by the beach...
it was one of the most intense but totally fun times of my life.
a dude got gas in his mouth... hahahahha

anyways..
this is another pointless story,.

but ive got more still...
enjoy

ok,
so i was telling some stories to a friend of mine the other day and he said they were so retarded that i should write a book...
i dont know about that,
but i figured i would just start posting one every once in a while for your enjoyment...

here it goes..
the year was probably 2005 or so..
i was still on unsigned artist and touring in a crappy old grey van...
anyways, i had this great idea to self book a full US tour and it ended up bring horrible,
bad shows, no money.. but i was still having fun...
the same couldnt be said for our drummer at the time and the guy who was doing sound for us.
so they flew home.. leaving just me and my girlfriend(now fiance, yes i got engaged, weee)

anyways,
so it had been a rough tour sorta.
maybe like 6 flat tires so far... so you get the picture,

ANYWAYS,

so we played this show in Mobile, Alabama,
at this coffee shop.
and it was us playing to like 15 people max. haha
anyways,
after the show one of the bands was kind enough to let us stay with them,
and so we did it,
when we pulled up to their house,
they said to just park on the grass of their lawn instead of the street cuz it would be safer..
and well i figured ITS ALABAMA SO WHY NOT.
hahahhaha
so we went to sleep.....

THE NEXT MORNING...
we wake up...
and i go out to the van to start it and leave...
when i notice that the entire van floor was kinda moving....
upon closer inspecition.... i realize that there are tens of THOUSANDS of ANTS!!!
ANTS!!! everywhere...
we had parked the van on an anthill...
and they were PISSED
hahahhaha

so basicallly we had to drive to the next show...
and if you use an antkiller you cant breathe it in...
cuz its poisonous..
so we walked to the store down the street,
and bought a natural ant killer...
hahahah
so
we killed all of the ants( WE THOUGHT)
jumped in the van and went..

so now im driving like 75 mph..
on the highway...
and i feel this little thing on my face..
and its an ant..
so im freaking out and trying to drive...
before i could get it off...
the ant goes into my eye!!
MY FREAKING EYE...

i had to pull over and put water in my eye to get it out,...

this story doesnt really go anywhere..
i guess its kind of a story about killer ants...
and alabama...
and parking on the grass.

this is my first attempt..
they get better from here i think

IF YOU DIDNT READ PART 1 here it is

so there i was...
first tour down..
it was just me in a car,
i came home and bought a laptop... it was a crappy ibook g4. and i got reason 2.0 (so old) hahah and anyways, i learned to start making electronic music,
at the time everything i was making sounded alot liek the postal service and styrofoam mashed together in a sea of being 19. LOL.

but ya.. i worked odd jobs. ( i was a nanny for a summer )
and then later i was a debt collector. you know the guy that calls you up to make you pay your billz.

anyways,
so i saved up and bought a van, went on tour.. coast to coast. heres a picture of me and the van in california.
van

also here is a video we made for the song coastal cities...(old versionLOL)
man.. i looked dumb. LOL

im not gonna lie. the tour was rough. it was self booked...
we hardly ever got paid.
the van didnt have air conditioner.. and it was loud...
we didnt have enough money to stay in hotels or anything and so we (my gf and i and the dudes we had on tour with us at the time)
SLEPT IN THE VAN.
ALOT.
IT WAS HOT.
WE HAD LEATHER SEATS.
hahahhahhahaha

here is a picture of what me sleeping in that van looked like. hahaha
Photobucket
but whatever.. we made the best of it... and had fun, kinda.

ANYWAYS....

so i came home from that tour.. and began working on demos that would (about 2 years later) be released as ONE FULL YEAR.

i think i want to space this story out a little more
i think its a good one and shows that not everyone gets things handed to them.
there are alot of people that email and ask me how i got my start and i think this is pretty much it.
so enjoy.
