All I can say is I'm sat here, dog tired, unshaven, hung over, and very, very happy.
Two of the most enjoyble gigs we have done in a very long time (oh heck- we enjoy them all!), but these two were just so, so much fun.
Firstly, Plymouth. The venue is practically brand spanking new, so lacking the usual beer stains on the carpets and nicoteen encrusted walls we've come to know and love over the years; the sound was exelent, and Annie- our host for the evening looked after us like we were long lost friends returning from a sea voyage- or something like that- I'm none too coherant right now (if in deed, ever am...)
Annie- we're so damned greatful- great gig, great venue, great sound and just amazing hopsitality- it's great to be made to feel that welcome!
Then, after a parking ticket and a wander around the Elizabetian sendour of Plymouth's Barbican (which quckly deveolved into a steak eating frenzy- well, what did you expect from us?)- a short drive down the road to Exeter's North Bridge Inn.
Eddie- our host- looked after us once again with such wonderous diligence that we almost upped sticks and just stayed.
Who knows- maybe one day- a patch of land, some sheep, chickens- dogs in the yard- our own Mudlow ranch...
All a man needs are dreams- and a dog, maybe a boat....

One of the greatest things about other people going on tour is that we get to just sit back in our own little hometown by the sea here, and play with some of the most amazing artists from around the Globe.
This time around, it was Brooklyn's Peg Simone, and man- what an experience!
It is rare for words to fail me (as regular readers, plus anyone who's ever been cornered by me in a bar after a few pints of Guiness will tell you...), but this woman's voice is to die for.
Just once in a while, you go to a gig where the audience just stops what tey are doing for 40 minutes and just listen intently; in fact, the last time I saw that happen was with Sandy Dillon (who we have also had the pleasure to be on the same bill as- just good fortune, I guess...).
Ok- it's a beautiful, low lit intimate venue- this helps, but to be able to command a full room to that degree takes a certain something; most folks seem to forget why they've gone out these days, and chat merrily about their new i pod; just a sorry sign of the times these days, where our attention spans have just wandered off into oblivion somewhere... sorry- where the heck was I just there?
It's a privilage to play with one of NYC's finest- a woman who has graced stages across the great North American continent just a short ride from our own homes.
Oh- we played pretty damned fine too...
