Paintball Sports Promotions is excited to announce that the 2009 Chicago Open will be returning to the Bolingbrook Recreation and Aquatic Center June 24th-28th. After four hugely successful events held at BRAC, we're looking forward to returning for a fifth year.

BRAC is conveniently located in Bolingbrook, IL less than ten minutes off of I-55 about half an hour from both major Chicago-area airports, O'Hare and Midway.  Both airports are easily accessible for travelers with over 56 passenger airlines operating out of the two.

The city of Bolingbrook is anxious for our return and has much to offer teams and players, including numerous hotels and restaurants that are just minutes from the venue. Pelican Harbor Aquatic Park, located adjacent to the venue site, is a popular destination for those looking to beat the heat or relax after a day of intense competition.

The Chicago Open is the second largest event of the year, with over 2,000 players in attendance last year.

Well it's here.  This weekend is Memorial Day!  And to celebrate the holiday, and the fact that most of us get an extra day off this weekend, we're having a very large sale.  Over 10,000 items on our website are on sale.  That's like... a lot.  All these items are 20, 30, and even 40% off of the already marked down price.  David Lee Roth would shout an "OH GOD!" if he knew.

Hey hey!

Just something quick on Etnies Day.

We will have a spine ramp here, and a launch box with a grind rail.  These are for the pro riders who will be present.  Due to a multitude of reasons, no visitors will be allowed to ride the ramps, unless they also happened to be a pro rider.  You will, however, get to watch pro riders do some pretty neat stuff on them.  So there.

Just a quick update, Actionvillage is partnering up with the Dew Tour this year! The Dew Tour is coming to Chicago June 26-27th, during the Taste of Chicago. The Chicago event is BMX ONLY.

For those of you who don't know, the Dew Tour is made of 5 major events that take place over 5 months.

The first two stops will focus on single sports (BMX at Stop 1 and Skateboarding at Stop 2), with the last three stops featuring all sports: skateboarding (park and vert), BMX (park, vert and dirt) and freestyle motocross. The Tour awards champions in the six disciplines with the Dew Cup at season's end based on a cumulative points system. There is $2.5 million in prize money – the largest in action sports – and an additional $1 million bonus pool based upon year-end standings. The Dew Tour is broadcast on NBC, MTV and USA Network, as well as distributed worldwide, in over 100 different countries! At each Dew Tour event there is also a live concert featuring top artists and a huge Festival with video gaming, BMX and Skate interactive courses, giveaways with tons of new products to try out, and the list goes on and on. You also have the opportunity to get autographs and meet your favorite athletes!

More than 150 of the top action sports athletes in the world will return for the fifth season of the Dew Tour to compete for the highly coveted Dew Cup. Last year’s 2008 Dew Cup champions include Adam Jones (Freestyle Motocross), Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert), Daniel Dhers (BMX Park), Cameron White (BMX Dirt), Pierre Luc Gagnon (Skateboard Vert) and Chaz Ortiz (Skateboard Park).

In each discipline (SKATE, BMX and FMX), athletes who qualify into each event (Vert, Park, Dirt or FMX) receive points based on the Final results from that event. At the conclusion of each event, riders are awarded points corresponding to their final placing - and will be ranked on the current Dew Tour Rankings.
