Thank you to everyone who came out to Above The Grinds last Friday.  We really enjoyed playing for you and having a chance to visit.  Thank you also for your support and encouragement.

We will be playing at The House Cafe in DeKalb, Il on Tuesday, May 26th from 7:30 to 9:15.  The House Cafe is located at 263 E. Lincoln Highway (Rt. 38).  There is a $5.00 cover charge at this venue. We will run through some of the sets we will be performing at the festivals in Kirksville, MO and Brooklyn, WI.

Hope to see you there!

We have uploaded some songs from our new album, Tru-Blue. "Truman's Ridge" is the first instrumental we wrote as a band. We start our shows with it. Like a lot of our ideas and arrangements, it started with one of us bringing in an idea (in this case Bruce) and then everyone else building on it. Steve wrote the lyrics to "Mexican Prison" when he spent a month this winter on a job assignment in Mexico. Mark woke up in the middle of the night (I think it must have been after a late night snack of anchovy pineapple pizza) and wrote down lyrics for "Shallow Grave." Three or four revisions later, we ended up with this uneasy listening song. Since we don't really yodel, we added a minor "C" part to "In the Pines." "Light At The River" is an uptempo gospel number and "Good Woman's Love" is just a pretty song. If you get a chance, let us know what you think of them. You can order the new CD (available late March 2009) by contacting us by e-mail (trumansridge@yahoo.com) or by seeing us at one of our performances.
We hope you enjoy the music. Thanks for listening.

Hi all,
It has been a great first year for us. We are playing again (Steve is back from Mexico), and we are having a lot of fun. Thank you all for your support. It is a pleasure to see you and to be able to play for you. We are lining up places to play this season. They are listed on the schedule on this My Space site. We will be updating and adding more as we finalize jobs. We still have open dates, so if you know of anyone looking for a band, please give them our e-mail contact. (trumansridge@yahoo.com)
One of the more exciting things we have been doing is recording our first CD. We have been working with Sam Beckley at Gremlen Studios in Aurora. The CD is just about finished and should be released in March. It is titled Tru Blue and contains 17 songs including Fox on the Run, How Mountain Girls Can Love, Little Maggie, By the Mark, Light at the River, Rocky Road Blues, It's Mighty Dark to Travel, and Good Woman's Love. We have also included our own arrangement of In the Pines and four original songs. If you are interested in ordering the CD please contact us at trumansridge@yahoo.com.
We would enjoy hearing your reaction to the new songs on our playlist.
Thank you for listening and we hope to see you all soon.
