It's too early...

We're in the studio right now, Rusty and I at least, preparing for our third day of recording. We're hoping to track the drums for the last four tracks. It's a sprint to the finish, so to speak.

Last night was a late one. We didn't leave the studio until 1:30am, but we left with another four songs in the can. If you're keeping track of the score -- and I know you are -- you may have noticed that there will be a total of 12 songs on the album... and you may be right. Don't put it past us to throw in a surprise or two... but don't hold me to that.

In all honesty, we probably could have gotten much more done last night, had it not been for that 2 hour Wendy's break...

I'm looking at Rusty right now, and he looks sort of like a deposed communist leader... or a cockney pickpocket... but I guess that's kind of typical for Rusty.

We're also gnawing on some day old pretzels, but you put 'em in the microwave, and it's a beautiful thing.

Still waiting on Eli to get here. It's a bit of a Winter "Nightmareland" outside, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's delaying our drummer a bit.

Here's my little aside about snow: I hate snow. I say that unabashedly. It's cold, wet, and it makes a mundane thing, like driving across town, feel like crossing the Atlantic. Some day, I will live in a land where snow never rears its ugly head... Like Georgia.

More pictures to come....

cheers,
The Bass Player

Recording for the new album is officially underway.

Last night, the band and I braved icy roads, and several yetis, to make it to PLASTIC ROOM STUDIOS where Mike Cervantes , equally as scary as a yeti, welcomed us in out of the cold to record drums.

The end result: Drums for 4 songs in a mere 6 hours!

Tonight is more of the same.

I've posted a photo album of last night's session and will continue to keep you posted with a blog and pictures from each day, maybe a video or two to boot.

cheers,
The Bass Player
