So I just left the Princeton Record Exchange with my requisite 10 new(used but new to me) CD's and Im loading them into my ipod now.   This is my childhood record store, I spent hours in this place checking out the latest from the masters of Rock.  Making that all important $7 album purchase....$12 if it was a double.  This was huge for a 14 year old punk kid with his birthday cash in hand.

Yeah, I know, Im a dinosaur.  But screw downloads, I love the tactile sensation of the actual product in my hand.  I can read about the players, I can show my friends and my kids.  I just dig used CD shops, they're awesome.

P.S.....yeah, I shamelessly gave them a comp CD hoping they'll play it in the store someday.  If they do, I'll know I've arrived.

So we all know about Pandora right?....if not check it out at www.pandora.com such a cool site.  If you like a particular band and punch in a request to listen to that band, Pandora's "smart" computer will then recommend a bunch more music that you might like as well.

Well, they're a very selective company and get 100's of bands a day wanting to be played.....and they approved us as Pandora acceptable!!!!  So go on and sign up for Pandora, it's free.....and stream some CWB while you're at it!!!  Peace, CW

Beginning in October, CWB has planned a much needed break from the rigors of the road to record our second CD.  With an action packed year of touring under our belt (covering North Carolina to Maine and many points in between), we're ready to begin the sophomore CD.  With lots of new material to choose from, a solid second offering feels like a lock.

Additionally, there have been whispers of a DVD or video blog, chronicling the recording process, showing some tales from the road and holding some band interviews.  It should be a fun project.  Stay tuned, Cheers, Charlie W

Hey all,
As we kick off our spring business, we started over at a great spot in Erie, Docksiders. Scotty, one of the coolest club managers a guy could work with, hooked us with a case of Yuengling Lager and let us rip until 15 mins before closing. Bands, if you've got an act that kicks, and you want to play a GREAT crowd at a classic bar, Docksiders in Erie is your spot. Thanks Erie, we had a riot. Cant wait to get back, Cheers, Charlie W.

So, man its been a whirlwind. Starting Saturday Nov 1st, we were lucky enough to play at Nelsons Ledges Quarry Park during their annual, Gorry at the Quarry. We played alongside the likes of Ekoostik Hookah, Devon Allman's Honeytribe and Zach Deputy. So much talent at the Ledges. If you havent heard of Nelson Ledges, google it and get there next summer, that place rocks. We should have some live stuff ready to post to out site over the next month.

So then it was off to Buffalo, where I was lucky enough to catch Derek Trucks Band at University of Buffalo. In a word: Tasty. These guys are riveting. What a band, and Susan Tedeschi came out and sang quite a bit as well.

Then last night, as Im traveling in New England on personal biz, I stumbled upon Chris Duarte at Chan's Chinese Restaurant in Woonsocket RI. Man, that was mind boggling. There were like 40 people there, 10 of them were kids eating egg rolls with their moms, and Im watching one of the worlds best blues guitarists as the guy next to me was sucking lo mein noodles. Random? yes, awesome? yes. And what a rhythm section. Check out chris if you ever get a chance. Peace, dont just say it....vote for it!!! Cheers, Charlie W.

Yeah!!! I went to see Black Crowes and Grace Potter last night at the Byham Theatre in Pittsburgh. Man oh man, what a show. 1st I run into Grace and Matt(the Nocturnals drummer) on the street outside the theatre. They took about 15 minutes to bullshit and hang with me. Approachable, down to earth, just plain cool people, so glad to have met them. Then Grace and the Nocturnals just knocked our socks off...she's a true gospel singer and the Nocturnals are smooth one minute, then they rough you up the next. Great set Grace, Matt and the gang!! Good to meet you too!! If you're reading this and you haven't heard of (or seen her live) Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, do yourself a favor and GO!! The Crowes??...... forget about it, I was at a revival, a true rock and roll revival. I wrote 2 songs within an hour after the show. So inspiring to see these people, these pros, these veterans who still love it, get excited for it, feel the moment. There's no "goin through the motions" with the Crowes. They're breathing every note, pulsing every drum beat. Good stuff. Needless to say, I had fun!!

So I'm stumbling around, living the life of an upstart recording artist. I have a product, I have drive, desire, cunning....all that B.S. that everyone else in the biz has.  I'm learning quickly that it's a life of extreme highs and perilous lows.  Sometimes you're looking out at untapped horizons with no obstacles in your path. Other times you're skulking around in the shadows wondering why.....just....why? Today was a "why" day.

Then I stop by my pal Chad's chainsaw carving site. I lament my shitty day, the rejection, etc.  Chad gives me one piece of advice.  Man to man.  Artist to artist;... "if they don't want it, fuck 'em, give it to 'em anyway".  Now that's what I'm talking about. That was just the kick in the ass I needed!!!

Thanks Chad!!!
