Shiny New Show :
Rock!
We are excited to announce we have an upcoming show at the Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco on February 10 with two great bands-- Guitar Vs. Gravity and H is for Hellgate.  We're opening the show, so get there early! $6/9pm/21+

Shiny New Compilation : Echodrone has just been released on the shoegaze compilation "Take Me on the Wildest Spree", released by Rubber Records.  Many thanks to Tom Elliot for including us on this international collection of shoegaze, available at Amazon (http://www. amazon. com/Take-Me-Wildest-Spree/dp/B001J8NAWM).  It is a truly awesome, handpicked collection of bands and we're thrilled to be on it.  Here's a description of the compilation:

It's been almost two decades since NME coined the 'Shoegazing' term somewhat mockingly. It was the original shoegazing bands like Ride, Moose, My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Chapterhouse, Slowdive, etc. that turned the indie music movement of the early '90s on its head. There was no denying in 1989-90 that a new musical genre had been born. However after Ride broke up in 1996 and My Bloody Valentine went into hibernation, it seemed that shoegazing may be consigned to the discount record bin of history. In the last few years, however, there have been an increasing number of signs suggesting that shoegazing is enjoying a well deserved resurrection. Not only was shoegazing not dead, thanks to a group of bands sometimes called 'Nugazers' (New Shoegazers), the genre is positively flourishing. The 16 nugaze groups selected for this compilation are amongst the best we've come across. Although the original shoegazing scene was very much a Thames Valley/Home Counties affair, this new crop of bands hail from places as geographically diverse as NYC (Soundpool and The Invisible Kid), Germany (Malory), and, of course, Australia (Fluorescent and MistandSea). While most people may not have been fortunate enough to experience shoegazing reach its original zenith in 1992, the Nugazers represented on this compilation prove the movement is as alive now as it's ever been.

Well, it took us a lot longer than we thoughts, but we are finally ready to share a little bit of what we've been working on over the past few months. The Reverse Song* is a new fave of ours, and we hope of yours as well!

We'll be posting more demos like this as we get them shaped and recorded in preparation for a 2009 full-length recording. Shows and more to come!

* Not necessarily its real title

Well, our goal on Sat. was to win over hearts and minds with the sheer power and might of Echodrone. I think it's safe to say that the new arrangements works really well, even in a challenging room like the Li Po Lounge. Meredith and Mark T both kicked serious amounts of ass, Eugene was the wonder that he is and it's safe to say that I undeniably played bass.

Much love goes to Paranoids, Vir and Joe S for sharing the good vibes and gear with us. Special thanks to Robert for putting the night together and being his supremely supportive self.

In the near future, we plan to get some newer demo-type stuff up here, pack in some more gigs and work on a possible studio recording. Stay tuned!

We are sad to report that Mark Florey and Echodrone have parted ways. We wish Mark nothing but the best.

However, we are very happy to say that stepping into the lineup is Meredith Gibbons, lately of SF Bay Area band One Becomes One Hundred, who will be Echodrone’s Swiss Army knife and secret weapon. We look very much forward to sharing what we’ve been cooking up in the labs for you very soon and should have some gig and recording announcements for you shortly!

Hey kids! Just to show that we haven't been spending ALL of our time doing jello shots and watching YouTube, we've posted some rough recordings we made last month in our digs. Please let us know what you think!

We plan for this to be just first salvo in what we hope to be a regularly occurring salvo of exciting work-in-progress on the long march towards our next studio recording - fun times ahead for us all!

Hello, family and friends! We just wanted to drop a quick note to say that we are currently sequestered in the Echodrone Labs, working on brand-new concoctions that we hope to share with you all soon. We plan on posting a pair of new demo recordings in the near future, as well as booking some shows for the spring in order to debut some of our newer material.

We miss all of you and hope to see you soon!

Hey all,

Yes, we have finally gotten off our lazy bums and done something with this whole Echodrone thing.

First off, everyone please give a warm welcome to our new drummer/recording guy/sound person, Mark Tarlton! An amazing drummer with a steady foot, a great ear, and a vast range of musical knowledge. Welcome Mark T.!

We also have a new song called "It's Not Enough" that we'll be trying out live.

And yes, more live shows!

09/27 - Hotel Utah
10/25 - Rockit Room

Be there or be square. We wanna see all friends, old and new!

Hope everyone out there is peachy,
~Echodrone

Echodrone was proud to be a part of Coolwaves Festival III. Many thanks to Roger of Halcyon High for the invitation and the outstanding visuals!

The video clip is of "This is your world." For those of you who would like to sing along, enjoy...

day after day rational slides away - from this mind
hopelessly caught in a daze out of place - out of time

drop all you see and gaze deep in the night - of my mind
thoughts in between, what you feel is not seen - fill your sky
i know what you've been show, stole your life
now that the veil has been lifted away - we can fly

this is your world, your mind
this is your world, your time
caught in your world, your binds
lost in your world, your lies

we're on our way, drifting out of the gray

how long must we feel all this doubt
how long will it be 'till we're found
'cause its over now, take me away
yes its over now

we're on our way, flying out of the gray
we're on our way, wipe me out of this space
