Big ups to the Mere fans who represented during the Olympics! It was announced today that the Team USA soundtrack raised a million bucks for US athletes, thanks to great promotion by NBC and AT&T, and thanks especially to the fans who supported the project.

BTW, you can still pick up our Olympic song "Hold On" on iTunes, if you haven't already. Give it a spin and leave a review or 12!

We've been getting scattered reports of radio play around the country this past week...friends in such disparate places as Oregon, Colorado, Delaware, California, and Arizona have told us they've heard Mere over the airwaves.

If your local radio DJ is spinning Mere, we'd love to hear about it--shoot us a note and let us know which station is giving us love. If your local DJ isn't spinning Mere, call him/her up and ask why not!

Thanks for reading/listening/supporting!

Last night during the NBC Olympics telecast, our song "Higher" was used for the day's highlight reel, which showcased amazing performances from the USA women's gymnastics team and Michael Phelps.  The montage featuring "Higher" was also televised again later on NBC as well.

As you know, another song of ours, "Hold On", is part of the Team USA Olympic Soundtrack, alongside 3 Doors Down, Colbie Caillat, Goo Goo Dolls, Sheryl Crow, and Chris Brown.

We are incredibly honored for our songs to be a part of the Olympics and supporting Team USA.

Keep your ears peeled for even more Mere in the Olympics!

The day of triple infinity, the start of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, and the day that you can first get your hands on Mere's "Hold On", written especially for the Team USA Olympic Soundtrack, sponsored by AT&T and NBC. Check out the official "Hold On" music video, photos, and band interviews here!

There are also links on that page to buy the song on iTunes, get ringtones and answertones for the song, and check out the other songs on the soundtrack, from artists like 3 Doors Down, Goo Goo Dolls, Nelly, Colbie Caillat, and Sheryl Crow.

If you want to jump straight to iTunes to get the song, go here. Feel free to leave comments on iTunes telling us what you think (as long as it's about how amazing the song is, of course)!

All proceeds during the Olympics go to support Team USA, so this is a great opportunity to get the new Mere song and support Team USA! We're really honored to be a part of this, and are excited to watch Team USA over the next 2 weeks!

Good news! The preview of Mere's Olympic music video for "Hold On" is now online at AT&T's promotional site, along with the previews for most of the other participating bands' videos. My own incredibly biased opinion: I think we stack up nicely. Our lead singer is just so darn telegenic! (Mere Fun Fact: He's also telekinetic)

This post comes with two homework assignments:
  1. Go watch the video and lemme know what you think. Unless you don't like it, in which case you're a communist who hates Team USA.
  2. Get the Mere Olympic badge and add it to your Facebook profile, MySpace profile, or blog.
That's all for now. Enjoy!

If you're near a bookstore at any point this month, pick up the August issue of Paste magazine. Flip right to the middle of the cover story and you'll see a lovely picture of the five boys of Mere in a new full-page ad to promote our song for the Olympics.

Tear out the picture, put it in your locker or cubicle, kiss it every morning, and sigh.

Thanks so much to Dave Mead and Josh Maready for the great new Mere pics. Dave has brilliantly photographed pretty much every one of our musical heroes and many of our sports heroes too (take a look at http://www.davemead.com), and Maready's a pro skateborder that just happens to be a ridiculous portrait photographer (gawk at his pics on his Flickr profile).

NBC and AT&T announced today that Mere will be providing a song for the US Olympic team soundtrack, which will be used in NBC's Olympic coverage on TV and online. We'll be joining artists like Sheryl Crow, Three Doors Down, Army of Me, Colbie Caillat, Nelly, and Kate Voegele on the soundtrack, and the news was picked up by USA Today, CNN Money, and Rolling Stone, among others.

As part of the deal, we recently shot a cool video to go along with the track. In fact, if you've been to a Mere show lately, you've already heard the song, a rocker called "Hold On." Hopefully we'll all be hearing a lot more of it in the coming months.

We'll let you know when the video is online and when/where you can get the soundtrack when it's available. Until then, the full press release from AT&T is here.

MERE + TEAM USA FTW!

Couple quick notes from the Land of Mere (a happy, peaceful land, with a good GDP and a killer national anthem):

-We just made our new song "Higher" available exclusively through Amie Street (amiestreet.com/mere). It's the track from the Haier commercial that's been playing during all the televised NBA games and elsewhere. We were inundated with email asking us to release it, so we're excited to finally be able to offer it on Amie Street. The way Amie Street works is that all tracks and albums start off free, and the price goes up as demand goes up. What that means for you is that, as of right now, you can get the entire Switches and Dials album for just $2.94. Already got it? Pick up the new track for just 29 cents. The album is currently 21 on the Amie Street charts, so act fast as prices are climbing! In any case, stop by and add us as a friend on Amie Street and most importantly, add a "rec" for the songs!

Also, April 30th marks Mere's triumphant return to Hoboken (too dramatic? Sorry ....). We'll hit Whiskey Bar on Washington Street at 10 pm, for our first Hoboken show in months. Afterparty spot TBD (if only Hoboken had more bars!).

It’s been a big week for Mere. First, we get a mention in the New York Post--go check it out and download "Anything at All" for free while you’re there.

Secondly, we said goodbye to our horrific practice space in Hoboken tonight. It was basically a run-down warehouse that we called Saw Studios because it looked like the set of a horror movie. Seriously, it reeked of death and decay, and I’m sure it’ll be bulldozed to build some condos that will be haunted by the ghosts of all the dead musicians buried under Saw.

Thirdly, and most importantly, we’re hitting Knitting Factory on Friday night and you gotta be there. The club is one of the best in the city, and our fans and friends will be out in force (they’re great; we’ll introduce you around). We’ll take the stage at 9. Not sure what the cover is but it won’t be more than $10.

See you on Friday!
