Money is tight these days, but you still need to buy holiday gifts for your loved ones.  So we are happy to announce that for one week, we're dropping the price of our album The Nickel Slots to $7.99!

For one week starting at midnight Wednesday Dec. 9th, if you buy the CD from our web store or the download from DigStation, it's just $7.99!  A great gift
for your cousin Kenny Franklin Valentine.

A couple of places to see and hear about us this month:

Our music is featured, and we are semi-respectfully discussed, in episode 33 of The BoneBat Show, a podcast available on iTunes and at http://www.bonehand.com/BoneBat.html. Two middle-aged men who spend way too much time playing video games tell filthy jokes, talk about what pisses them off, rant about politics, review the aforementioned video games, and interview people who make stuff they like. It's surprisingly entertaining. Especially if you like video games.

And for those who weren't able to grab a printed copy, our feature story in SubMerge magazine is now posted online at http://submergemag.com/featured/change-is-good/959/. Magic, passion, dues: they're all there.

The Sacramento Bee just recommended us as a buzz-worthy local band whose shows are one of the highlights of the fall concert season! Article by Carla Meyer.

We just found out that the remaining Concert in the Park shows for this year have been canceled, so we are no longer playing Cesar Chavez Park as part of our September 11th CD release party.  You can still join the celebration at Old Ironsides, though!

Mark Gilmore played a track from our upcoming album on 98 Rock's Local Licks this past Sunday.  He's told us it won't be the last, so tune in Sunday nights at 10pm to catch The Nickel Slots on the radio again!

Current mood:  excited
We are proud to announce that we've just posted four new songs!  These are all on our upcoming debut CD "The Nickel Slots," which we will release on September 11th.  Keep coming back here, 'cause we'll post more songs from the CD every week until the release.  And put Sept. 11th on your calendar to come celebrate with us at our CD release party....An evening show at Cesar Chavez Park as part of the END OF SUMMER FEST series and then later that night down at Old Ironsides!

We've removed the mix of "Lucky Number 7s" that was previously posted here and replaced it with the more polished final mix that will be on the CD.  And the songs from our 2008 demo are also gone, but we've rerecorded them all for the CD, so you'll get to hear them again--and better--soon!

You can already listen to Nickel Slots music here on MySpace.  But now for a limited time, when you join our email list we'll send you a link and password to download an MP3 of "Lucky Number Sevens," our featured song on KWOD.  Take The Nickel Slots with you wherever you go!

Go do it.  Now.

Update August 4th: now that we've posted songs from the CD itself, we're no longer offering the free download.  You'll be able to download all the songs from iTunes soon.  But we'd still love to have you on our email list!

We've posted a few new photos! We've been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to shoot with two great photographers, Chris Carter and Mark Robinson.

The Nickel Slots would like to thank both of those guys! I'll be adding more images in the next week or two.

We've also started an iPhone photo album for our friends and fans that have taken photos of us with their iPhones. If you have any iPhone photos you want to share with us email them to me at: Steve@steveamaral.com

Thanks and hope to see all of you at our next show DEC 4th at Old Ironsides!
