Welcome to a new year.
Pardon me for not writing sooner. Since making some recordings in Austin last summer with Mike McCarthy I've been chasing around from Texas to Tallahassee to Key West to Portland to Amsterdam to Manchester to London to Orlando to New York City gathering some thoughts, and having good fun human experiences while searching for a semblance of space and desire and working on some new stuff.

I will be working hard to begin playing shows again as well and will keep you posted. Enjoy the new songs uploaded from Austin. They may not ever be released officially.

I am leaving Montreal wagging a tail of smoldering social ruins and entering the next and necessary phase of whatever. Back to Tallahassee to retrieve my piano from the consignment shop floor, off to find another undercusp job. Here here, time.

Last week I got a fortune cookie at our Sunday family chinois dinner and it read ....'Nobody does it better than you.....' Since then, my spirits have been really high and lots of great stuff has transpired.

I have finally, officially signed a deal with Chop Shop Records, a new label in Los Angeles created by the ever talented Alexandra Patsavas and John Rubelli.. and Atlantic records has got their back too!

So now, I....'m continuing writing and summoning together a brilliant team to nest up and create this LP with. At the end of next week I....'m going out again to the beautiful seclusion of Bear Creek Studios outside of Seattle to write and begin working with musical dreamboats Julian Brown and Dean Stone of Apostle of Hustle to bring it on before heading down south to play SXSW and hopefully soak up some rays of light. For those of you who aren....'t here now, it is -15 C outside right now, cruel, black ice and dirty snow.
No wonder, Godspeed, no wonder.

NXNE was definately a fun experience. The new band was great at our sold out show on Thursday night at the Rivoli and I also shared them as the rhythm section for Memphis' show on Friday which was amazing.

Now I'm back in Montreal putting together a home before setting out to do four dates with The Besnard Lakes from June 20-24th around Ontario. Also recently I've been confirmed to play the Hillside Festival in Guelph on Saturday July 28th and the Ottawa Bluesfest on July 15th... very e x c i t i n g to me !

Shows are beginning to appear and as they do I will post where and when to find them. Also, I'm still looking for a bassist/guitarist in Montreal who isn't involved in sixty different projects to possibly work with for live shows..

As some of you may have heard, my friend Patrick Krief (from The Dears) recently had all of his gear stolen. Through awareness via myspace etc, a few leads have been discovered. Any information leading to retreiving this stolen gear is greatly appreciated.
