Dearest friends,

It is with great pleasure and unashamed/feigned excitement that I officially announce to you the release of our new Ep 'Let's Pretend That We're Older'

We recorded about 7 million tracks for the new album and we decided to separate them up like the naughty boarding school children they are into a couple of different releases,

this is is the first.

This release is very limited edition only 150 hand made denim sleeves so each one is unique. The design on the badge was done by the young and talented Yvette Young from California.

The actual sleeves don't yet exist but here's a mock up done by Kev at Big Scary Monsters Postal strikes permitting we should have physical copies this week.

Tracklisting:
1.Let's Pretend That We're Older
2.Arm a Leg
3.Expect The Language
4.Hands Off...

'Let's Pretend That We're Older' is free to download here or here, at BSM as well as at STA

Download it before it dowloads you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything's Eventual

Sunday, August 30, 2009
We've been busy recording new tracks over the summer for our forthcoming EP with Big Scary Monsters (more details on that to follow) so we thought it was time for a bit of "in with the new and out with the old" style action.

SALE>>

You, dearest and beloved reader can have a piece of said action in the form of cut price merchendise, we've dashed our prices to £6 a t-shirt and £6 an album or £10 for both, they're both nearly sold out so if want em you'd best act fast.

ALBUM STREAMING>>

We've uploaded the whole of Adventuring for you to stream whilst you browse our store, try before you buy you know? we won't have these tracks up forever as we'll no doubt be adding tracks from the new album in the coming months.

Lots of love

Hello,

Any of you that know me well enough will know that I really like talking about equipment and being a nerd generally, so this is a bit of a sad time for me, I've decided to let some of my equipment go, I'm selling all this stuff to buy a new bass that will hopefully fill the void left behing from this purging.

If you're interested in buying any of this stuff send us a message or a comment and we'll talk, I can put the item up on our BIG CARTEL page HERE so you could have it in your mits by the next day. Incase you don't know ono = or nearest offer.

Pete

FENDER TELECASTER (with soft case) £150 (ono)

FOR SALE: Mexican Fender Telecaster Serial Number: MN624710 It's a 1996 model, I've had it since I was at school so obviously there's a few dings and a wear mark at the top, I think it's kinda cool though, two of the saddles have been replaced. I'll take the sticker off and clean it up too obviously.

FENDER ULTIMATE CHORUS £200 (ono)

This amp is great, it's loud and clear with enough options to get the sound your after but not so much it'll give you a headache.
It's the best amp I've used in a band, but I play bass now so I don't really need it anymore.
Specs:2 x12 Fender speakers, Reverb,Stereo chorus,Switchable mid booost,FX send & Return. Stereo or Mono 130 watt RMS Mono or 65 Watt Stereo, Each channel has it's own volume, reverb and tone controls(treble, mid and bass) with the foot switch supplying the chorus effect and channel switching (clean-overdrive)

ASHDOWN MAG 600 £250 (ono)

I've barely used this amp since I bought it last year, I no longer have any use for it.

HERE'S WHAT SOMEONE ELSE SAID ABOUT IT:

Ashdown's MAG Series has been developed for the busy semi pro player who doesn't require all the sophisticated tone shaping and connectivity of Ashdown's flagship ABM range.

Two brand new additions to the MAG Series are being shown at NAMM 2005.
The MAG 600 head provides a massive 600 watts of power and offers a wealth of tonal variation through its simple but effective 5 band EQ section. Rotary Bass, Middle and Treble controls are supplemented by additional rotary controls centred on frequencies of 220Hz and 1.6kHz – each providing 15dB of cut and boost for complete signal contouring.

Further tonal possibilities are possible via front panel push switches for 'Deep' and 'Bright' modes. When engaged, 'Deep' mode provides a warm, rounded quality while 'Bright' mode gives extra bite and attack. Low frequency performance is further enhanced by the onboard sub harmonic generator, which delivers earth-shattering levels of bottom end response.

Passive and Active instrument inputs are standard, along with an effects send and return, tuner/line output and a balanced DI output for direct patching to a mixing console.

The front panel line up is completed by Ashdown's trademark retro style illuminated VU meter, which monitors input level.

Our best buddy Steve Ingram™ has made a video for Forests of Varg™, we love Steve.

This video actually only took about three hours™ to make.

We've finnished most of the recording for the second album now so it shouldn't be too long till we're lightly tapping Steves bedroom door again as Steven is a multifaceted fellow™ and is also the man behind most of our art/design work.
Check him out here. >>>>> Forhumourandhope.co.uk

So we got given an advertising budget by Smalltown America, it was really exciting coming up with ideas for how we could spend the money we did a whole day of casting and workshopping with actors from all over the west midlands (some of them came all the way from Halesowen) before settling for second best in the form of James and Neil, Basically their fees were so high we could no longer afford the lighting tech or boom operator so Coalville Light and Sound (Loughborough) took the pinch.
Here's what we came up with.

Peace be with you.

Hi everyone!

Just thought I’d let you know that our debut album ‘Adventuring’ is out on Monday the 9th at 9 o’clock. Make sure you get to the shops before this time as people are planning to camp out to grab the first limited copies!

Most of the stock is tied up in Woolworths but should be set free before the 9th so that Zavvi can get there hands on it! (Ed: Ha Ha!!)

It’s going to be a good day for everyone I think. I’m working on that day but it doesn’t mean that I won’t be thinking about everyone of you skipping to the shops and whistling in the wind.

If you still order the album from our label you get a twenty six track bonus disk!

Now, I wanted to tell you guys a little bit about what’s been going on apart from the above - -

We have been very productive with writing music recently and almost have a second albums worth of songs ready for recording. We are planning a release for later this year; perhaps October. I’d tell you more but I don’t want to give too much away just yet as I wanted the Wooden Spoon to tell you as soon as he gets back from ....Mexico City.....

I’d love to have left a picture to accompany the text but I don’t know how to paste one onto this blog space so instead I’ll leave you with a thought (Tom told me this) that’s not left my mind in weeks:

Imagine a cat whistling.

Thanks for reading and stay brutal!!!

John B.

NEWS:

Hello/Yo, Our recent Spate of inactivity (as in no spam for a week) has lead to not only a new album by our main man A Bull, myspace.com/abullabullabull(recorded in my bedroom inbetween practicing kissing on our arms.) But a couple of relatively favourable reviews and an interview from people who know more about our music than we do.

INTERVIEW:

This is a preview of of an interview we did for Spiel myspace.com/spielzine
PAGE 1
PAGE 2
It was conducted by Kristian and Patrick,  two charming young men who are both classicly trained musicians and closet hard rockers, this will be the first edition of Spiel so get involved, they're looking for contributions of any kind artists/writers/Photographers/bands etc etc. Kristian tells me there are a few more pages to be added.
Physical copies will be in Swordfish Records, Urban Outfitters, HMV, and venues around Birmingham. If you don't live in Birmingham I'm sure if you ask them nicely enough they'll send you a scan/copy.

REVIEWS:

Our homedog Jay from Massachusetts' CLICKY CLICKY has given our album a nice review.

Here's what the Rocksound cover looks like, we get a pretty good review because Rocksound are our homies.

Check the website if you don't believe me http://www.rocksound.tv/reviews/article/calories-adventuring

Thanks to Vanessa (Perfume-Vee) for pointing out this article from France at Sound of violence  I had to translate it with Babelfish if anyone fancies translating it more accurately we'd be forever in your debt.

I've also done a recipe for the Artrocker blog but no news yet as to when that'll see the light of day.

Love and respect.

Our first bunch of shirts has nearly sold out, there's about 2 or 3 left in sizes all sizes YS/S/M/L unless there is great demand we wont be reprinting any of the designs so each one is limited edition.

So we've had some more done, new design, new flavour, new me, new you etc etc. This is the test pressing (it's an xl) hence why our model is wearing his shirt underneath it, hopefully next time the agency will send us a more voluptuous male, somone I wouldn't be embarrassed to take out for romantic evening after the shoot.

FRUIT TAP TEE is available in YS/S/M/L as of Saturday 21st FEB.

It turns out I'm too dumb to set up a Paypal button on the site, If anyone smarter and more likeable than me wants to give us some pointers it'd be greatly apreciated.

All the best.
