Wrong Two

wrong 2 450
Welcome to the second live recording from Wrong Island. Recorded live on Saturday 13 December at Dirty Larry and Teamy’s monthly underground party in the basement of Glasgow’s Nice N Sleazy venue.

A Xmas special from the lovely wrong ones and also dedicated to their friend and fellow Glasgow DJ, Mister David Barbarossa who celebrated his birthday on the evening.

You can catch Teamy and David Barbarossa alongside JG Wilkes from Optimo at their Fun Size night of nonsensical disco and good times grooving on Xmas eve at Le Cheetah in Glasgow.

mm 450
On the second day of Christmas, Radio Magnetic, Malcolm Middleton and Homegame give to you:

Malcolm Middleton: We’re All Going To Die (Live at Homegame 2009)

Just right click the above ‘download’ button and it’s yours!

This is an exclusive acoustic recording from the fabulous Fence Collective’s annual Homegame Festival in the East Neuk of Fife from back in March of 2009. Malcolm’s yuletide single of 2007 performed live. And it’s not available for sale or otherwise anywhere else in the world! Lucky you.

Radio Magnetic have been big fans and  supporters of Mr Middleton’s work since his day’s with Chemikal Underground’s Arab Strap and love the solo albums he’s produced too. Despite the often miserable and dour lyrical content of his songwriting, he’s a thoroughly pleasant gentleman too!

Visit the shop of Malcolm’s current label, Full Time Hobby for all your last minute and exsquiste independent xmas shopping.

Flyin' Jalapenos at T in the Park 2009

We recorded this video of Glasgow breakdance crew, Flyin’ Jalapenos, at the Healthy T area of T in the Park back in the summer.

The Flyin Jalapenos b-boy crew started in 2002 when two b-boys in Glasgow met each other at the right time and got together to train hard in the art of b-boying.
The crew has now expanded and has B-boys, B-girls, Poppers, Lockers and Rockers from all over Scotland and from Holland, Germany, Poland, Canada and Philipines.
They train most days in a warehouse in Glasgow when they’re not teaching, performing, doing streetshows or other random acts of b-boying throughout Scotland and beyond.
The crew in it’s entirety consists of Sideshow Maule aka the Predator, Wee Super Steve, Nico Mystereo aka Dr. Beat, B-boy Sam, IRN_DRU, Pawlotti, Rafaelo, Sascha, Tesco, Wong-k, J-six, Kid Niall, Super Mario, Remady, Alcatraz ,Rusty and Sunny D.

Four Tet at Huntley and Palmer's Audio Club

fourtet 450
With countless parties and nigh on sixty guests, what’s more cause for celebration: H&P reaching two years or finally succeeding in booking Four Tet? He’s been on the bulky wishlist almost the whole time, so it’s appropriate to celebrate our birthday with him in style.

Musical genius is a term bandied around quite loosely, however it’s befitting of Kieran Hebden; with an enviable production output spanning the genres and remixing the likes of Aphex Twin, Battles, Caribou, Born Ruffians and Nathan Fake to name but a handful. His current form’s showing no sign of stagnating – demonstrated in recent collaboration work with both drummer Steve Reid and Burial, and rightfully being lauded across the musical spectrum. Kieran’s been DJ’ing for a number of years – formerly holding a residency at James Holden’s infamous Border Community parties and now staging his own at Plastic People where he utilises his production skills to marry everything from techno, disco, dubstep and a few surprises with ease.

A festive birthday party wouldn’t be one without old friends, amongst others, David’s Shrigley and Barbarossa will be showcasing some of their amazing record collections in the bar upstairs between 9-12.

Keep an eye on the site for a birthday mix celebrating the last two years of H&P’s tenure on Radio Magnetic very soon and some other treats relevant to this very special evening of music. Check out Andrew from Huntley and Palmer’s mix from back in October here.

Friends, it would be folly of the fool to miss this. Tickets only cost a ten spot and are available from Tickets Scotland, Monorail and Rubadub.
