We have a new tune on the player! Smell is the first song off Anamnesis, the new 5 song EP that will be released in April. There are new photos, a new bio, new My Space.com/ShaunaBurns page and coming soon are new videos and song clips! :)

Anamnesis is pianist/singer/songwriter Shauna Burns' next work to be released under Red Rock Music in April 2009. This 5 song EP is the continuation of The Moon and the Fire Circle and the next step in her musical journey. Anamnesis, which means 'recollection' or 'remembrance', focuses on the senses that live in our memories. 'Music is a trigger for things we remember,' Shauna explains. 'Each of the songs on Anamnesis represents one of the senses.' The first song on the EP is titled 'Smell' ...its reference is obvious. 'A Letter' embraces the gift of sight, 'Wind' references touch, 'Driving Far' taste, and 'So Tell Me…' our sense of hearing. The new album is full of Shauna’s trademark piano and vocals, James Clark on drums and percussion, Steve Lemmon on guitar and bass, Ryan Tilby on mandolin and dobro, Kiley Astle on violin and Steve Nelson on cello.

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a nice start to their new year! I'm getting ready to post some more music ~ shorter example clips. They are coming soon. :)

We are also preparing some more music for a new EP called Anamnesis, this is the continuation of the Moon and the Fire circle story arch. I'm really happy with how the recordings are coming, we are adding the last little touches and mixing at the moment then it will be off to master and released in the beginning of April.

While recording the main part of Anamnesis in the studio last November I did an interview with Tamera at Spiral Studios where I record. In the interview we talk about the new work, recording process and what Anamnesis is about. I hope you enjoy this first look!

Hi!

All music can be custom cut to 10/15/30/60 seconds or whatever is needed. I am open to submitting to Music Libraries (this is something we are exploring right now). I'm still planning to put up more music on the player as well, some shorter example cuts. Stay tuned for those! But of course you may hear examples over on Shauna Burns.com in the Music section.

Hello there!

As promised we have some new music on the player! The first is one is Tumbleweed Instrumental, which is the song Tumbleweed slicked up without vocals. I actually recorded a special version just for music placement because I normally record the piano and vocals together so this is re-worked with visuals in mind. I kept the normal version of Tumbleweed up as well.

The second song is also an instrumental ~ a piano instrumental called Hidden. This song is brand new and a lot can be added to this baby or just left beautifully simple. A lullaby if you will...

To answer some questions we've been getting:

*The Red Ledges song is a custom work. It is an example of what we can do but if you want to use this song please email me.
*All songs can be re-worked in an instrumental/re-mixed version.
*If you need a proper press kit/CD please email chip at mileshighproductions dot com or me at shauna at shaunburns dot com.

We did record more songs but I'm pacing myself with this page. ;)

Hello!

Currently we are in the studio working on some songs and other musical treats to post here. These will hopefully be done in the next short while. I've been tinkering with this idea for a bit, because I usually don't post the music this way. But these songs are a little different in that they are more atmospheric and visual (if that makes sense)... they represent what I feel and see when I read or day dream. I'm taking inspiration from what is just below the surface...

Dripping sounds from trees or on the back of wind. :)

I'd like to welcome everyone officially to the brand new Shauna Burns Music Licensing myspace page! We are in the middle of fiddling and tweaking so look back for some changes soon and you are welcome to subscribe to the blog here for updates. What is this place you might ask? Well...

This page is made specifically for music supervisors or anyone who needs music for film, video, television (commercials and programs), internet, events, video games and multimedia productions. Choose from already existing music or a custom made work. We can create original music for any production big or small.

I specialize in Alternative, Ambient, Visual, Rock and Celtic among others. I find inspiration in anything that moves your soul and yearns to whisk you away.... moss dripping off the trees, rain kissing your closed eyelids, the wind in your hair and the feel of the ground under your feet. The feeling of your heart pumping with excitement and terror, this vulnerability, this dark and light, push and pull, melting with passion and complexity; this is blood-tingling. The feel of the cotton sheets when you curl up at night. Engulfing, seductive and powerful, you would do anything for love no matter what lies ahead; danger, death, life, you would risk it all. You do not have a choice and your soul is part of each other... you cannot split the soul in half.

I truly hope you enjoy exploring the music.
