we did it! our album is out!!! thanks to everyone who came out to see us at the slc teahaus on that stormy stormy night, and thanks also to everyone who has thrown down 10 bones in the past few weeks in order to purchase our cd and help support the music!

now weve all parted ways for a few weeks to have fun adventures in the new england snow/california sun. (personally ive been hanging out with a herd of cows, some horses and dogs, treking mountains in the rain, getting very muddy, etc etc... i even saw a great blue heron today, hows about that?)

BUT NEVER FEAR!!!: soon we will be back in action. we are planning a beautiful spring break tour which will be an amazing amalgamation of amazingness. our cd isnt available online yet, but if you see us, ASK US FOR ONE (on sale! 10 dollars!), or hit us up to put in an order, aight???? it has beautiful beautiful artwork on recycled cardboard cases that we hot glue-gunned together BY HAND and tom was so nice and wonderful as to silk-screen said artwork onto five hundred cd cases because he is (of course) THE MAN.

on that note, happy holidays, merry christmas, or hannukah or whatever pagan holiday you so choose to celebrate, may the force be with you, and during this season remember to drink lots of hot cocoa and celebration ale and eat lots of pancakes and cheesecake and angelfood cake and pineapple upside down cake and all the other kinds of cake you can think of.

dear friends and beloved ones,

unbeknownst to tom or anyone else (except for kaila, who thinks its a good idea), i am going to start writing blog entries to let you all know whats up. we here at big tree have been working hard since the beginning of the summer to produce a full length album that we will really be proud of. we know we promised youd have it back in, like, september or something. we had some set backs. we had some obstacles to overcome. the album has been recorded. it has been mastered. we have sent it to be duplicated. instead of studying, we spent the weekend folding and hot glue-gunning five hundred recycled cardboard CD cases and figuring out how to screenprint by hand our amazing album art work.
point being: the album will be done by mid-december.

we have been playing some great gigs. 2 shows at union pool in williamsburg (one was a CMJ show!). we played in a festival at alpha beta. we played at bard college a few weekends ago and colin and i slept on couches in an unfamiliar living room (the people who lived there were somewhat confused in the morning-- luckily people at bard are real hospitable).

next week we are opening for deertick at clark univerisity. these are exciting times.
we thank you for your endless support and patience in waiting for us to produce our full length. stay tuned. we will be posting more new tunes to the myspace in the days to come.
