We are happy to announce that our new CD, Samsara, is on the verge of completion and we are now taking pre-orders.

All CD’s ordered before the official CD release will be shipped for free and arrived signed by the band.

Samsara includes several tracks featuring the sitar and harmonium in addition to our array of many old favorite instruments, such as bouzouki, accordion and violin. We’ve recorded some new and some old favorite songs including our gypsified version of Led Zepplin’s “Kashmir”.

You can see a full track listing and listen to music samples at www.wineandalchemy.com/Samsara.html

In other news, our unexpected run at the Bay Area Renaissnce Festival in Tampa, FL has been a fun kickoff to our year’s performance schedule.

We will be playing one more weekend at BARF, March 28th and 29th, before returning to Texas for the start of the Scarborough Fair in Waxahatchie on April 4th.

We hope to see many of you there.

Current mood:  busy
We'll be coming out to Florida this weekend to play in Sarasota Friday night as well as in Tampa Saturday and Sunday at the Renaissance Festival and at the Soul Mirror Saturday night for a Belly Dance Hafla.

Roxanne will also be giving a dance workshop Saturday before the Hafla.
By the by, "Hafla" just means "dance party" for our purposes. There will be open dance, and possibly some open jamming, so bring your jingles and drums.

Check out our schedule for more info.

Hope to see some of you there!

Current mood:  artistic
We've been having a great time at the Texas Renaissance Festival thanks to all our wonderful friends there. The show has been developing by leaps and bounds and now we're laying serious plans for a new CD - writing, developing and arranging tunes.

We're also mulling over a DVD project as well as possibly an additional live CD in the near future.

Thanks again to all our friends. We will keep you posted on our new developments, and we hope to see many of you at the Texas Ren Fair before the end of the run. :-)

Current mood:  accomplished
Texas Renaissance Festival is swiftly approaching and we are journeying to the site in Plantersville tomorrow to setup and make ready.

And once again, yes, we have expanded our lineup of performance instruments.
Mark has been tuning up his sitar - no small feat considering the way the strings are arranged - and will be frequently adding a bit more Indian flavor to our TRF sets.

And, of course, we have been adding more material. Always. Our repertoire now includes a gypsy-esque rendition of Kashmir, the Kiss (from the movie "Last of the Mohicans"), and the Loreena McKennit tune Marco Polo (still working on playing this one blindfolded), among others.

Hope we see you at the fair!
