I guess it's not at the top of my list that a KJ's gear look clean and neat as long as it sounds good.

But when it sounds like hell and LOOKS like this?

Damn! Consider that you've invited a bunch of people to your house for a karaoke party. Front and center under the spotlights on stage you see THIS. Would it color your opinion of how good that host is?

Would it make you want to come back if the wireless mics kept going out too (what? no wired backup?) and the singer monitor failed?

My take is a quality show not only sounds good (both how the host and singers sound) but looks good too. Can't take but 10 more minutes to either gather the wires together with some velcro ties or run them under the tablecloth. I don't think someone hiring a professional karaoke host (or DJ) should expect anything less for their money...unless of course they're paying such a ridiculously low amount that they're happy to get what they get.

Me? I vote with my dollars. I spent about $40 that night. I will not be back to this show.

On the night before Thanksgiving last year, Dangerous Karaoke broke the all time Little Red Hen record for pouring drinks. Now, nothing against all the great country bands that play there, but that's really something, huh?

This past Summer we did it again at my show -- AGAIN broke the all-time Little Red Hen record for pouring drinks! Considering the joint has been around for forty years (and even adjusting for inflation and the value of the dollar) I'd say again, that's really something, huh?

If there's ANY night of the year we need booze it's when our homes are filled with distant relatives chopping celery. So join me Wednesday for what promises to be another record-breaking night-before-Thanksgiving karaoke show. Come to watch, come to sing, come to jam, come to hook up, or all of the above. But come EARLY to get in the rotation.

Spotlights come on at 9 - be under them!

Hey, singers! Would you go spend your money to sing karaoke at a bar that openly shows contempt for your pleasurable pursuit?

Regardless if this is tongue-in-cheek, it seems to make a joke at our expense that all karaoke singers are bad, laughable and should be endured, not enjoyed. This Everett bar won't be getting any of MY cash, f'sure!
