February 13, 2009 - Friday

Current mood:  hyper
Worked out hard tonight. Nate (my personal trainer) worked my back and arms tonight. My lifting weight is increasing and I'm doing great. I love seeing the progress I'm making. Nate has introduced me to cardio. So after my 1 hour work outs Im hitting the treadmill for 20 mins. I know...20 mins doesn't sound like a lot of time but for me at this point I'm sweating. I will get that time longer as I keep going. Nate says doing cardio after your work out instead of doing it before will burn more fat and faster. I love Fit Stop 24 (Yelm). Everyone is so friendly. Even the other clients give me words of encouragment and often times a nod of saying..keep going Ron. I love the work outs. I just wish I would have started this earlier in life. I am so determined to getting into shape. I love it. My next work out is Tuesday of next week. Marking week 4 of the transition. I can't wait.
February 12, 2009 - Thursday
Wednesday and was at the gym tonight. Wow what a great workout. Nate my personal trainer worked my Arms and Shoulders tonight. My weights are increasing and I can feel I'm getting stronger. Nate motivates me to work at my best and gets me to peak performance. I looked forward all day today about getting into the gym. I just love that rush I get when I lift. It's a natural drug. YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THIS.
After my workout Nate put me on the treadmill. Said Cardio is best after a good workout. He says you burn more fat if you do cardio after lifting. So 20 mins to start and I was dripping with sweat. But on that natural high. I have to be totally honest...I REALLY LOVE DOING THIS. It's so much fun to have a personal trainer and feel the changes in my body.
Check out Fit Stop 24 and HIRE Nate. You won't regret it. Can't wait until tomorrow. Another day in the gym.

February 9, 2009 - Monday
Saturday's work out was fantastic. Worked chest and arms. OH my by the time we were done I was feeling like a wet noodle. But I have to say I am really enjoying this. Exercising was never a high priority to me because I got bored with it real quick. But having a personal trainer like Nate at Fit Stop 24 ( Yelm ) makes it all more fun. The work outs are very challenging but Nate makes it fun. He takes me to my failure, rests and then takes me to failure again. I can't believe how much stronger I am getting in just 2 short weeks. Back in the gym on Tuesday and the start of week 3. This is just flying by...Give me your thoughts, experiences or ideas about working out. I for one LOVE IT.
February 6, 2009 - Friday
Thursday worked my back and shoulders. Nate at Fit Stop 24 (Yelm) is very patient with me. I'm not in the greatest shape but he is increasing my weights everytime and I seem to be lifting more and more. I'm doing 3 sets of 12 and hitting 10 stations. Nate gives me about 1 min to catch my breath then its onto more sets. I'm really starting to feel the effects......and I'm loving it. Won't be able to work out on Friday so Nate changed my next one to Saturday. Oh and by the way..I have lost 12 lbs now. Yepppppppppppppie...
February 4, 2009 - Wednesday

Current mood:  energetic
Week two has started and what a great experience. I'm finding my drive more and more intense. Nate (my personal trainer) has set me up with a diet and it looks like its not that difficult to stay on. Today we worked out for 1 hour on shoulders and back and it seems my soreness is getting less and less with every passing day. I have lost a total of 6 lbs nows. Weighing in at 260.
Nate is a fantastic trainer. He continues to tell me what muscle group Im working and how the machine will shape that muscle. I have a before picture and I will be posting it soon on my My Space. After 8 weeks I will post another picture and hopefully the workouts will start to show a difference. I have Wednesday off and back to the gym on Thursday for legs. I can't wait.
I just can't believe that working out can be this fun. It's all about the place and trainer you have. I work hard but I really enjoy this.
January 24, 2009 - Saturday

Current mood:  confident
I am so excited. I turned to you, the listener, for help with ideas on how to lose weight. Over the last several years, since I quit smoking, I have gained so much weight. I would stand on the scale and it would say "Low Battery" or "One at a time please." Frustrated with my weight I tried every diet pill, powder or menu you could think of. Nothing worked for me.
On Friday January 22, 2009 I received a phone call from Nate at "Fit Stop 24" in Yelm. He heard about my story and offered to help. He said him and Nick (manager) decided to take me in and make me their winter project. I said if you can get me into shape you can get anyone into shape.
I start Tuesday January 27th. I will be at the gym three days a week. Nate is my personal trainer and will be working my butt off. It's a funny thing. Nate asked me what my goals were. He asked was it to go down 4 pant sizes, be able to run 5 miles or just feel more healthy? I said I would be extremely happy if I could just lose 4 bra sizes. Guys you know what I mean. The man boobs..they have to go.
So keep track of my progress. I'll be chatting about my workouts on the afternoon show as well as posting my progress here on this blog. Wish me luck and let the pounds drop.

January 27th, 2008:
My first workout is in the history books. At first I was a little intimidated when I walked into the gym. However that feeling didnt' last long. I was quickly greeted by Nate my personal trainer at Fit Stop 24 (Yelm). Nate sat me down and I began the adventure.
The first thing I did was to find out how much over weight and out of shape I really was. OMG !!! I think I have had too many twinkies and ding dongs in my life. Weighing it at 266 lbs and having a 29% body fat was not good. But thats the reason why im there right? To get rid of it.
We started in on our first work out. Nate is a fanstastic trainer. We took it slow at first. He would explain each machine and the purpose for it. Not only was it a great workout but it was very educational. I never once felt rushed through the sets. As a matter of fact I was told to take 30 second breaks in between each set. Gave me some time to refocus.
I thought at first I was getting special treatment because I'm on the radio. However, that was not the case. As the workout progressed I noticed more and more people entering the gym and receiving the same level of respect and attention as I received. Fit Stop 24 (Yelm) is simply amazing.
My first day is now complete and to tell you the truth...I didn't want to leave. I can't wait until Thursday. Thank you so much Fit Stop 24 (Yelm). You are going to give me by life back.
