In front of a pair of scouts that flew in from Las Vegas to watch "D-Rock" fight, Krantz had three takedowns of Schindler in the first round before finishing him off in the second round with a solid right, followed by a flurry of punches after Schindler's knee buckled.
Schindler, considered one of the top MMA fighters in Texas in the 155-pound division, became the first fighter at the professional level to last through the first round with Krantz.
The 21-year old's next fight will be June 26 at the Cajun Fighting Championship in Lafayette, La.
Krantz will fight Donny Wallace for a title belt.
The Marshallite also has perhaps his toughest test to date Aug. 8 when he is set to square off with UFC fighter Rich Clementi in a main event in Shreveport.

Marshall-based mixed martial arts fighter Derrick Krantz recently ran his professional winning streak to six matches with another first-round decision.

Krantz, known as "D-Rock" in the ring, defeated Jason Wright in a main event grudge match of the Unstoppable event at the Shreveport Municipal Auditorium on April 3.

Krantz forced Wright to tap out at the 2:36 mark of the first round after he clamped Wright down in a rear naked choke hold.

The win moved Krantz to 6-0 as a professional, with all six decisions coming in the first round.

Wright, who fell to 4-2 as a professional, challenged Krantz to move up to the 170-pound weight class for the fight after Krantz knocked out Wright's younger brother Frank Wright in 77 seconds in a Jan. 31 event.

Wright dropped from his usual 200-pound weight class for the fight, which went back and forth for the first 30 seconds until both fighters got onto their feet and Krantz — fighting for Kim Addison's Team 3:16 — picked Wright up and power slammed him to the ground.

Krantz then got half mount and began to hit Wright with several unanswered punches, forcing Wright to protect himself and opening the door for the choke hold.

Krantz will hit the ring again June 6 at the Red River Rumble at the Shreveport Festival Plaza.

Discussions are also in the works that Krantz might be in the running to fight a UFC top 10 fighter in August.
