Hey everyone, so this past week, we were in California for the 2009 American Music Awards and a show at the Roxy Theatre on Sunset and we had a blast! We got there last Thursday and spent the first couple of days in meetings with "Team CBH" -- our managers, publicists and agents. We hit up some guitar stores had a great show at the Roxy on Thursday. Saturday night was crazy as we attended our first rooftop LA party, the AMA pre-party at Club Nokia. This was our first real LA/Hollywood/biz party and we had a great time. The girls, organic cupcakes and bumpin' music made the night unforgettable.
We started early the next day preparing for a day of AMA events. We got to the Conga Room at noon for our sound check and hit the red carpet after that. Being our first red carpet stroll, we didn't know what to expect (like the metal detectors), but the fans, press and photographers were wonderful. We had some great interviews where we even did a impromptu rendition of 'Jingle Bells.' Once inside the Nokia Theatre, we took our seats and waited for the show to begin. All the performances were great, but the CBH favorite was Alicia Keys and Jay-Z. It's hard to capture the essence of the AMAs on TV -- the music and the energy in a live setting was fantastical (word of the day)! We didn't get to see the end of the show because we had to head over to the Conga Room to play the official post-party which started at 8 p.m. As the theatre emptied out and the Conga room filled, we were introduced and hit the stage in front of the industry's biggest faces.
We had an absolutely amazing time and we're looking forward to more events like this! Check out some of the pics and videos we posted! -CBH
