Current mood:  accomplished

After the terrific success of last nights show, I've decided that although I love what we've done and created, I need a bit of time for myself. I've decided to take a break from the band. I little break that will give me time figure out what's most important in my life.

I'm going to use the next while to get my mind together and figure out exactly who I am and who I'm meant to become. Thanks for your support. I love you all.

Hello everyone,
We now have all our songs available for download through our myspace & purevolume site. We would love for you to download both 'The Spade Sessions' from our myspace and our first self-titled demo from our purevolume site.

However, there are some different options when downloading our songs, depending on what quality you want. On myspace you will first have to turn off any pop-up blockers, then you will be able to download the songs. The only problem with downloading the songs from myspace is that they are only 96kbs which is not so good. We only just realized this, but we found a solution!

To download the songs at 160kbs you can either use these links to save the file, or visit http://www.stage.fm/explore/ where there is a song list you can download from. You can also download our previous demo from this site.
Here is the link for each song on its own:

The Spade Sessions
Vega
Last Ship Home
Embroidery
Pilots of the Purple Twilight

Explore EP
Walking City
Opus
The Valar

Have fun with these songs! Put them on your ipods!

Hello myspace! Its been a long time since we've posted a band update on here so here goes...

We've been super busy for the past few months recording and preparing for the release of our new album, 'The Golden Apples of the Sun.' Our best buddy Mitch flew over to the big island at the start of September and we started tracking drums and guitars immediately. Three weeks later, we were more or less done recording everything and Mitch flew back to his homeland of Oahu. Now, a few weeks later, the tracks are finally in the mixing stage! We are that much closer to having a final product and it is sounding great. We are all excited about the songs that we recorded and we can't wait to show them to the world. We are also thinking about putting up a rough mix of "Vega" soon so keep checking back for that. Here are some photos of us recording:

As many of you know, we have a bunch of shows coming up on Oahu that are going to be insane. We think these are going to be some of the best shows we've ever played yet. Check our main page to see all the shows we've got lined up. They are all going to be awesome and we are playing with some great bands. We can't wait to play for everyone over there. And we got more merch!
Since our full length won't be done for awhile, we decided that we are going to finally sell 'THE SPADE SESSIONS' in cd form at our shows. We got a batch of cds made with some new artwork. We are going to be selling each cd for $5.

SONG LISTING:
1. Vega
2. Last Ship Home
3. Embroidery
4. Pilots of the Purple Twilight

We are also going to have a bunch of stickers and shirts (New designs!). Here are the two shirt designs:

All in all, there is a lot of fun stuff coming up and we couldn't be happier. We can't wait to play those shows, and we can't wait to get the album out to all of you. Explore loves you all!!

So we just managed to make a bunch of new t-shirts today in our forest layer. These are the shirts we are going to be selling at the X-factory show on Oahu, August 11th. We are going to sell each shirt for $10 flat. These shirts come in GOOD sizes (no box shirts my friends). Its a wonderful deal! Kamran designed and printed all the shirts by hand so you know they were made with love. Here are some pictures of the finished product:

The magnificent golden apples design!

We will be selling the shirts in these three colors (plus navy):

We will only have a limited number of shirts for sale at the show so if you would like one, and you are at the show, just let us know asap. Oh, and if you are wondering, "The Golden Apples of the Sun" is the name of one of our 10 minute, epic song, and also the probable name of our upcoming full-length album. Heres the flyer for the show they are going to be for sale at if you haven't seen it:

This photo blog is long overdue. A LOT has been going on at the explore headquarters in Laupahoehoe. Just recently Aly, our singer, and Emma, Alexei's girlfriend, visited the Big Island for some fun and relaxation. Boy, they didn't know what they were in for. We wanted to adventure like always, so we took them around to all the hotspots and we had the best time ever. Here are some photos from our fantastic journey!

DAY 1: Aly and emma arrived. Josh, Waiaka, and I (Tyler) picked them up from the airport and we went to wal-mart to buy some snacks. To our surprise, leilani (the walmart worker) hooked up a sweet karaoke machine in the electronics department. Aly was all over that, and when josh started screaming in the mic, the entire store shunned us. It was nice.

We also bought waiaka some new teeth at wal-mart. We all felt he needed a new grill.

After the Samimi's came down, we started exploring. We went to a waterfall in town and took some photos.

We walked down a mystery trail and found some cool ponds. we took some more photos!

Later, Alexei found a poster of his new favorite artist and decided that from that point on, he was going to be 'jet dreamin'

A few days later we set off for a great beach called Hapuna. Waiaka wore his new robe for the 10th day in a row. He was styling.

HAPUNA!

After the beach we headed over to kona where we all ate some sushi. Waiaka was really excited as you can see.

da boiz

A few days later, we decided to walk from our house to the public pool with everyone. It was a grand day.

Alexei did some sick moves off the diving board.

I actually landed flat on my back after this. Straight intense.

Alygator killed it.

Willy was all about speed.

Kamran was all about tanning. He was freaking out all the kids at the pool.

CAFE 100! Home of the best loco moco's. can you spy all of us?

Alygator conquered a super loco in one sitting...pretty damn amazing

Then we went to the ZOO.

"They are so majestic" ~ waiaka

Engraving the water buffalo...

while alexei searched the forest for berries.

It was all very fun. time to go play music....
