You know I guess I am writing this to share with all of you because I know I am not the only one who "cant let things go" at times. I know in my heart I am not the type of person to get mad easily. I get more hurt and heart broken than anything.  But when I am pissed off.. I am pissed off and there is nothing that you can tell my stubborn self at the moment until I cool off!! I am a Taurus to the heart! hahaha With that being said.... I had to sit and think.... In life we were always told to follow our heart, but you know sometimes we got to also use our head!!! In life we are given RED flags, but we chose to ignore it to "follow our heart"... Been there and done that too many times when all of the signs of "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU THINKING!!!?!" is right there in my face. 

I came across this article and you know what? It hit home on so many levels........ I wanted to share this because I know I am NOT the only one Who can let it go........ Well in 2009 and beyond.... I am going to try to LET IT GO!!!!! If you dont feel this.. then you are fooling yourself!! Because I am sure we have all been in these very situations a time or too........ Read on.......

There are people who can walk away from you....

And hear me when I tell you this!..:When people can walk away from you: let them walk.

I don't want you to try to talk another person into staying with you,

Loving you, calling you, caring about you, coming to see you,

Staying attached to you.

I mean hang up the phone.

When people can walk away from you let them walk.

Your destiny is never tied to anybody that left.

People leave you because they are not joined to you.

Let them go .

And it doesn't mean that they are a bad person,

It just means that their part in the story is over.

And you've got to know when people's

Don't keep trying to raise the dead.

You've got to know when it's dead.

You've got to know when it's over.

Let me tell you something.

I've got the gift of good-bye.

It's the tenth spiritual gift,

I believe in good-bye.

It's not that I'm hateful, it's that I'm faithful,

And I know whatever God means for me to have

He'll give it to me.

And if it takes too much sweat you don't need it.

Stop begging people to stay.

Let them go!!

If you are holding on to something

That doesn't belong to you and was never intended for your life,

Then you need to LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to past hurts and pains ..

LET IT GO!!!

If someone can't treat you right, love you back, and see your worth...

LET IT GO!!!

If someone has angered you ...

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to some thoughts of evil and revenge ..

LET IT GO!!!

If you are involved in a wrong relationship or addiction .

LET IT GO!!!

If you are holding on to a job that no longer meets your needs or

Talents ..

LET IT GO!!!

If you have a bad attitude...

LET IT GO!!!

If you keep judging others to make yourself feel better...

LET IT GO!!!

If you're stuck in the past and God is trying to take you to a new

Level in Him...

LET IT GO!!!

If you are struggling with the healing of a broken relationship....

LET IT GO!!!

If you keep trying to help someone who won't even try to help

Themselves..

LET IT GO!!!

If you're feeling depressed and stressed ....

LET IT GO!!!

If there is a particular situation that you are so used to handling yourself and God is saying "take your hands off of it," then you need

Let the past be the past.

Forget the former things.

GOD is doing a new thing for 2009!!!

I have been getting all kinds of advice from older women about relationships and what not because I had to ask what am I doing wrong? Im nice.. well sometimes..hahaha but my heart is always in the right place. So I dont know why things never seem to work out.  The one thing that stuck in my mind is when I was talking to this older lady Ms Rita (R.I.P May 2008)  I swear this made soooooooo much sense to me. This is not word for word but it is what I remembered.... I had to let my mind marinate on that for awhile.

She said, "Honey, whatever you do, don't ever let yourself become a "make-do" woman" I had no idea what she meant, but, of course, she was about to explain.

She continued, "men" don't deny themselves anything!!!! Whatever they want to buy, they buy. Whatever they want to do, they do. Meanwhile, there is the wife or girlfriend, making do with her hair not being done, her clothes from yesteryear, her nails in need, never had a pedicure, scraping the bottom of her tube of lipstick! or rolling up the the edge of her lipgloss like it is toothpaste (lawd I cried laughing when she said that--- that is me all the way it is hard to find the right shade ahhah) anywayyyy Oh, I could go on and on with how "we" make do she said.

And why do we "make do"? Because the car needs fixing, this bill is behind, we have to use our time to take care of this, or take care of that; we're saving for this, working, cooking, cleaning, raising, etc."

She warned me to never become a "make-do" woman, because she says if you start, it is hard to stop and one could easily find themselves making-do for the rest of their lives.

I vowed it would never happen to me. I didn't think much more of the conversation until today (Jan 21st), I began to take notice, she was right. I was making do!!!

Men are a lot better at being good to themselves. Some call it being selfish, there has to be another word for it. Tell me if you know. Whatever you call it. It does have it's place.

When they want to play ball, or hunt, or fish, go to a trailride alone, or go riding horses they go! When they want To buy clothes, or video games, hang with the fellas and want you to stay home or go meet your girlfriends or your mama or whatever their "thing" is, they do it! Have you ever tried to stop one from doing what they want to do? Let me know!  I DOUBT IT!!!!

When I look around, I see a whole lot of make-do women, married or not, with or without children, they are all over the place!

I have decided that I am going to make my best effort to become a "make-time" woman!!!!

I will make the time to do what I need to do to be good to myself, whether that's a trip to the salon, or the gym or the mall. This time I'm gonna take a lesson from the guys! I'm doing my own damn thing! I work too hard not to be good to myself every once in awhile!

So with that being said i wanted to share this with everyone so...All right ladies, single and married... Let's NOT be "MAKE-DO" Women! Let's LOVE OURSELVES and ENCOURAGE each other!. All the sistas hating on each other gotta stop somewhere.... Time to unite damn it!!! There's room for everyone!!!
