Hey Hey (My My),
elZOO's monthly staple of theFIRSTthursday will continue at the el Mocambo (upper level) on October 2nd! The show will feature an Art Gallery powered by Eric Euler and Andre Fortier.
We will actually be showcasing 4 different performances this night. Starting off with a solo acoustic set by Chris Miller (http://www.myspace.com/christopherjmiller). Followed by Charles Tilden (http://www.myspace.com/charlestilden) who is arriving from England the day of the show, he'll be performing his tunes, watch this professional play with serve jetlag (you wouldn't be able to tell!)
The night will then take a bit of an electric touch. Not the normal heavy metal thunder that elZOO is use to. But we'll be getting an intense dose of 100% pure legit rock n' roll by Proposterous (http://www.myspace.com/proposterous) and The Shenanigans (http://www.myspace.com/theshenanigansmusic). It'll be a great show, and if you don't agree then… the boys from Proposterous and Robin Williams speaks on our behalf to you!

Hey Hey (My My),
From the success of our first two shows this past summer, we have been granted a monthly fixed day to have our event. It's easy to remember, it's the First (1st) Thursday of every month! It started with this event that happened on Thursday, September 4, 2008!
elZOO's debut staple of theFIRSTthursday at the el Mocambo started with a fire shot of metal! It featured three all electric fistful of steel progressive bands: The Isosceles Project, Sentient, and out-of-towners The Synaesthetic. A great meal for those that have an iron tongue!
It also featured an Art Gallery that was all powered by Eric Euler (Guitarist from The Isosceles Project).
Thanks to everyone that came out and got lost in the zoo. The next elZOO is already set, and will be happening on theFIRSTthursday of October (the 2nd).

Thanks to everyone that came out to elZOO: DOPPLEGANGER!!! on Sat. July 19th at the El Mocambo. Humidity was in the air, thankfully the party was downstairs as opposed to the original idea of being held in the upper level. With the proper air ventilation in play we were able to rock out with our cocks out and not worry about passing out. Because nobody likes to pass out with their cocks out unguarded.
The Harold Wartooth (THW) put on a stellar performance to start the night off. The art was already on the walls, and THW made sure to input some rock n’ roll into the show to get it started!
The Isosceles Project (TIP) played it's soon to be released EP in it's full. Infact, the people who came out to the show got an extra bonus. TIP, took the track "DOPPLEGANGER" and merged it with another track "Oblivion's Candle"... to produce a 27 minute epic called "DOPPLECANDLE!!!". Looks like people got more than they could handle, as Pete Nema's (http://www.petenema.com) camera got destroyed during the bands set. No one is safe when these boys hit… or should I say… rape the stage. Especially for those of you who rock out with your cocks out.
ZUKU ended the show with a hard driven performance. ZUKU has opened for some of Toronto's finest in the past year, ranging from C'MON to Die Mannequin. ZUKU were able to maintain the headline spot just as effectively as the two previously mentioned bands. ZUKU is some real shit.
It was nice to see the El Mocambo packed with fans, musicians, artists and enough canned food donations to feed the needy for quite some time.
Thanks again to everyone that came out and got lost in the zoo. You guys can get lost fairly shortly as the next elZOO is up around the corner. Check back for more details!

Thank you kindly to everyone that showed up at elZOO's Pre-NXNE-Bash! on Thursday May 29th, 2008. It was a very historic night at the El Mocambo, dating BrownSounds 10 Year Anni since playing at The Elmo 10 Years ago in his first NXNE showcase with Sum41. We also found out that it was the last Brown Brigade performance for the majority of the Summer... even though we're still in Spring!
The Isosceles Project also unleashed their new single (that took over 6 months to make, BTW!) "Oblivion's Candle", here is a 10 minute clip of the performance...
Much respect to ADA, who put on a stellar performance before TIP and BB. Much love to all the artists and bands that showcased their talent. Please check our Photo Section for pictures from the night!
I know looking back on Thursday, May 29th, 2008... there couldn't have been a better place to be at than the El Mocambo!
Be on the look out for the next elZOO: DOPPLEGANGER!!! on Saturday, July 19, at The El Mocambo!

This is the debut elZOO event! elZOO is the aftermath of The Annex Zoo (Click Here - Then "Launch Project" to watch a video from The Annex Zoo's Clothe The Homeless). The Art & Music Zoo already painted the walls with rock n' roll in The Annex Region of Toronto, now we're focusing on The El Mocambo. One of the most historic venues in Toronto, that's been rocked by The Rolling Stones, SRV, Black Flag, The Ramones, and so many more. elZOO is looking to bring a unique addition to this great venue.
The show will consist of three (3) AMAZING Bands...
Featuring an extensive two (2) level Art Gallery powered by:
Featuring the talent of: Nyoka Bittschwan Joel Black-Beatty Melanie Day Jason Fonceca Andre Fortier Jessica Gorlicky Marianne Katzman (+ live painting!) We will also be selling NXNE Wristbands at the door, the cost is only $29 and will give you GA access to this show as well as access to 50 clubs and over 500 bands during the June 12-15 weekend in Toronto. Click Here - for more information regarding the North by Northeast Music & Film Festival and Conference
So come experience the best Toronto has to offer in one night and in one venue, and then think to yourself what's going to happen two weeks later (June 12-15) during NXNE weekend when you have 50 venues and over 500 hundred bands to choose from!!! All included with your NXNE wristband!
