A rock lullaby, written a few years ago.  Many thanks to my fellow Honeybee Ali Seifi for basically creating a guitar part from my description of what I wanted.

I'm playing the guitar on this recording.  Someday I'll get a recording of Ali & me performing this together.

Still waiting for the perfect (haha) moment to finish recording the last song for the EP.  In the meantime, here are a couple of scratch tracks of songs I wrote last year.

Don't Fall - Nov '08

I've said these words to many men in the last 15 years, some of them were even smart enough to listen.  This song is meant to be (and someday will be recorded as such) a conversation between the guy & the girl.  Inspired by a 20-year-old I dated very briefly last fall.  (Am I still a cougar & a cradle robber if he started it??)

Hey Blue Eyes - Dec '08

For J-F.D., D.B. & A.R. respectively.

I love my eyes, and many people comment on them.  Figured they deserved a song.

I have moved all original material that I have written to this site (MySpace), and all flute-related material (portfolio) to my Reverbnation site at http://reverbnation.com/ivyrich.

Check it out!

This is one of those songs that's very loosely based on the combination of an actual circumstance plus a fictitious circumstance that has the potential to happen at some point.  I'll just leave it at that. ;)

I was experimenting with sus. chords and sevenths, and, well, anything out of the ordinary.  So if you have a traditional ear, some of the chords may sound...not  normal...

I had a lot of fun with this one.  The lyrics were written on Tuesday, the music on Thursday, it's now Friday night, and it's recorded and even (sort of) produced.

However, I'm pleased with myself for putting it all together and actually having it sound somewhat like a real song.  I was going for a sort of Eva Cassidy feel.  As I only have some basic blues training and am NOT a 'jazzer', I hope I've been successful.

Enjoy!

I really love how MySpace just sort of randomly assigns me an age and a sign.  I look awfully good for 104.  But I'm really not a Capricorn.  I'm a Libra.  Searching for balance, and thinking life should be fair.  Or something like that....
